After trying for months to decide on a new leader. They went back through the lineages looking for a daughter. Not of Queen Arctica but of King Fang. Though they still give tribute to her for forming the pack and for fertility of the pack , they now looked to King Fang for strength. And though some wanted a male heir, the majority of the pack still wanted a female and so it was found that Rikku was the closest heir.
Lebecca and Rikku were the choices for next leader but Lebecca was the 5th generation and Rikku was the 4th so they chose Rikku. They preplanned that their children would be betrothed to keep the Fang line strong.

The war in the lunar world was getting worse.
