Early Summer, Year 4

Year 4 of Juneau's Reign

Key Events:
  • In the depths of winter, Bethel birthed 3 pups - 2 girls and 1 boy, which she named (in order of age): Moraine, Cedar, and Koda. Despite her ageing body, she has managed to see them grow into adolescents. She died shortly after.
  • Atka and Kodiak adopted another puppy, which they called Timber, and raised him near to adulthood. Tragically, the apprentice chaser died during a hunting expedition, crushed by a falling ox. Broken by so much pain and hurt in their lives, Atka vowed she was done with raising puppies. Kodiak is sceptical that is truly the case, but he longs for the day that Moody will come home.

  • Anchorage, fed up of feeling like an outcast, decided to travel beyond the pack in search of her and Sitka's only pup - Adak - though she feels in her heart he may truly be lost to her. Despite trying to convince Sitka to join her, he refused, still bound to Juneau by an unwavering loyalty. Tragically, her body was found by Emmonak during a scouting expedition several weeks later. It is unclear how she died, but the theory is starvation.

  • With Anchorage gone, Juneau finally allowed Sitka to rejoin Main Pack, taking pity on his now absolute loneliness.

  • After years of no pups, and frustration on Emmonak's part, Juneau finally decided to start a family with him. The couple were nervous and excited to welcome their 6 pups: Kelowna, Nanaimo, Aq'am, Komoks, Matsqui, and Kanaka.
  • Pine joined the pack.

  • Juneau ousted Druid from the Main Pack due to his wanton ways - begetting several of the females pregnant with pups. To teach the yearling to take responsibility for his actions and that they have consequences, she forced him to take care of the females and his incoming pups on his own. Sadly, several of the pups did not make it, and most of the females left. Now only Druid and Somber remain, raising their only surviving pup, Eclipse.

Late Winter, Year 5

Year 5 of Juneau's Reign

Key Events:
  • Following the death of his mother, Koda decided to leave the pack, setting out to make a new life for himself. Moraine and Cedar, meanwhile, decided to stay with the pack their mother had always considered family.

  • Packs across the land had been rocked by mysterious disappearances, and whilst Loopis Pack had managed to avoid the tragedy initially, it was the subsequent disappearance of Cedar (Bethel's eldest daughter), Eclipse (Druid and Somber's eldest), and Komoks (one of Juneau and Emmonak's pups), that spurred Juneau into action. Having discovered the source of the disappearances, Juneau sacrificed two of her own pups - Matsqui and Kanaka - to the spirit Bronagh, to stop the disappearances from happening. Although devastated by the decision, she knew she could not ask another wolf to sacrifice their pups in her place. Knowing Emmonak, already distressed by the loss of his son, would never consent, she confided in her eldest remaining child - Couver - who made the painful decision of which two pups to lead away from their pupsitter to Bronagh's lair.

Upon his discovery of another two of his pups having been taken by the spirit, Emmonak flew into a grief-stricken rage, and lashed out at his mate. In the ensuing chaos, Couver lunged at his step-father in an attempt to protect his mother, tussling with the much stronger male, and earning several dreadful injuries in the process. It was only when Sitka intervened, landing several horrific bites on Emmonak, that the stronger male released Couver, who was bleeding profusely. During the succeeding fight, Sitka, though earning himself several bad bites, managed to lock his jaws on the side of Emmonak's face, completely destroying his right eye.

Close to death, Emmonak was dragged to the Quarrantine Cave by Couver and Sitka. Desperate to save his life, Diomede spent hours chewing various herbs to make salves for his eye - salves to stem the bleeding, slave to fight off infection, salves to help him bear the pain. Eventually the scout pulled through, though didn't seem the same anymore. The once charming wolf was withdrawn and sullen, refusing to talk more than was strictly necessary, and no more than a few words if he could help it. It seemed he not only mourned for his lost pups, but for his lost eye as well.

When he did finally rejoin main pack, he spent his time pupsitting his remaining pups, but refused to talk to Juneau. When he did finally utter words to her, it was to request that they break their pairbond. Although heartbroken, she couldn't blame him, and agreed.

  • Ketchikan and Diomede welcomed their first litter together. Given her age, it was expected that not all the pups would make it, so they were quietly resigned when three out of the four did not survive the birth. They named their only surviving pup Whistler.

  • So alike in personality, it only seemed natural Couver and Elowyn would feel a strong pull towards one another, and decide to pairbond.

  • They say opposites attract, and it's never been truer than in the case of Ghost and Pine - most of the pack don't understand how such an unfriendly wolf managed to convince the most amiable one going he was pairbond material, but she must see something in him others just don't.

Work in progress

Summer, year 6

- Winter hit the pack exceptionally hard this year, with food incredibly scarce. It resulted in a lot of wolves starving, and consequently leaving the pack.

- Moody returned to the pack.

- Atka and Kodiak, now rapidly aging, welcomed a single pup, who they named Moòs. Despite Atka's age, he is incredibly strong, and resembles his mother. Moody took to him immediately, and they formed a strong brotherhood.

- Koyuk and Buckland welcomed their first litter, but only one pup survived the birth. They named him Kindred due to the striking resemblance to his father.

- Buckland, a seasoned Finisher at level 20, finally retired from hunting due to his age, and became a mentor.

- Arwyn and Ithildor joined the pack.

- Nanaimo and Whistler died due to fevers from an illness that spread throughout the pack.

- Kelowna left the pack, and bore two pups of her own.

- Sitka and Juneau, feeling the march of time as they aged, decided life was too short and rekindled their pairbond. They welcomed a litter of 4 pups: Nadinako, Yahto, Botanie, and Siqoq. Botanie left the pack as an adolescent due to her adventurous nature and found a home with another pack. Yahto seems very distant since his favourite sister left, and spends most of his time wondering the territory alone. Juneau and Sitka suspect he was will leave, or become a travelling, lone wolf.

- Couver and Elowyn welcomed their first litter on Christmas Day. Unfortunately one of the 3 didn't make it, but they named the two surviving pups Amisk and Anyox.

- Ketchikan retired from Stalking, having adopted Conuma with Diomede, and passed away peacefully in her sleep several months later. Diomede was heartbroken at his mate's passing, but has busied himself with his herbalist work, and his step-pups have helped kept him sane. He views the trio as a blessing, and is touched that they treat him as if he was their biological father, especially since Whistler's passing. Even as he feels the ache in his bones his mate felt before her passing, he feels confident the pack is in good hands with Nightmute ready to take over his role when he inevitably leaves his mortal body.

- Emmonak and Aq'am left Main Pack and have been living on the fringes since a major argument erupted between Emmonak and Couver, over the latter's legitimacy to take over the Cedar Crown. Emmonak believes his son, as Juneau's eldest surviving legitimate offspring, should take over when she passes, to ensure the legitimacy of the royal line. Juneau put an end to the argument by decreeing that succession would follow the female line, to avoid doubt over legitimacy, passing to the eldest child. This pushes Couver's two daughters, Amisk and Anyox, from 2nd and 3rd in line to the bottom of line of succession. This has infuriated Elowyn, as she feels the legitimacy of her children are being called into question. The line of succession is now: Couver, Aq'am, Nadinako, Siqoq, Yahto, Amisk, Anyox.

Work in progress:

— Sitka passed away, devastating Juneau. She followed her mate not long after, suffering from a long bout of sickness. She lived to an age the pack had never seen before.
— Following Juneau's death, the pack fractured as Aq'am claimed himself the rightful Alpha over his brother, Couver, despite their mother's decree around succession before her death. Emmonak and several others have sided with him, and war has broken out amongst the pack.
