Wolvden, challenging or not?

Posted 2020-10-29 12:42:13

I don't think it's challenging at all. I see people like i cant get food or amusement items!! And i got like 40 blue jay feathers alone lol

The games feels more expensive then difficult

I joined 1 day after public access opened up and I found the first few days were a little harder, but the learning curve and difficulty has already plateaued. Most of the difficulty came with quite simply being new--your lead wolf is level 1, your scout is level 1, your hunters are an incomplete pack at level 1 with low stats and 0 synergy...and as a result, you don't get a lot of food, you lose fights a lot, etc. Once you get over the hump with your hunting pack, especially, the game gets a lot more manageable.

Once you have the mechanics figured out (which are simple and easy to figure out), the game is fundamentally about grinding. It's not especially complex or difficult.

I've enough toys and food coming out my ears as well haha, even if I have sometimes some really bad hunting days. Like for example today, of course on the day when I need 9 successful hunts lmao.

I haven't had any trouble with illnesses, I have only had a couple of illnesses - but almost 30 open wounds which I just get every day. Other than that, all my cures are just sitting in my hoard, unused. Having to pay to diagnose is at first a good SC sink, but it becomes free with higher proficiency.

I personally actually think it is good scouting progress is wiped. I've 50% progress in Glacier and I need few more strength to start scouting Rainforest. And if progress didn't get wiped, I probably would never use scouts again because rescouting atm isn't really worth it for me. And when you have high statted wolf, they will discover the first areas really quickly too.

I actually love the game I think it is very challenging and  simple all at the same time.  I tend to get bored with games that are too easy.  I am also a Lioden member, and I like the fact that they are two different games. Wolf living is very different then Lion living. I am still getting used to the money market, but that will change once the game gets older.  I love the biomes and believe they are beautiful.

I'm an early access player, I wouldn't call Wolvden hard I just feel like it's more involved and that it requires a bit more patience and understanding in the first week in order to start getting where you want. I like the way wolvden is right now, it engages me a lot more than any of my other pet sites do.

I'm a PA player. I play a lot and read all the guides, so I didn't really have trouble. There's a bit of challenge, especially with the hunting mechanics, but I didn't have too many illnesses or any pup deaths or any other serious problems. Seems pretty well balanced, and I enjoy it being a game where you need to put some effort into things.

About food/toys - I have plenty for myself and for sale, but I see people with 100-200 wolves in their packs, and I can see how they might struggle keeping up with those!

I'm another one that hasn't found it hard. I have food and toys a-plenty, my wolves rarely get sick and if they do they're easy to heal, preventing puppy deaths is straightforward...

I could see some people finding it hard to get enough SC to expand their territory as quickly as they'd like to. I guess my playstyle is better suited to these mechanics, because I tend to acquire new wolves at a relatively steady rate that my SC income can easily keep up with, and I think it's a crucial SC sink, but I do see why others get frustrated.

I find it not too hard, because I already knew some of the mechanics from Lioden. Yes, some stuff are different, but the basics are the same. If I didn't play Lioden before, I would probably struggle a lot more.

With all the guides it was pretty easy to get into it! It took a while to get my hunting team to be functional, but now they are at 40% synergy and have already taken down one deer! I have had little trouble with anything really. I still struggle with battles, particularly which ones are worth my time and which ones to give up on. I haven't bred any pups so far (other than the tutorial ones, which I chased) but the ones I've bought I've had no trouble keeping at 100% survival rate. So far only my lead wolf has gotten sick (she has gotten sick three times, twice if you don't count the tutorial). Feeding and playing with my wolves has been a breeze. I've been here since the public launch, and already I'm getting close to level ten. I have never played lioden btw

I had guides to start out - the tutorial was/is extremely helpful. One of the best in a online game I ever had (and Tala is so cute too). Anything not explained there was basically stuff you would figure out in time - or look up in the guides. which herbs to find where. How much food you'd really need, That you had to buy slots for more wolves.

I don't feel challenged in the way of "I'm having trouble starting out/I can't manage to keep my first few wolves alive"
I think it will be challenging once I've got a design to breed towards and more wolved I might want to keep. As the pack grows it will be harder to keep them all fed and happy and safe.
