༺ Queen Ida ༻

The riders had arrived late last night, the night air filled with wingbeats and the calling of wyverns. Truly, Ida had yet to get used it. This evening, the start of a few great feasts were being held. One to commemorate the latest battle won, the tribes on the sea had been creeping closer and eventually a war broke out on one of the shores. The tribes were defeated, at the loss of a junior rider, but they had not came near the shores again. The next 3 days, the next three feasts, were to pay honour to the history of Draig. To the first wyverns and their riders, the Silver Winged Queens, to the Queens and Kings come before Ida and her wife and to the wyverns themselves, shaping this world so beautifully.

Ida sighed lightly, fingers wound around the stem of her wine cup. The three Headmasters, 2 on her right and one on her left. Her wife, to the left. Nobles, riders, everyone in between flooded throughout the Great Hall. Wyverns perched in the Keep, on the castle, flying overhead as they kept watch. Not every rider and wyvern was here of course, nesting wyverns and those on patrol would be away unless they were called in. The patrols would switch every so often but most riders would stay, including all of the Headmasters. Unless, of course, Akilah managed to injure herself again.

Stifling a sudden laugh, Ida gazed over the people below her again. The main course would need to be brought in soon enough, perhaps she ought to get someone to take the message down to the kitchens.

♡ Queen Calliope ♡

Once again, Calliope had gotten into a heated debate with a lord over something she couldn't even remember, but she continued to argue it out. She was clearly at least a little inebriated, her hands flailing around in the air as she made gestures. "Oh, come on! You know that's not true!" She huffed, crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow.

Who even knows what wasnt true? Certainly not her. She leaned back in her chair slightly, groaning slightly as the man started arguing again. She argued right back, uncrossing her arms once more to engage with him. About 10 minutes later they ceased talking, because they were both getting extremely angry over it. She turned her head ever so slightly, taking in her wife at her side. Ida looked beautiful as always, her black hair glistening in the fire light. A content smile crossed her lips and she let out a happy sigh.

༺ Queen Ida ༻

The chatter beside her, a pause before both Calliope and the lord dipped back into a louder argument, and then the headmaster's to her other side was comfortable and light.

After about 10 minutes the argument ceased and am almost silent but rather happy and content sigh made Ida turn, reaching a hand out. "Well? Did my darling wife win the oh so ferocious argument?" Ida teased lightly, setting the wine down. A server bent to refill it and she squeezed Calliope's hand, turning to speak to the server quickly before her attention focused back on her wife.

"The main course should be here soon enough. That, then a small break to let everyone settle before dessert." Her gaze went back towards the room, brow ever so slightly furrowed. "If it all goes to plan, of course."

⊱ Akilah ⊰

Barely two seats away, Akilah is attempting to balance a knife on its point. A lord next to her continues on with his senseless argument and they sigh, letting the knife fall. "But haven't you considered..." most voices fade away into the chatter and barely minutes later, Akilah laughs at the lord, easily victorious. Sarya pushes at the bond, checking on her rider. The storm wyvern and a few others have gathered around the windows of the Great Hall, half fights to see their riders and pushes to do something interesting.

As Aki laughs, Sarya snaps her tail and lets a playful grumble fill the air, drowned out by the natural noises and humans speaking below them. Talons scraping against the stone she flies back, twisting in the air to swoop at another wyvern in play.

♡ Queen Calliope ♡

"Psh, he never had a chance to win it, my love." She answered, chuckling slightly. Ida was the only person she tolerated teasing from, because of how absolutely unbothered the woman was. She was almost always calm, as if she were a cold winter morning after a storm. With the snow still unbroken on the ground, and no other beings in sight. She had always admired her wife for her patience.

"Oh, thank the gods. I'm absolutely famished from winning that argumeng." She said, intertwining her fingers with Ida's, a gentle smile rising to her lips, and squeezing her hand back. "I might just die if it doesnt come out soon." She said, making an overdramatic gesture.

Aonani stood by the window, a gentle gust of evening wind blowing in every now and then, flowing over his skin and soothing him. It was a small break for him, after reuniting with his friends, and sending his greetings to the royals and his headmasters. Every now and then, he'll glance out the window, watching Saphira glide around, chasing and playing with the other wyverns. She was still young, and wayyy too energetic.

Aonani sipped from his glass of wine, a blend of Syrah and Pinot Noir, relishing in the beautiful earthy and almost herbal drink. Looking out the window again, he could see Saphira weaving and circling another wyvern, performing a beautiful dance in the sky. A commotion to his right drew his attention, and gathering around the windows were a group of wyverns, trying to peek in, almost fighting for the best position.

⎯⎯ ୨ Aven Barlowe & Nimbus ୧ ⎯⎯

Opening her eyes, Aven uncrossed her arms. She'd been like that since Her Majesty Calliope and some random noble had started arguing. The wine glass lay untouched where it had been set down in front of her. Even in the presence of nobles, one could never be too careful. At the very least, Aven wanted a clear head once they had to leave.

Being intoxicated and having a wyvern that flew way too energetically never mixed well.

Absentmindedly fiddling with the edge of their silver-embroidery charcoal-gray cloak, Aven reached through the bond to sense the excitement. Nimbus made a clicking sound of joy and blasted off the ground, to playfully tackle the other storm wyvern. Aven gave a half smile and folded their hands on the table. A breath in, then out.

