Currently a WIP! :]

This pack was founded by a snow white wolf and his hybrid best friend. Together they founded the Snow Peaked Pack. The pack has gone through many changes throughout the years, care to look at how they started?

~ Pack Traditions and Customs ~

Currently a WIP! :]

Our pack has changed a lot over the months and years, giving us plenty of time to come up with several traditions and ways of living! We started with very few customs, but as we grew a need for order and rules grew, too.

The pack has several rules in several different aspects of life, including hunting, scouting, pupsitting, and for each stage of life as well.

Puppyhood

New puppies are always a happy sight in the pack! The mother will move into the Nursery Den before her puppies are due, where there will be one or more den mothers prepared to aid her in her birth. Den mothers (or fathers) are wolves in the pupsitting role who have made it their job to help care for the mothers in the nursery and any puppies she might have. After giving birth, a few wolves may come to visit the mother to see the new pups.

A mother may leave the nursery at any point after her puppies are weaned. If they are below the age of adolescence, the den mothers will care for the pups until they move into the Adolescent Den.

Pups are trained by an elder of the pack, as all elders will have a mentor role. What the individual pup is trained in is up to the parents. They may decide to boost skills and stats their pups are doing poorly in, or they may build on the skills and stats their pups are strong in.

Adolescence

New puppies are always a happy sight in the pack!

Adulthood

Hierarchy

There is a defined hierarchy in the pack, were wolves will rank above or below others.

Leader:

May also be called the "alpha" or "lead wolf." It is the Leader's job to make sure the pack is running smoothly in all aspects of life.

High Rankers:

High Rankers are wolves who have been awarded a special rank by the leader. Rank #1 is only ever used for the leader's mate, and Rank #2 is only ever used for the Beta or Second-in-Command. All other numbers after that may be assigned to wolves. The largest numbered rank is generally the last wolf to have been assigned to the High Ranking Den, as the numbers are given out in numerical order. When a High Ranker has pups, the pups will inherit the high ranking, marked by the rank their parent has followed by a decimal that depends on what order the pup was born. For example, a High Ranker may have Rank #3. If that wolf were to have pups, the first born pup would be marked as Rank #3.1, the second pup as Rank #3.2, the third pup Rank #3.3, etc.
If two High Rankers have pups, the pups will inherit the rank of the highest ranking parent. For example, if a wolf with Rank #5 has pups with a wolf with Rank #2, the pups will be labeled as Rank #2.1, Rank #2.2, Rank #2.3, etc.

When a High Ranker passes away, their spot may be claimed by the wolf below them, causing all other wolves below to have their rank raised by one. The exception to this is if the deceased High Ranker left behind pups. In such case, the pup would preserve the spot, preventing any wolves from claiming the rank number. This is why so many High Rankers try to leave behind pups before they pass on, as their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren down the line get to reap the benefits of being in such a role.

High Ranks are only given to wolves who have earned them, by being a loyal, brave, and crucial part of the pack. After a leader assigns a wolf a high rank, they are moved into the High Ranking Den, where they may reside with wolves like the leader's mate and pups, and beta. They are also among the first to get fed, after the Nursery and Elders have eaten, and have greater influence over their subordinates in the hierarchy. Pups born under a high ranking parent have the ability of earning their own rank, if the leader feels they are deserving. The leader can also revoke the High Ranking status if need be, in the case that a wolf has betrayed the pack or is deemed unworthy of the title.

Main Den Wolves:

There are two sectors to the Main Den, the Senior Main Den and Junior Main Den.

Senior Main Den
The Senior Main den is for wolves aged 4 years and up, and the ranking system for this particular den is based on experience level. Wolves with higher experience and levels will rank higher, as it shows they have more knowledge and experience. Senior Main Den Wolves are fed before the Juniors.

Junior Main Den
The Junior Main Den if for wolves between the ages of 1 year and 3 years 11 1/2 months of age. It's ranking system is based on age, older wolves will rank higher over younger ones. When they turn 4 years of age, they may move into the Senior Main Den, where their ranking may change drastically. Junior Main Den Wolves are fed after the Seniors.

Nursery Sector:

The Nursery is split into two sectors as well:

The Nursery
This is were the pups are born and cared for, and where the den mothers reside.

The Adolescent Den
In this den pups aged 6 months to around 1 year of age are moved here. Here they will be apprenticed by other wolves and have an opportunity to be in a living space with a bit of space away from the mothers and den parents. Yearlings may also reside in this den for a while, as Yearlings may spend their first year without a role, allowing them to rest and spend time with loved ones. As soon as they reach 2 years of age, however, they must take on a role to contribute to the rest of the pack.

Elders:

May also be called the "alpha" or "lead wolf." It is the Leader's job to make sure the pack is running smoothly in all aspects of life.

Stray Wolves:

May also be called the "alpha" or "lead wolf." It is the Leader's job to make sure the pack is running smoothly in all aspects of life.
