Looking for: Long-Term Discord RP partner | 1 x 1

Looking for: Long-Term Discord RP partner | 1 x 1
Posted 2020-10-23 02:00:43 (edited)

Hello! It's nice to meet you. I'm not usually one to post these kinds of ads, as I've found that usually, nothing comes out of it- but I thought I may as well reach out across the void and express my interest in possibly taking on 1 or 2 long-term rp-partners- as all of my current partners are either away on vacation or are busy with their IRL lives.

I suppose I'll share a little about me?

  • You can call me Loony or Lori.
  • I'm currently 20 Years old
  •  I personally really don't care what pronouns you call me by, though most refer to me as she/her.
  • I currently studying full-time online and have been lucky enough to score a scholarship in the creative arts.
  • Roleplayed for 11 years+

What I am seeking...

I am seeking a casual RP partner. A great deal of my time is spent studying, as I'm expected as a scholarship student to receive higher grades than most of my peers. That, on top of my IRL responsibilities and the fact that I also am considered a representative of my university, means that there will likely be times where I'll simply be unable to, or will be far too exhausted to respond quickly.

Thus, my response times will be sporadic in nature. Sometimes I'll be extremely quick, replying 8-9 times a day; other times it could be once every two weeks. I'll always do my best to keep you updated on my availability, and as I greatly enjoy making friends, it is my hope that we'll get to know each other enough to chat OOC on a regular basis. I'm extremely active on discord due to the nature of my uni course, so I'm always online to chat- even if I don't have time or energy to respond to our roleplay.

In terms of the actual roleplay, my specific requirements are:

  • That we roleplay in chapters/episodes. I can't keep up well with single, long-winded rps, and prefer that we simply plot out the interactions into sections- for example, one roleplay could consist of our characters meeting in a bar, and it ends once your character leaves to go to their shift at their job. Then a time skip will occur before progressing to the next interaction. How small or big that time skip will be up for debate.
  • That responses consist of at minimum 3-4 well-written paragraphs (of at least 3-4 sentences) minimum and take place in 3rd person. In my opinion, to foster a great story in roleplay, replies need to be consistent and give enough substance to both add to the atmosphere, and give the other player a good chunk to reply to.
  • I would like for us to maintain a Discord server for our roleplays. I enjoy collecting muses and inspiration for my roleplays, as well as to occasionally mess with Bots, and I like to have multiple chatrooms to organize this. I also enjoy chatting in VC from time to time, but this is not a requirement. I am an avid gamer, so I'd also be more than willing to join you for some nice gaming sessions if you're willing.

  • I enjoy the exchanging of art, but if you're not an artist, that's okay- so long as you understand I will only make the art that I want to. Should the art feature your character, I ask that you respect me and don't post it anywhere or re-use it, make changes etc, without my express permission.

  • To be even more clear: Do not expect me to make art of our roleplays- on the rare occasion I have time to do art for myself, I will only make art if our roleplays are particularly inspiring to me.

What you can expect from me:

The excerpt below is an example of my own writing, to let you know exactly what to expect from me. While I don't require as many paragraphs back, for the sake of fairness I'll expect something of similar quality.

A torrential storm, an unwavering resolve to keep her head above water. Everything hurt. She was drowning, and there were no lifeguards to save her.

Pressure upon her chest. Fur. Warm and soft like freshly washed linen. A long draw of breath that dulled the faint echo of pain that ached all around her.

All sensations bled into one another, muddying her grasp on reality. Like attempting to mix paint for the first time, she achieved an ugly gray mixture of all the wrong amounts of color. Smells that she first thought were sounds, sights that followed strange tastes; the slight pressure around her that she couldn’t decide was either rough or gentle.

Something burned and sizzled. The crackle in her ear became more defined, 'Where am I?'

There was a whisper. A name; familiar, yet distant- as though she hadn’t heard it for a century, but couldn’t never forget it due to its significance.

