Biography
"A person who marauds; a raider."
Lore below!
Glacier encounter! (Your excitement grows as you walk towards the edge of the thick ice, getting as close to the whale as you can. The breathtaking view makes you momentarily forget the risks of being so close, underestimating the size and power of the creature. When the whale dives back into the water, an enormous wave sweeps you off the surface of the ice. You feel a sharp pain and it's a struggle to emerge again. Upon successfully reaching the surface, you notice drops of your own blood on the snow.)
Veracious had found Marauder wandering in a blizzard, Marauder hadn't even seen the massive male as he kept his head down and pushed forward in the blizzard until he ran head-first into the massive male's chest!
"Looking a little lost there son," a soft gruff voice was barely heard over the sound of the roaring winds.
Marauder tried to respond only for the wind and ice to whip more firmly around him, the ice stinging his already sore eyes, and muzzle.
A warm body pressed carefully against his side and began to guide him deeper into the tundra, soon enough they came to a canyon, and the wind and ice broke into a mild breeze the deeper they went. Eventually, the crease broke into an underground cave with the sight of the sky still in sight, but here the wind was quiet, just a gentle howling. The space was huge! And there were a lot of wolves here, with plenty of room to spare.
"I am the king of Forbidden Clan, Veracious, my home is open to travelers, here you are free to stay or go if you please."
"You just go about letting strange wolves into your camp are you mad, I could be a threat to you!"
Veracious just smiled and looked the younger male over, "You have no scent connecting you to a rival clan... Plus... I doubt I have to worry about a thing," He said turning towards his clanmates and facing one group of hunters in particular.
Said group was observing him with a bored era about them, like even if he did anything, it wouldn't be a problem.
Marauder managed to settle in very well, he went scouting with Sanyua and hunting with the Clash hunting group hunting the hardest terrain in the valley, he worked hard, and began to make many friends within the clan, and then his leader came back with a stunning she-wolf with the same pelt as him. He was love-struck at first sight and did everything he could to win over Jinx's affections. Sometimes even tripping over his paws to get something for her, he would bring her food as soon as he was done distributing it to the elders and pups.
His charm did end up winning her over, she was stoic and hard-working, and could easily fend for herself but she fell for him too. Hell she was the one to show him a few hunting, stalking, and even fishing tricks of her own, she was stealthy and elegant, and everything this rough young male wasn't.
And then they had their first litter and were stumped. One pup had a pelt just like their own, and the other... When the other opened his eyes... He couldn't see them.
Shimmer was blind.
But Shimmer was their pride and joy. But boy was Shimmer such a majorly independent pup despite his 'differences,' as that damn bear called it.
While Marauder was out completing both of his hunting and scouting duties, Jinx watched over their pups, and more importantly, watched over Shimmer closely.
Luckily and unluckily Shimmer made a friend close to his age if a little older... Adamant. The grandson of one of Forbidden clan's past studs PrettyBoy. Prettyboy was a sweet male, his grandson? Took after his wild daughter Zadash, one of the Forbidden clan scouts. Due to working closely with his father Zadash often helped watch Marauder, and Jinx's pups, and would bring her son Adamant along.
If Marauder thought Shimmer and Adamant were bad to keep track of, adding his new son MoonDance to the mix stressed him out to the max. Moon was special... No one in the clan, even SkyDancer the immortal, had seen anything like him. His back legs were fused togetherand he dragged himself around. When he heard Backlashes' horrified wail, he dropped the kill he had just returned with and ran to her birthing nest. BackLashes cry made the whole clan tense and on edge they were so scared to even peak at what had caused such a cry.
Marauder didn't even know what to do, Veracious pushed his way past Marauder took stock of the situation, and gently took the pup from Backlash and set him on fresh bedding. Veracious was closely followed by Tengoku the herbalist. Verascious carefully laid on his belly with the little fish tucked between his paws, together with Tenagoku they assessed the little one, he would live for a time, but would die if something wasn't done soon. With a nod to Ten Veracious picked the cub up and set him back at his mother's belly. A nod to the two stressed parents Veracious left only to return shortly with a strange Jellyfish. A rare item that could make one immortal.
After things had calmed down and the pup was settled and fed without fear of oncoming death, things went back to normal, and soon? MoonDance was dragging circles around his litter mates to the point he ditched them to hang out with his half-sibling Shimmer and his friend Adamant. The trio? We're a whirlwind of energy, despite their differences.
"By the Gods Marauder, your children are out of their minds!" That was SkyDancer. Their immortal packmate who rarely raised her voice. Uh-oh..
