1. Experience. Any stories, good or bad? 2. Pricing. Same as selling the female, more, or less? Demanding payment up front, or purchasing the pups as payment? 3. Etiquette. What do you do if they refuse to pay? How long do you hold on to the pups if they don't log on again? |

2. Pricing depends on the female. Being level 20/close to max level, having low generation or rarer lineage, being T3, having combo marks or raffle marks as well as having raffle eyes are all things that would make the female more valuable. Pricing is up to you, but usually it would be less than selling the wolf. For one reference, I've paid 20-30GC for a level 20, plain G1 heats. You could likely get more for a G1/G2 that has extra valuable traits. In my experience, the buyer always sends over the nesting material, an Instant Pup Delivery, a sage if wanted and sends payment up-front for the entire stud fee and the heat fee. That way, the seller is protected if the pups do not turn out as the buyer wants and tries to back out. I have also seen people ask for the heat fee when they exchange the pups after they wean, but it is up to you. Additional note that is is good practice to guarantee pup survival, so make sure you have enough pupsitters to protect every pup to 100%. 3. I can't say, since this has not been my experience. If you are worried about refusal to pay, ask for everything up-front. If the person completely ghosts you afterwards or doesn't log on, it's really up to you. I'd personally hold pups for at least a week, if not two, since I can afford a few extra mouths to feed. But I wouldn't feel obligated to hold for longer than that personally. Overall, even if something bad happens, you're protected the most in the transaction since you still own the wolf and you've lost one heat, at most. Good communication is key for both parties. |
