The Four Worlds Theory

The Four Worlds Theory

Before I get into my theory, please feel free to correct any inaccuracies or add anything. I don't want this to be founded on false or incomplete information. Do cite your sources, however.

The Primary World
The Primary world is the world you and your pack live in. There are many biomes and numerous packs, and it's the first world you will ever meet, and the world you spend the most time in. At first glance, this world appears very much so like the real world, with the different animal and plant life, as well as the terrain, looking and behaving as in the real world. But there is a distinct lack of humans, and the only time we encounter them is during the Cataclysms Event.

The Lunar Realm
Running from the third to the final Friday of each month, the Lunar Event opens us up to our first otherworldly experience. During this event, the lines between the Primary World and the Lunar one blur. During the day, you collect a mysterious essence that allows you to enter the Lunar Realm when night falls. We see creatures that appear familiar, though strange. The Lunar Realm may be some sort of afterworld, where wolves and other wolvden creatures go after their death. Tala may indeed be a ghost of sorts, one that can move between the Primary World and the Lunar realm, as we see her in both. I want to go into more depth about Tala as well as her connection to Nobaby in another theory, but right now we'll focus on the worlds.
(And yes, the shopkeepers are definitely lesbians)

The Cataclysms World
The Cataclysms World is seen during the month of August, and in this event, we see yet another breach of worlds. Natural disasters ravage the landscape and strange creatures emerge from the wreckage. There are three factions, the Kinfolk, the Merged, and the Independent. They are warring, but the source of their aversion to each other is unclear. Perhaps their fighting is the reason for the Cataclysms, perhaps their world is also being ravaged and they are at odds because they disagree about how to deal with that situation.

The Human, or 'Real' World
Now, due to the fact that we see both the Cryptids and humans during the Cataclysms Event, it may be possible that they are coming from the same world. Indeed, many of the Cryptids are creatures from folklore and urban legends, but these are creatures so rare that most humans don't believe in them. So is it possible that the Cryptids come from a world that is opened by natural disasters? That enough to spread legend, but not confirm it, have entered the human world through these disasters? We do know from the Cataclysms lore that the Primary World has never experienced natural disasters before, which explains why we haven't encountered the Cryptids before. And now, there are such extreme disasters as to not only link the human and cryptid world, but also the primary world.

And there we have it. Four worlds, interconnected in different ways. There are likely going to be more events, and thus more worlds could be added.

Now, I've yet to experience the Coigreach Event, so if it confirms, expands, or disproves any of my theories, please let me know.

I'm going to go work on my Tala and Nobaby Theory.
