Duplicate the layer of the thing you want glowing. Find your software's filters menu, select blur, put a gaussian blur on the duplicate layer you just made. This will essentially cause the layer to become so blurred it's pretty much a glow effect. You can put this glow above or below the layer of the thing that's glowing based on preference. You may want to tweak its colour or brightness a bit if that looks better. If you want to gently soften lines: Apply the weakest blur filter you can to the layer with the lines you want softened. If you want to tweak colours: Find your software's area for editing hue/saturation and brightness/contrast. This will usually be somewhere in the edit menu. Play around to your heart's content. If you want to edit specific bits of a layer but not the whole thing, make a layer on top, set it to 'hue' or 'colour' layer type, and then paint the correct hue or colour over the bits you want changed. |
