"Dixon is a stoic and hardworking wolf who was found by Shasta as an adolescent. Hot-tempered and vicious then, he wanted little to do with the half-dog Alpha. But as he grew older, Dixon's once unruly, "lone wolf" demeanor slowly began to shift into the mindset of a wolf capable of leading a pack of his own. After the previous Saddle Creek Beta, Rook, passed during a famine that killed off 3/4 of the Saddle Creek wolves, Shasta noticed how much of a loyal and diligent adult Dixon had become, risking himself daily to find food for his remaining packmates, to ensure their survival and security. After that selfless act of loyalty, Shasta knew just whom he had to pick to become his successor."

"Seven years after the disaster that destroyed the modern world, the Earth has begun to reclaim the remnants of human civilization. After the death of Shasta, the half-dog Alpha , the Saddle Creek Pack elected Dixon, a hardworking and stoic male wolf, to be their new Alpha. Though the pack was shattered at the loss of their beloved founder, Dixon vowed to do his best to live up to the former Alpha's legacy.
The Saddle Creek wolves have seen many a loss since they first settled near the Canadian border: famines, illnesses, and rival packs nearly drove them to extinction in the middle of Shasta's reign. But Dixon is not afraid of the future, and hopes to lead his pack well throughout any sort of struggle."
