Start of the Wild Souls

  Shira, a wolfdog originally raised by humans, set out to follow her instincts and live in a pack. Due to her obvious bloodline, the packs she encountered were less than friendly, and she was chased out. She travelled for many moon cycles, eventually finding Daer at a human settlement. She noticed that he seemed to wander aimlessly around the area, complacent to what was going on around him, and she convinced him to join with tales of the wilds and what can happen, peaking his interest. This started the bloodline of wolfdogs called the Wild Souls Pack.

First Litter

  Shira and Daer travelled far, ending up within the forests, and within this time, found themselves in the situation many do- like each other. Within Shiras next heat, they took it as an ample opportunity to continue the wolfdog line, wanting to show the possibility wolf blood doesn't need to be 'pure' to be strong. Giving birth to a litter of two, a grey female they named Nela, and a pitch black male they named Hyran. This then officially started the bloodline. It was surprising to see one of the pups had been grey, and neither inherited the markings the parents held, but they held the wolfblood lineage of Wild Souls, and were welcomed as a celebration of triumph for the pack.

Strange Dreams

  Within the first while of the new territory, Shira had a normal life of raising her pups and looking out for her new family, but then the strange dreams happened. She seemed to be in a lucid state, moving around the dreamlands. It wasn't much different than the wake-world, aside from the obvious fact it looked completely different with blue spores and strange energy in the air, so she moved with caution. Her caution was proven useful when she came across animals that would usually be hunted covered in the spores, and she definitely didn't understand them, so she avoided them when she knew she wouldn't win. She tried to seem as passive as possible when some spoke to her and helped out when she could, which seemed to get her on the good side of such animals. Learning how to traverse the dreamlands, she continued as normal while asleep.

The Bear

As time passed on, as the wilds do; sickness came. Nothing deadly came this time, but within the wilds there was a chance that sickness would come again and take a worse toll within the pack. Strangely enough- somewhat thankfully, a bear had been following the scent along with the words of the spirits, a wolf at his side. This bear held the knowledge of medicine at his paws, and the wolf accompanying him, named Kile, offered his temporary services as a healer for the pack. Kile also offered to train the young Nela in the art of herbalism, and then agreed to depart after she was able to fulfil the role within the pack.

Weaning

  Summer starts with the warming of the air, and finally Nela and Hyran were weaned from their mother. This meant that they could start their training. Nela was taken under the wing of Kile to become the next herbalist, and Hyran is training under those who have the time in order to learn as much as he can. The summer starts off well with this, and hopefully it will continue with such endeavours for the future. The pups still have a long way to go, with vulnerabilities to everything that the wilds can throw at them for the first year of their life.

More Wolves

Despite wanting the pack to be purely blooded of Shira and Daer, they realized they couldn't take care of a pack by themselves and their pups. Five more wolves came into the pack; three adults and two pups, and Shira decided that more paws meant more work could be done despite having more mouths to feed. The adults were named Yumi, Milo, and Akane, the pups Tirre and Linet. After some time, Linet and Yumi parted ways, wishing farewell to the new pack. Tirre, Milo and Akane stayed.

Wounded Scout

Milo came back from a scouting mission one day with a particularly nasty wound from a fight that happened while out. In order to avoid it getting infected, Kile foraged herbs to create a remedy- which worked wonders. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to keep the wound from scarring- but Milo didn't seem to mind. According to him he won the fight. The truth won't be known, but it'll be fine to take his word for it.

New Generations

Tirre became of age, and with that came her first heat. Daer was easily persuaded by instincts, and sure enough pups were to be expected. Of course timing had Akane in her own heat, which meant more bloodlines for the pack in the future. Tirre and Akane decided to stay and keep providing, whether decided by instinct of motherhood or personal decision no one will know. The future generations will be the future of the pack, and only time will tell how they survive and thrive.

Sickness With No Cure

Akane acquired a cough, but there was no way to acquire the herbs at the moment, so she was quarantined to a new 'healing den' in hopes it would go away. Winter is on its way, and things will get worse. She is with pups and who knows how that will affect them, but if it gets worse or continues Kilo decided he would go to the bear and see if she had any of the required herbs to treat it.

Expansion

Tirre gave birth to 2 pups; a dark grey female with a light throat and white tipped tail, and a black male with husky markings. The female was named Linne and the male Niel. Akane gave birth to 5; a black female with grey and brown markings, a grey male with red-brown markings, a black male with grey and brown markings, a pure black female, and a black female with only brown markings. They were each named in order; Moli, Gram, Alex, Zera, Caise.