An ear-piercing howl woke the rest of the sleeping clan including their new leader, and his lovely mate Jinx.
Jinx just eyed him and growled, not leaving her nest, she looked down to her pups and placed her head back down as Marauder got up to check what all the fuss was about. She did not rest her head down long. Her head snapped back to her belly where only two of her newest litter were. Expect she was missing one.
"Retaliation!" Jinx roared.
Leaving the nest she stormed past Marauder, shoulder-checking him into the den wall, hackles raised.
"Oh shit, it's mom," a frantic squeak could be heard from Marauder's older son, Shimmer, their blind pup.
Poking his head out of the den he was greeted by a wolverine running rampant through the camp, Retaliation had hold of a dead snake, and was tormenting the other pups, Shimmer, Adamant, and Misfit had been messing with the wolverine, only to see "Mom," and scatter leaving the mess for someone else to deal with.
"Dad I swear it was dead!!" Misfit screeched, being the slowest of his siblings he was the first to feel his mother's disappointed fangs sink into his butt fluff.
Little Retaliation had plopped down at this point to watch the chaos.
"Where did he get the snake?" Dumb-founded Marauder just watched, the 141 hunters were quick to deal with the wolverin, and Jinx was working her way through scolding their children.
"Uh, Jinx I think you and I need to stop having pups...."
"You think?! All of them are insane and I blame you," she roared rounding on his releasing Shimmer's tail from between her jaws.
With a yelp, Marauder did the only thing he could think of and he ran. Not a single one of his warriors lifted a paw to help, content to watch their new leader be scolded by their mate, while their pups escaped. Though Misfit was quick to snatch up Retaliation and take her with the unruly bunch of siblings.
All was peaceful in Marauder's little tribe, he kept the heritage of the past leaders alive, and with one last look around their hidden stone walls, with their skylight roof, the tribe left their cave to set out and explore new lands for a time. The Glacier had been their home for generations and one day they would return. Things went well! They settled into every biome and then crossed into well. But on the way back home, humans started to appear, and a scary amount. Several of their clan mates came back with deep burning holes in them, they wailed that something was inside the wounds, a small burning ball of fire.
Enraged, Marauder began to take after one of their past studs, Morzan. link He was a notorious two-leg killer, he grew to crave them as his meals, and he defended this very clan from them with fang, claw, and brute strength.
Every human Marauder comes across ends up dead, despite the damage they and their weapons do to his body, pain be damned. He will not let them harm his clan. As he kills. He feels Morzan standing over him the phantom feeling of blood dripping down his neck, shoulders, and chest.
While on patrol one afternoon a distant gunshot ran out, and the cry of a fellow wolf sounded out. With a snarl, Marauder bound forward. He could see the hunter now, a weapon aimed at something struggling to stand. Two quick strides forward, his fangs locked around the human's arm. The resulting gunshot dazed him, his ears ringing but he held his grip, the bones in the arm of this frail creature grinding together. Something glinted in the human's other hand, but Marauder was too dazed to recognize danger. He didn't have to though, as the wolf whom he hadn't even taken a glance at, managed to get ahold of this human's throat. Once downed they dispatched the human quickly.
Both stood panting, Marauder shaking his head to clear his ringing ears, while the other male collapsed with a pained whine. Shaking himself Marauder approached carefully, and assessed the other's wounds, before throwing his head back and howling for his medic. Quickly, and thankfully his medic was out hunting for herbs nearby, responded to his howl, and started to make her way to their supplies in mouth.
"My clan's medic is on the way, lets both just sit for a bit alright friend?"
"Yeah.. sure... Just gonna sit then," it was more of a flop as if the other male's strings had been cut.
His wounds didn't seem too bad, but then again, he'd seen others with the same small wounds that had ended up dead within minutes. Those small balls of fire were disastrous. Marauder started forward to lick at the wounds but was stopped by a snarl, and his albino medic burst from the trees, a basket of herbs in her mouth.
"Don't you touch that," she barked, shouldering her leader to the side.
She gave him a quick look over before sighing, the ball of fire had gone straight through missing vitals. Patching both entry and exit wounds, and slowly urged the male to his paws, letting him drop the majority of his weight onto her. With that, the three of them started back to the safety of their hidden den sight.
Once the Mottled male with strange markings was rested, he introduced himself with an even stranger name, "SR-71 BlackBird. Though I suppose that's a mouthful. If you want, y'all can just call me Simon."