At once she became conscious of the ground; had been laying on it for some time, un-noticing its existence, yet suddenly so aware of it that it felt as though she had slammed into it at full force.

A loud bang, like the slamming of a door, yet louder, fiercer. She didn’t really hear it the first time, but felt it jolt through her entire body like lightning.

Another. Then three more.

A command. REMEMBER.

The sound seemed to fade into a piercing ring by the last shot. She opened her eyes, blinded by the piercing light that seemed to pry her eyes open with all the force of a hurricane.

She blinked, the light grew darker. She tried to remember… what? Remember what?

Sirens that blended into screams. Terror. She could place a feeling of terror. 'Too fast… Everything is going too fast.'

All slowed. She opened her eyes again, took a breath and allowed herself a moment to focus. She noticed a mass of fur curled up on her chest. Ginger fur. A pair of familiar green eyes peered at her from a face in that lump. The face of a cat.

'Not my cat…' That’s right. She had a cat. Arthur. Where had she seen him last?

She hissed; brought a hand to hold her head as if she could somehow pry away the sudden flush of pain that shot through her mind. Images flashed like photographs, memories that should have been moving, but remained still because she couldn’t recall the events between the pages.

Content:

Now onto the fun part!

I LOVE original storylines. I eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I rarely ever roleplay fandom content. However, whilst I prefer to roleplay with OCs and original storylines, I am willing to roleplay fandoms so long as we stick to the lore, and don't RP as canon characters. In simple, OCS in fandoms, yes. Canon characters? No touchy.

In a simple list form, these are the topics I am most interested in...

  • Wolves ***
  • Lions
  • Equines
  • Dragons
  • Warrior cats
  • Hunger Games
  • Pokemon
  • Harry Potter ***
  • Avatar: the Last Airbender (not including Legend of Korra.)
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • The Elder Scrolls Series *** (particularly Skyrim)
  • Supernatural (werewolves, vampires, witches, ghosts etc)
  • ANYTHING Medieval/High-Fantasy (elves, dwarves, humans, dragons etc)

I WILL NOT: Roleplay anything that includes extreme NSFW- including anything abusive or to do with r*pe. I do not think this is a topic that should ever be handled lightly, and as such feel extremely uncomfortable at the thought of roleplaying it.

I also will not roleplay incest of any form, or allow for ships with major gaps in age between partners. If your character is over a thousand years old but looks like a 16 year old, I do not care. I will not be able to ship them if they are 5 years older than my character. I know lots of people might think it's okay, and maybe it is- but I am not comfortable with it. Our characters must be within the same age bracket if they are going to end up in a ship.

Genre-wise, I am comfortable with almost anything except for sci-fi. I don't mind dark themes, but I'd prefer to not continually roleplay just one tragedy after the other. I love reading stuff that makes me smile- that makes me clutch at my heart because I'm internally dying of laughter and cuteness. Heartbreak and suffering is fun, but in moderation.

In retrospect, I own more characters than I probably should. I have no limit and can make them up on the run. Putting together good characters isn't easy, but it's a challenge I revel in.

I want to make friends, and I want to be able to carry as many RP's as we like. I want us to be able to inspire each other, to be able to go nuts with our imagination. I want to create a space to carry out our stories at whatever pace suits us at the time. To not feel the pressure that we have to respond- but more the excitement that we WANT to respond.

If you believe you might like to try this out with me, please let me know in a response to this post. Tell me about yourself, your roleplaying history, your loves, passions and what you're hoping to explore in RP. If you have characters, in toy-house or google docs, or wherever you stash them- link them to me! Hell, give me a sample of your writing if you want.

If I'm interested, I'll pm you with my discord username and we can begin our adventures!
I look forward to meeting you. :D

EDIT: ///// I also forgot to mention that I refuse to RP with anyone under the age of 18. And that I prefer to RP hetero/lesbian. Personally not that interested in anything else.