Sickness Ensues

The cough came back to the pack and inflicted Tirre this time, who was immediately moved to the Healing den. There's speculation that it's residual from Akane during the birthing before she was given the medicine, but because it's known to be not lethal all can be done is quarantine and hope it doesn't spread more, having a cure on hand just in case it gets out of hand.

Spread

Tirre's sickness spread to her pup, Linne. It's suspected that it'll spread to the rest within the healer's den, and quarantine became stricter; allowing only Tirre and her pups along with Kile into the healer's den, as well as causing a pause on hunting until the sickness is cured.

Unfortunate News

Gram, one of Akane's pups, had been found dead within the territory. The suspect is coyotes, but the trail was lost and deemed them untraceable. The pack mourned the loss of the pup who barely lived past one month.

Another Sick Pup

Neil, Tirre's second pup, finally caught the cough that she and Linne had. It seems to be affecting their quality of life, and it's hoped that it can be cured before it affects them to the point of no return, otherwise it's required that the cough serum is in need once more, this time more of the serum since there are now more wolves who are infected.

Another New Wolf

A wolf by the name of Sara happened along the pack and asked to join. Shira decided that it would be best to keep able wolves where they could get them, and allowed her to stay with promise to earn her keep.

New Trainees

Akane's pups weaned and can now begin training. Tirre's pups can also begin training, however with the sickness they carry they are in no condition to and are still quarantined with their mother in the healing den. Kile decided its gone on long enough and went to the bear for cure.

Finally Cured

After Kile took the initiative and went to find the bear to get a cure for cough, Tirre and her pups were finally free of the dreadful illness, making it so life in the pack can go back to normal. They are staying in the Healing Den for a little longer to make sure that they were fully cured.

Moving

It was clear that the herbs necessary for certain ingredients couldnt be found in the forest they called home, and food was easier found in the prairies, so after careful decision making Shira decided that it was best to move the pack.

Mutation in The Pack

A wolfdog named Apache found the Wild Souls just after their move and asked to stay because she had domestic lineage, obvious of her blue eyes. They seemed to be the only thing that wasnt colored pitch-black. Shira decided that since the pack was founded on wolfdogs and the determination to show that blood didnt show someone's strength; she allowed the wolf to stay.

Another Lost Pup

Akane's pup Moli was unfortunately found by Milo unmoving and mangled; seemingly snagged and dropped by what seemed to be an eagle, and the pack mourns for her. Theres no way to track an eagle so the culprit will never be found.

Birth With No Visible Mutation

Apache gave birth to her litter, consisting of four pups, and to their knowledge they did not have the same mutation that Apache held herself, but Kile stated that the possibility for at least one of them to carry it was there. The four pups consisted of an ashen female, ashen male, willow-colored male, and another ashen male. Each pup was named in order; Ael, Mir, Sam, and Larim.

Pup Found

One morning Shira had gone through her usual walk through the territory when she found a pup; she looked weaned as she smelt of no milk, but was almost half the normal size. Knowing that this pup was a runt dropped off for some predator to come along and snag up, it was decided to bring her back to the pack. Shira didn't know whether it was a decision made by her motherly instincts due to still carrying her own litter that was yet to be born, or the respect for the pup's strength and determination in trying to survive. Back at the den, realizing the black-pelted pup had no name, Shira decided to name her Clio and add her as a fully-fledged trainee within the pack. Due to her size it was decided she would train under Daer as a second pupsitter, but she was perfectly content with that decision.

Second Alpha Litter

Shira finally gave birth to the second litter she was carrying, and it consisted of three pups, all female. Two black and one grey; the one with the white throat and tail tip like her father was named Sael, grey with white markings like her mother named Olia, and the last black pup with markings like her mother was named Frei. This added one more Generation to the Alpha lineage and another generation of possibility for the next heir for when the year came for her and her mate to retire, or in the case of passing whether due to illness, injury, or naturally.

Hunter, Herbalist, Traveller

With Hyran and Nela becoming of age, Hyran was able to fufil his role within the hunters, and Nela was able to become the herbalist of the pack. This meant that Kile had fulfilled his promise, and was now ready to depart after the last task of Shira's birthing. Nela was sad to see him go but understood, and the pack will miss him but he was a traveller, and they were honored that he stayed long enough to mentor Nela into becoming the Herbalist she could be. She wasn't as knowledgable yet, but she would be with age and she was young which meant she had plenty of time to learn and perfect her craft as she helped and healed her packmates.

