Stud Intimidation?

Stud Intimidation?

I don't know about anyone else, but I almost decided not to try to stud my boy. I was kinda hoping that with a brand new game there would be more of a clean slate, but it's filled with ten marking wolves and rare 2 bases. It kinda makes me feel like I shouldn't bother. I don't know if any other players have felt like that. One of the things I plan to do is, for a while, only breed certain girls to outside, low marking wolves to help out new players. My general plan is to build up my packs markings, I just don't want to do it with the folks who have been here for a while or who spent money to buy out markings, if that makes any sense?

Hey, it's nice that you actually elaborated your opinion, because I can definitely imagine being a little bit disappointed/overwhelmed by the pretty studs out there. I am one of those people who caved and shelled out real money to spend on a pixel wolf (that sounds so sad when I say it like that), but I can see the charm in building up your wolves' markings over the generations. That's an ambitious but cool goal! I wish I had patience like that lol. Also super nice of you to help out new players by using their studs, it's great you can think of others' playing experience like that and I am sure it will make some peoples days :)

I've decided not to concern myself with rare markings and stuff this time around. I'd rather just breed for whatever I think would look neat, or at least good stats.

Rosabala - Nothing really wrong with people who paid for the ten marking wolves (I really do get the appeal of fully customizing a ten mark wolf like that). I simply love the idea of working my way towards it. For my upcoming gen I'm only going to keep pups with 3 or more markings (or any that might have hard to find bases should they crop up), and with each new generation try to increase their markings.  And yeah, one of the reasons I only want to use the new studs is for that reason. I've always liked making people happy, and I know it will mean a lot to someone to see their stud have puppers. I've already got two lined up once my chosen girls come into heat and I'm hoping for some really cute combos.

I’m not studding my male because eh effort, and also lore. I’m not planning on seeking out studs very often either, and mostly obscure studs with low pup counts. Buuuut I’m testing some genetics stuff with my current round of breeding, and the only compatible males were fancy ones with 8-10 marks. Oops.
