It had only started with bringing food to Socks, the lone 'cryptid' of the pack. She had found his personality and strange growths fascinating, as well as the two strange creatures that followed him as a duckling follows it's mother.
It was a storm on the full moon when things changed. She was bringing a hare carcass to share with Socks when the rain turned to lunar dust, dusting her fur and causing the purple antlers to sprout from her head.
She ran to Socks in a panic, telling him what had happened. He smiled at her knowingly, telling her she had been touched by the lunar dust, as he had himself.

He showed her the Dreamlands, where she found a little kitten with glowing white eyes and silvery tendrils in his tail. The kitten, whom she now calls Rivulet, became her faithful companion in both the Dreamlands and the waking world.
Though he wasn't the only companion she gained through this experience..