Infection

Hunting is a dangerous thing, and the pack experienced their first infection when Tirre came back with a wound near her eye. Thankfully it hadn't infected her eye, but despite insisting it was alright Nela convinced her that it was infected after it started taking a toll on her body and the symptoms started showing. It left a scar, but Nela's knowledge allowed Tirre to keep her eyesight and her life. It wouldn't affect her duties as a hunter or her daily activities either. Now that the pack had seen its first infection, hopefully, the next wouldn't be as stubborn and would get it treated right away.

Swamp

The swamp was Milo's next target of exploration, but found it surprisingly difficult. Because of this, he asked the pack's Stalker, Akane, to aid him temporarily in traversing the terrain- which she accepted with permission from Shira. It's a slow trek, the difficult terrain is hard for them both, but they are determined to finish their work until Akane is once again needed as a hunter or the swamps are completely traversed.

Sara's Pups

Sara, one of the chasers, had been out of commission while all this had happened due to carrying pups and being instructed to nest to ensure her safety, and now she had given birth to 2 healthy pups; a black pelted male with a lighter throat, and a female with a light throat the same as her brother, but with the same cream markings her mother held on her shoulders. They are both healthy and will add to the possible hunters for the pack in the future unless their fates take them elsewhere.

The Dreamlands Come Again

Once more, the dreamlands entered Shira's mind, though she was expecting it this time, and it was easier to traverse. Seemingly it was once a year, so it was expected to come again next year, but the season in which it came was unknown. Thankfully it posed no threat and is seemingly only available to Shira for the time being.

Sael's Demise

Sael, Shira's pup from her most recent litter, has been caught by coyotes, Shira is grieving, the other pups scared of the same thing happening to them. The pack has now experienced its third pup death, and is slowly getting used to it, but it will never get easier. They mourn the loss, feeling defeated over the fact the trail of coyotes could once again not be found.

Bowels Again

Shira has contracted her bowel illness once again, though this time there were no ingredients to create the cure, so both Nela and Shira hope that it will clear up in order to avoid extended uncomfortable daily activities. Thankfully it's known to not be contagious, but if it lasts long enough Nela will have to request ingredients from the Bear that brought Kile originally.

Pupsitting Apprentices

Clio is now aged to six months, meaning she is able to become an apprentice and work under Daer to become another pupsitter eventually, and hopefully help avoid more pup accidents and deaths in the future. She is determined to learn after hearing of Sael, and promised to work hard.

Trainees

Frei and Olia thankfully were able to become Trainees, and are both training to become hunters. Frei will become the Stalker of a future hunting party, and Olia will be a Chaser in the same party. Sael would have become a Stalker, however her sister decided to train for it in her name.

Human Trap Chaos

Dane, one of Sara's pups, had been fiddling around with a human contraption, and caught his leg in it. Thankfully it wasn't more than a gash that would leave a scar, but now the pack has to be vigilant for more traps and human activity in the future. Shira knows that these traps have broken bones, and was thankful this wasn't the case.

War With Coyotes

Sybil, Sara's other pup, had disappeared one morning. With further investigation it seemed to be coyotes once more that played a role in the pup's demise, and it's now a debate whether or not Daer is doing his job as a pupsitter properly. Another thought that occurred was whether it was wise to move from the forest to the plains, and it got Shira thinking, but for now the debate is over with the reassurance Shira will do all she can to make sure coyotes don't get near the dens, and that their pack is in a spot that provides easier access to food and herbs.

First Case Distemper

Akane had been found with hardened pads, nose, and a fever. This wasn't the same as the infection that Tirre had in the spring however, and Nela diagnosed it quickly with the knowledge taught to her from Kile as Distemper; a contagious disease that can be lethal if not cured. The cure was able to be made quickly, and there was no need for Akane to go back to the Healing Den as she had been when she originally had her cough in the past.

Back To The Old Grind

After some time, it was clear that even with Akane helping out in the swamps, it was still hard to traverse. With this in mind the decision was clear that it was best for Akane to go back to what she was best at and continue hunting. It will be slow but Milo is still determined to traverse the harsh terrain.

New Gen Chaser

Dane finally aged up to become a Trainee, eager to become a chaser and make his way through to the next generation of hunters that will eventually become a hunting party of his siblings and more wolves within his generation.

