Foreseer of Ash & Bone

Remus had a destiny. One that he was uncertain that he could accomplish. Remus had known he was supposedly destined for greatness at a young age, but he also foresaw that he was the bringer of destruction to his pack, of grief and sorrow, of disappointment. Unable to follow in his father's footsteps to become a great leader of the pack, he stepped down and passed the title to his younger sibling. One night, a vision of his ancestors foretold him of a great flame to strike their home, awoken with panic and filled with disaster, he pleaded with his father. He hoped to save them, desperately, he pleaded and begged for his father to believe him. However, his father did not. He could not believe that his son was telling the truth, there was no drought, no scent of smoke, no flames, no bright heat that he could sense.

Remus' father sent him away, filled with disgust and disappointment, he was tired of his son and banished him from their home. Stricken with grief, Remus ran. He ran far and long into the night, a whimper sounded out of his throat as he knew there was nothing he could do as he watched his home burst into flames…

To Meet Your Fated

The importance of soulmates in a wolf's life can be the difference between fulfillment and despair. That is to say, if the wolf is destined to have a fated mate. Remus was uncertain if he would ever find his own, unable to deal with the loss of his home and family, he became a traveler until one day when he came upon a small community of wolves.

Although they had no pack ties, they functioned as a family. They welcomed Remus with open arms and Freya, the most charming of the females, soon began to befriend the newcomer.

One night, after Freya and Remus discovered that they were fated, Freya's to-be mate, learned of their affections for one another and threatened to put an end to Remus in order to keep his beloved. Frantic, Remus pleaded with Freya to join him so they could be together. Freya- unable to be without her fated by her side- agreed and they fled into the moonlight, never to return to her to-be and the small family.

The young mates soon settled down together, happy at last, Remus -unable to manage a pack with the past still fresh on his mind- agreed that Freya should lead them. They welcomed several wolves and adopted litter of pups together, grateful to each other and their new family for their fresh start in a beautiful land.

The Sick

During the first winter for the Dewfern pack, a terrible sickness plagued the youth of their family. The pack had no expert in medicine and all hope had been lost until a mysterious traveler arrived in Dewfern. Although the pack was wary of the young wolf, they had no other chance to save their pups from the brink of death and welcomed the newcomer with open arms. Bachelor, although very inexperienced himself, had seen this sickness before and was able to save some of the pups.  Forever grateful to him, the lead wolf, Freya, and her mate, Remus, offered him a place in Dewfern as their Herbalist.

The First Spring

The pups raised by Freya and Remus were those belonging to a she-wolf by the name of Graystone. The mother had been too old to raise them through the seasons and agreed that they would have a better future in Dewfern. Platinum, Cress, and Mist were given a grand education in hunting, readying themselves for an important future in the pack. Things were going wonderfully as planned until young Platinum and her siblings were attacked by a large eagle. Platinum showed great bravery as she fought fang and talon with the large bird to protect her siblings even when it was too late to save herself. When she was discovered by Bachelor, the herbalist, he was stricken with grief; he had grown very close with the younger pups and he felt it was his responsibility to look after them. Even now, he watches the two remaining siblings with a vigilant eye, always looking out for scrapes and bruises, sneezes and coughs.

A Guided Fall

Elder Aspen, a she-wolf who was an accomplished huntress in her youth, mentored the young pups of Dewfern during her time there. During the first autumn for the pack, she passed away peacefully. Now without a mentor, the young pups soon looked to their adoptive father to train them. Remus did his best- however he was only a scout- and soon invited an older she-wolf into their pack in hopes of giving the younger generation their best chance at an education.
