Celebrating an Adoption ❤️

Hello to anyone nice enough to click haha!
I am just really shocked with joy right now and wanted an outlet to share. I work at an animal shelter, and it is one of my days off today. I always, always am hoping for lots of adoptions, of course, but sometimes you selfishly hope your favorites only go home when you're there.

Unfortunately but also SO fortunately, my favorite dog in our care finally found his new family today. My coworkers know how connected I am to the dog so they all texted me to share the news. This is a dog that never would have people ask about him because he wouldn't always "present" well in his kennel and he had some naughty behaviors that would discourage some people. He's also a VERY big and strong pittie, all chunky and proportioned funnily with his tiny feet and head and Built™️ body. Lots of other dogs are just easier to handle or appeal to people more.

His name is Jacks and he has waited 8 months to be adopted ❤️ In our care, he learned over 5 new commands, got spoiled by me and his other fan club members, and even recently got lower behaviorally so "lower level" volunteers could walk him! He's such a big genius. I am gonna miss him so much but this is really why I love my job. No matter how hard it can be, this is what makes it worth it.

Thanks for reading ❤️ Send Jacks your thoughts to keep being his good boy self ❤️