Hot Summer

Summer brought heat; including a case of heatstroke. Frei caught it one day, but thankfully it was able to be cured before it got worse. Heatstroke is lethal if left untreated, and in hot summers it's easy to get.

Time Cured

Shira's bowel illness thankfully ran its course and disappeared over time. There were no serious repercussions during the illness and due to not being a contagion, no one had been infected with the same ailment.

Ael, Mir, Sam

Ael, Mir, And Sam all became Apprentices, however while Mir and Ael had no qualms with staying within the pack, Sam had another idea; and with him noticing the trend of monochrome colors within the pelts of his packmates, he notified his mother he felt out of place, and despite her trying to convince him to stay, it was eventually agreed upon that with the feelings he held and the rising numbers of the pack, it was the perfect opportunity.

Another Permanent Scout

A female by the name Dyanne joined the pack and promised to use her skills in scouting in order to help the pack, seeing as there were already other roles filled. With this she was welcomed into the pack and ready to be put to work with Milo.

Hunting Group Two

There are now enough hunters in the party, and it was decided that there would be a second hunting party made of a younger generation for when the first lost their energy to hunt for the day.

Second Litters

Tirre and Akane finally gave birth to their second litters. Tirre's consisted of three; two males and a female. Akane's consisting of three males and one female.

One Step Closer

Olia and Frei from Shira's second litter are one step closer to being Hunters after aging into Apprentices, ready to learn paws-on with the hunters on their routes.

Sara's Pup

Dane, Sara's last remaining pup within the pack, has now become an Apprentice, and is ready to train under the hunters to become a trained Chaser for the pack.

First Time Flu

Shira got sick once more, but this time with a fever and discharge. They thought it was distemper, like Akane got in the past, but Nela knew it was different and quickly diagnosed it as the flu in order to not give the wrong medicine. The problem was that they didn't have the right herbs to make the medicine, and with it being so contagious, everyone needed to keep an eye out in order to make sure it didn't get out of hand while she went to the bear for herbs.

An Exception

With debate, Shira decided that Dyanne, despite being a scout, could breed and is now with a litter of pups in her belly. New bloodlines are important, and if the only pups being produced were hers, then there would be no variation in blood which would make things very complicated. With Daer being the only one allowed to breed without a pair bond however, it meant that even so, the pups wouldn't be able to breed within the wolves born in the pack.

Pupsitters

Clio, the runt Shira found in the woods, is now of age and ready to fully assist Daer with pupsitting in order to ensure the safety of the pack's pups.

Bonded

Clio and Neil have decided to pair bond with the blessing of Shira, and adds one more bloodline not directly linked to Shira

Sick Herbalist

Nela, the pack Herbalist, caught the Influenza that some of the wolves had spread. She moved to the Healing Den before deciding enough was enough and went to look for the bear in order to acquire a cure.

Flu stopped, another illness found.

Shira, Nela, Alex, Apache, and Sara had all caught the massively infectious Influenza, and after Nela was affected by the illness, she decided to go to the bear. By the time the last three were infected she had come back with just enough herb to make the medicine, and cured all the wolves infected just in time to stop the spread. Mir was found with another illness however; cystitis.

Dyanne's Litter

Dyanne, the pack scout, gave birth finally, and it consisted of two males with light throats, one of black fur and the other of jet.

Wounded Hunter

Alex was wounded during the hunt he was sent on, but thankfully Nela knew what to do when he got back, and a salve was applied. One more scar to add to him, but he insisted it was 'character building'.

Hunting Suprize

Neil was hunting with his party, when they found a small pup. They may have lost the hunt that day, but gained an interesting find. It was clear that the pup was a runt, and seemed to be dropped to perish because of that. Clio, being a runt herself, convinced Shira to let her keep and raise the pup.

Clio's Blood

Not soon after adopting the pup they named Jessie, Clio gave birth to two female pups. Jyra, a black pup with husky markings and blue eyes, and a pure black pup with green eyes named Nhilas.

Another Human Incident

Linard, one of Dyanne's pups, was found just outside the pack territory. The scent of humans was around the body, and no one knew how he even got out of the sight of the pack at his age. He is the pack's fifth unfortunate pup death.

Apache's Second Litter

Apache gave birth to a second litter of three pups, a chocolate female  named Pierre, a birch-colored male named Birt, and a honey-colored male named Holin.

Mir and Ael As Adults

Mir and Ael finally aged up, and Ael had her first heat, despite not having a wolf to breed her. There aren't any duties to be fulfilled within the time, and they are currently duty-less.
