Athelline brings something in their mouth, placing it by your side. When you look at them with a puzzled expression, they say it's a gift for you, because they are so caring and thoughtful.

Malpheus approaches the old, greying wolf. He's visibly unsure and weirdly delicate, as if this one time throughout his life full of bloodshed he actually cared not to destroy something as fragile as the wolf before him. He's a little bit awkward — he didn't spend much time with his mother after he forcefully took over the pack. And he knew that Athelline was not exactly happy with this.

The Silver wolf looks at him with a spark of something resembling fear, before she looks away. Her ears are tucked closely to the back of her head, as if she knew what her son is going to tell her.

"I'm sorry", he starts, a bit awkwardly. It's not like him. "But you can rest now. Goodbye". His voice is unusually soft, and his presence, for once, lacks his usual aggression. The Old wolf looks at him, visibly surprised. She's torn and scared, even though she knew this day was coming. Malpheus could see that, and after a moment of thought, he moves closer and nuzzles her. She sighs.

"Go now", she says. She wants to be alone, and Malpheus grants her this wish. He leaves her cave, lost in thought. He feels weird. First time in his life he feels hopeless. Maybe their relationship hasnt been the greatest, but he cherishes the memories he has of his mother from his childhood. And now she's gone, and he cannot do anything about it. He cannot force her not to die.

Death is an enemy he cannot win against, no matter how hard he tries. And he knows that it's waiting for him. This time, He's the prey... And he cannot accept this. He growls quietly to himself. He will find a way.
