Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich Worth it or Not?

Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich Worth it or Not?

Specifically the fair food philly cheese steak. or food truck I guess? Well, I've never had one besides around town in restaurants, is there much difference? Is it better or just more expensive as all the fair food besides the popcorn seemed high priced. I paid 12$ for a blooming onion when a restaurant in town sells em for 9$. The Popcorn was 5$ which was a steal for our area. our local movie theatre sells larges at $7.50 A candied apple I considered but they want 5$ for it. They were out of cheese steak tonight and i didnt get a chance to read their sign inside their booth to see what the price was. but the food truck has theirs at 8$ down in the plaza.

I mostly was looking to buy one for the experience. Over the past five years I haven't been out of the house much for anything besides hospital visits, er visits, blood work, shots, appointments and groceries. So that means money has been sparse for me too.

Thanks for the help!

In my opinion, it wouldn't be worth it. I can find a philly cheesesteak almost anywhere I go. When I go to fairs, I focus on things I can't really find elsewhere or don't want enough to learn how to make it at home - funnel cakes, candied apples, etc. But if I saw somebody carrying a delicious looking philly cheesesteak around the fair... I can't say my opinion wouldn't change lol. Maybe try and see if you can catch a peep of somebody's sandwich before making up your mind!

I'm a sucker for overpriced carnival/fair food because it's so junk-ish and horrible for the human body, it just adds to the experience for me.

Is it worth it? Taste-wise, absolutely not. It's the exact same sandwich you'll get at every other fair in any other place. It's only worth it for the experience. You'll find a much better tasting sandwich somewhere else for that high price.

If it's not in Philly, it's not a Philly cheese steak. No one makes a Philly cheese steak like Philly does. The same way that no one does pizza like NY/NJ. I can get pizza anywhere, but it's never the same... Doesn't mean bad, just not the same.
