Biography
Welcome one, welcome all to, Long Story Short, the story where I, the narrator, tell the story of how Ferretwhisper will acquire their first melanistic wolf!
Main Characters of Long Story Short:
Jackson and Jillson (DM me the word 'narcolepsy' if you understand this reference)
Minor Characters in Long Story Short:
Sakura, Goldenhoney, and Hollystripe
[random surprise guest that goes by the alias, "Grape Juice." may or may not see him. )
Long Story Short:
This all starts when Ferretwhisper has an idea: to breed their first mutation.
They decide to start out simple and go for an albino wolf or a melanistic wolf. They then search the Trading Center or albino gene carriers. Lo and behold, there are two carriers! Inexpensive, too! Ferret buys the wolves, and renames them, to show the wolves that they are a part of the Howlheart Pack. Goldenhoney and Hollystripe are now in.

Sakura, Ferret's first mutation, is born! I'm so dang proud. They then get to thinking, "I have the albie pup, why not go or a mela pup now?" So, they do. They look for mela carriers and stumble upon two wolves. You know them. You love them. You've been haunted by them. Jackson and Jillson. They're wonderful. The first thing Ferret does is to check for inbreeding. Nope, all clear. No inbreeding and they both have different mothers. (please notice how they look almost EXACTLY the SAME) Ferret can get started on Operation Nightfall: Jackson ages up first(they're a year apart), then Jillson ages up. They were both 10 1/2 and 11 1/2 months respectively. By the time Jillson is one year old, it is not quite time to set the pair bond. When they do, Jillson will be on her last day of heat, and Jackson and Jillson will "Get Jiggy With It-Big Willie Style," they wait four rollovers, and BOOM, melanistic wolf! "This won't be that hard."
Unbeknownst to them, it was that hard.
Something that Ferretwhisper failed to notice was that Jillson was aging up with a few other wolves. There were four wolves, and three open spaces. Apparently, Ferretwhisper stUPidly decided to take the chance. The chance that Jillson won't leave and one of the other wolves will. Right?
Nooooo. Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Jillson is the one that leaves and resets the 7 rollover wait to form a pair bond. They get Jillson back, but now, she is in heat. Not wanting to waste it, they breed Jillson and Sharpstone together. After a while, Jillson has her puppies, and she is pair-bonded to Jackson. But, because she has puppies, Jackson and Jillson have to wait even longer to have puppies of their own. "Argh! Foiled again, foiled by impatience!"
*time yeets by, again. hoo boy.*
After feeding the many wolves they have, in an attempt to foil boredom, Ferret decides to look through some of their wolves' family trees. They start at Jackson's family tree and click on his father, Lucius. They start scrolling, and scrolling through his numerous children, until, it is seen. The ruiner of all. The disastrous outcome, the horrid chance that would toss Ferret off a cliff.
Jackson and Jillson were on the same page of Lucius' Living Biological Offspring list!!!!

It was at this moment, that they knew, they quacked up. Now, if Ferret were to get a mela wolf, it would be inbred! {note from the narrator: I do not think Ferret has a problem with having an inbred wolf. I think it would be okay, but I do think they are striving for a clean bloodline.}
*time yeets by, for a third dang time*
On November 16th, Ferretwhisper participated in the forum game. "Guess The Base, Win A Prize!" She won by guessing the base correctly for Dawn. (this is said because there are rounds where we guess the eye color and other things). On that day she won two wolves. Grape Juice, and Dawn herself. {thank you Errorless!} Dawn has had a carrier report done for her, by Gene.
Ferret looks at it, and goes, " "
Dawn is a melanism carrier! Then, she had a pair bond cooldown of 17 rollovers. Plus, Jackson and Jillson were still in a pair bond together. If Ferret broke them up manually, Jackson and Jillson would be depressed for 30 rollovers. (Hey. It's future Ferret here. Even when you starve a wolf in a pairbond and they leave, it breaks. I should have commited another war crime when I had the chance. Anyway, please pretend that Jackson is a wussy depressed boi who cries because he can't date his half-sister. )
But, there is one way for the pair bond to break without anyone dying. (hopefully.)
Now, it's time for Operation Nightfall: Electric Boogaloo, in which Ferret does these things:
1. Starve Jillson so she leaves naturally and Jackson isn't depressed for a month
2. Make Dawn take Jillson's...everything. Her job, her den, Jackson.
3. Convince Jackson that Jillson doesn't love him anymore
4. After Dawn's pair bond cooldown, bond Jackson to her.
5. Wait for Dawn's heat to come around.
6. REMEMBER TO DO PAIR BOND BREEDING
7. Four days later, a melanistic puppy would be born!(please be male Ferret doesn't have enough GC for a sex changer)(even if it wasn't male I am 100 percent sure Ferret would love you anyway)
8: (commit several war crimes here or there)
Then, it happens. A rare moment of joy for Ferretwhisper. Two wonderous, beautiful mutations. If they weren't such a sigma, they would cry.
If all goes well, we would then start to see Operation Yin and Yang, which would only occur if the melanistic puppy birthed by Jackson and Dawn were male.
But, {checks watch} I think this is all the time we have today. This concludes our story, "Long Story Short." Guess it wasn't so short, after all? {laughs in disembodied narrator}
I may or may not see you next time if there even is a next time, but have a wonderful day.
I am The Narrator, and you've finished "Long Story Short."