As usual, she wore no makeup, though her fancy outfit of hers did all she needed. Their aforementioned cloak, with black fur around the collar, was open at their left arm. It was sewed throughout with Nimbus's own scales, which caught and reflected the light with a silvery glow. The only piece of jewelry she wore was a gold band around her right wrist, etched with lightning bolts. They glanced at Aonani, one of the few students they brought along, and were pleased he was making himself known.

"How are you feeling, Akilah?" She asked her second lightly. They didn't go to big fancy things like this very often.

✧ Kurai Blackthorn ✧

With a giant SLAM, the messy-haired prince broke into the room. He had never been this late to anything before! How could he have done this?!? His shoes clattered against the floor as he finally skidded to a halt when he reached an appropriate place and took a second to hunch over himself to regain his lost breath.

When he finally gained his breath he took a normal stance and cleared his throat. "I'M HERE! I'm... here. Sorry. I was outside with the other riders and the occasion slipped my mind." It was quite unusual for him to forget something as big as this, though to be fair he wasn't quite 'there' today. He quickly gave his moms a hug, meaning he most likely interrupted something else. Normally aloof, he was anything but towards his adoptive family. Unsure where to go from here, he just began to stand there awkwardly.

༺ Queen Ida ༻

The raven haired queen startled at the loud slam, watching in amusement as her son broke into the room. The soft music stopped but with a wave they continued again. The riders below laughed and greeted the prince but he rushed to Ida and Calliope.

Pressing a kiss to her son's cheek, Ida smiled up at him. "Glad you made it. I trust the flight here was safe?" The other riders filed in, a less startling appearance. They had come from the coast she believed, the Queensguard had been sent to relieve them of their post to ensure they were able to attend at least a few feasts of the three main.

⊱ Akilah ⊰

The slam startled Akilah as well, fingers wrapping around the dagger handle in a more secure grip before they relaxed, grinning and calling to the Prince as he rushed in. The rest of his group, those guarding the coast closest to the castle, came along soon enough. Why they were so late would need to be discussed later and Akilah sent a glance to Aven, eyes widened in a quiet remark before relaxing in her seat.

Waving a hand dismissively she looked over the hall once more. "It's better than last time, for sure. These cloaks though..." A tug at the furred collar and a small laugh. "So very gorgeous, with our wyvernscale woven in, but by the Gods these are so stifling. I'd certainly rather a training cloak over this any day."

In the skies above, Sarya screeched at Nimbus, the playful activity of the group - truly just play, no need to hunt or do more than showoff - was already starting to stir up a storm. A force of almost forty wyverns, even if not all were storm, affected the lands around them. Most riders were here, spare another ten or so who were still on patrol or even overseas.

Similar to Kurai's entrance, Eresu had arrived with a loud screech and was soon followed by the other three wyverns of his group. Sarya spared a glance but returned to the mock battle between herself and Nimbus soon enough.

♎︎ Chenoah Mendes and Libra ♎︎

The blonde girl had the most neutral expression she could possibly manage as she looked around the grand hall, her footsteps quiet on the lacquered flooring. Chenoah wasn't late, but neither was she early. She didn't know many people here, and that was fine to her, but it did make big events like this a bit awkward, as she would have to find an empty spot among the tables. She almost didn't come, but her wyvern insisted. She started toward a promising table, where there were younger students sitting.
When she had found a place next to a young woman with bright red hair, she sat down and began listening to the music, grateful that the red haired girl only introduced herself and then went back to talking with some of the others at the table.

When the doors slammed open, she jumped a bit in her seat, startled, and looked to see the cause of the commotion. Ahh. Someone she recognized. She took a sip of wine as the prince and his companions strolled in, and idly wondered if there were any other latecomers to the feast.

Outside, Libra, having decided that she was not going to get involved with the collection of wyverns that were trying to see inside the windows, found a particularly nice roof and laid there to watch the antics of the others. She was a bit sad about the gathering storm, but such is life when you're around storm dragons.
The dragon mentally nudged her rider, and Chenoah nudged back. Nothing particularly interesting was happening on the inside, though Libra did mention to Chenoah about the dances in the sky, and the play-fighting, and the game of shove that was happening at the windows. The woman was tempted once again to skip the feast, and just watch the wyverns outside.

Kyler strolled into the grand hall, taking it in. Not taking the time to be quiet, or careful. He didn't know anyone here, but he figured he would get to know the others soon enough. He decided to look around the hall before taking a seat. Seats were boring, when you could be curious and explore.

What else was he to do? Sit idle? Talk? Oh no, this called for a quick exploration.

He could practically hear Pyrrhus, his wyvern scolding him, but he ignored him. It was not his fault that this place practically begged him to explore it.
He wandered around, looking at everything from tables to where the headmasters sat. Studying every single thing, and person, he possibly could. Not saying a word though, not yet. Unless someone told him off, he would carry on his exploration.
The feast could certainly wait. It looked nice though, he had to admit, but his curiousity had to be satisfied first.

Pyrrhus on the other hand was not happy about not being allowed to follow and keep Kyler out of trouble, which Kyler had a certain talent for. He kept to himself, just studying the others, but looked in through a window.

Kyler was still studying the hall, taking his time, even walking right past the headmasters, studying them too, stopped in front of them, to get a good look.
