So I am curious if shifters are something that only happens to some people, and if so how and how rare is it?

Okay so the ability to shift is only for some people. It's set in pretty much this time (a little later and without all this covid stuff) and only now are some otherwordly thing are being accepted. There are vampires as well which may be included for any enemies. No one fully human knows how the ability to shift came to be (it's a carefully concealed secret) but it was a series of experiments and as the first two reproduced different genes were passed on causing different shifters. It is pretty rare because, of course, not all shifters are accepted. They're considered inhuman and are treated as such. Not many humans are told because of this and it has been shared even less after the first few humans spilled their secrets. I guess 1 in 200 are shifters? I don't know math

Yeah my character likely would know rather little about shifters, thanks to her keeping her shifting a secret to keep herself safe

All good! Once everyone is subbed to the OOC we'll start with profiles and things. Not overly complicated or anything, and if you want to do long posts, go ahead but I know I usually struggle with more than a paragraph depending on how the RP is going
