Development Update #18

Posted 2022-05-07 20:11:25
Great! I just got rid of all my wolves cause not being able to send multiple parties out at once was getting really annoying, guess I should have held out a bit longer lol but really REALLY happy we can send multiple parties now!

Super excited for the new marks, I just really hoped the game would stray farther from applications, and introduced markings and bases entirely through breeding.

I like the hunting update!  Since I'm only allowed on my phone on breaks at work, being able to send out multiple parties for longer periods of time works much better with my schedule. It's definitely going to help level my pack up a little faster.

I really like this update, this is my first rollover since Dec. One of the reasons was that I really liked my wolves and there weren't enough ways to level them up unless I used a puppy training farm... which ended up not being fun haha. I hope future updates are like this, more incentives to level up wolves would be nice!

Loving the hunting changes. Didn't properly play for months because I don't always have the time/energy to log in constantly and as such, my wolves were going hungry and my other hunting parties were losing synergy while they waited to die. Now the game is fun to play casually again and I love it! I had missed my pack and have loved these past few days. I can finally explore somewhere besides the tundra again, too!

I can't read all 12 pages of comments, I haven't seen it addressed in the post, and I don't know whether this is a feature I've not been able to see typed up or a bug, but:
When I go to another territory to hunt, the success percentages go down. Not entirely sure, but I think it does raise as I continue to hunt there. My guess is it's part of the update, but I just wanted to confirm other users are having this, and that it isn't a bug.

Yes, the areas at the ends of the map (Rainforest and Glacier) are much more difficult to hunt in than Mountains/Grasslands/Deciduous. As you move toward those far areas the percentages of hunting success go down because those areas are intentionally more difficult.

I see I've been looking at the "+15 travel time," and not the actual biomes themselves, which I think is my issue. I was having a noticeable decline in successful hunt chances, and was confused as it was "not that far away!" Turns out, it was the Coniferous Forest and understandably that'd cause issues. I thought perhaps my teams had to get to know the lay of the lands when hunting farther away from me.
