Dragon Hill Wolf Pack {LORE} DNR!

Welcome traveler to the Dragon Hill Wolf pack. My name is Artemis and I'm the Pack's Lore Keeper. You could say I've been given the duty of never growing old, never dying, and forever keeping track of the comings, goings and happenings of this rather large pack. The laws of the wild apply here. You best be sure you've learned this, for our scouts and hunters won't tolerate any disrespect. Our Alphas especially won't tolerate it. But enough of the doom and gloom. You certainly didn't come here for that!

Below me will be a 'table of contents' if you will. This will give a detailed outline of the pack's founding. Who it's founders were, where they went, the travels they had, the triumphs and losses they suffered. All of this, kept track of by myself and many, many others of this grand pack. Feel free to look around. Acquaint yourself with my pack mates. Be sure to pay your respects to our Alphas. And don't forget to pay the respects to our elders! Whatever you do, do NOT forget to do this! Ankh and Mazikeen will NOT tolerate any disrespect to our elders.

Once you've done this, feel free to come back to me. Perhaps by then, I'll have more to tell you?

Photos

These photos were collected by our scouts, hunters, and various other pack members. Some of these images were alarming, more so when the Cataclysms began. Others, such as the Lunar events began, weren't as alarming, but left our leaders on edge.

The Return of the Mysterious Effigies

Envy: The return of those...mysterious Effigies was nothing new to my pack. My mother and father foretold them. Had even seen them once, not long ago. But now? Something new has stirred deep within the earth. Horses have turned into monstrous beings and there's been whispers from the Reach, that these...beasts resemble Kelpies. A horse capable of swallowing a wolf whole. I managed to battle one briefly. They're easy enough to take down if caught off guard but I dread to think what our scouts go up against. They head out there, alone. They have no one to help them should things not go according to plan. As such, I've made the decision to recall my scouting parties. I don't need no want to lose anyone. This pack has seen so much death recently, we can't afford any more.

Teardrop is now our only scout. I don't have the time to help her train another and, if we're being honest, everyone in our pack is getting old. I'm tempted to chase them. To be rid of them. To lessen the load on our hunters even as hunts have been meager pickings at best. Hunting has never been easy but after the last Cataclysm, things have just gotten worse. I worry for my pack, I know my mate, Lucian, sees it. He sees me worrying and feels helpless to help me. But what does one do when all hope feels lost? The mountains were once so bountiful for my family's pack. Now? Now they feel barren. Desolate. And lifeless. We've not hunted any big game in months now. And I've ordered the females of the pack to cease breeding till we can figure something out. It's much too expensive to be bartering what little wares we have or make, for food that barely sustains us.

Black Widow: I've only been in this pack a short time. I was borne from the Cataclysms and Envy welcomed me, as her mother welcomed her, with open paws. These...effigies are odd. Now I'm not one to go tootin my own horn as I sure as hell anit no beauty, but...these send chills down any sane wolf's back. Good thing I'm a bit bat shit crazy. But these? These make me question just what the Seven Depths have cooking up. Envy feels that with her mother's passing, it shook the balance somehow. If so, how do we correct it? That's been weighing heavily on her mind. She sits before her mother's shrine, deep in thought each day, each night, and from what I've heard, she's hardly slept. She feels that Mazikeen would know what to do, that her mother wouldn't let these things get out of hand, she feels like she's failed not just her pack but her parents. It's hard to tell someone they haven't when they feel like they have.

Shadowfur: I woke from my slumber knowing she was gone. Mazikeen. Queen of all us demons. Gone. How? When? Where? Why? She was immortal! But when I came to this....hellish place...I realized what had happened. She'd given up her immortality for the life of a mortal wolf. Even if she retained even a fraction of her immortality, it still came at a great cost. I've seen her. Her daughter. Distraught over what's happening. How do you tell the child, the daughter of the Queen of Demons, that her mother, the very being she longs to speak with, is responsible for the destruction plaguing her pack? Tch. Easier said then done. I've heard her, whispering of chasing some of her pack mates away. Perhaps it would be for the best. Save the poor child the heartbreak of what's to happen once Hell's demons are fully unleashed once the Veil thins and then breaks. Perhaps we'll see her grow a damn backbone. Who knows. Wonders never cease to amaze me. After all. I'm Mazikeen's brother. I, out of all the demons, should know her better than any.
