Not sure if you still need the help, but for anyone else, you click on the medicine item in your hoard and it will give you a "use on" drop-down menu. Since you likely only have the one sick wolf that one should already be selected for you. Then you just hit "use item".

You can also go to the Herbalist, click on the "Sick Wolves" tab, and use the cure from there. Of course, this only works if the cure is in your inventory, not buried.
