Spark splashed through puddles in the streets. His housefolk had left him, abandoned him. Panting, he let the rain drip through his red fur when he stopped to catch his breath. This rain was pouring, soaking him. He wished to be under the roof of his family. But it was too late now. He didn't know where he was, how he got here. He had just ran, ran ran ran. Now he was in the city, alone. I would kill to have company right now. He thought with dread. Even a cat could keep him company right now. 		womp womp

Venus sat on someones porch trying to stay dry, watching as the canine had passed her. As curious as she was she didn't follow the dog she had rather watched. Confused as to what he was doing in the rain. It's a big city, people like dogs more than cats, she thought to herself. "If you're lucky the pound would find you" she meowed out.

Spark flinched as he heard the cat's voice. "Eh? The- the pound?" He asked confused before rain pummeled him. He stopped where he was and padded up to the cat. "Woah, you're a cat! I heard about those. You're so..cute!" He touched his nose to the fluffy cat with no sense of boundaries. 		womp womp

His heart sank as he realized what the cat was talking about. "The snatchers! The ones who snatch up the hungry dogs. I'd hate to go there.." He whined, looking down at his paws before looking back at the cat. "Hey, so, wait, what are you doing out here? Isn't it.. cold? I heard cats are better for like, sweaty places. Since they were domesticated in the sandy place." He said, shaking his fur momentarily and splashing whatever was in a mile radius. 		womp womp

He sniffed the rain before wagging his tail. "I guess I understand not wanting to be a pet. I always wanted to be outside. I just- I just thought it would be with.. food." He looked the cat up and down. "Oh, and don't misunderstand me, I wouldn't eat you. You are the only company I've had since I got kicked out. Plus you're too fluffy. I wouldn't wanna eat fluff." He barked with a smile. "Anyways, wanna follow me? I dunno where I'm going, but I don't wanna just sit around." His tail wagged more. 		womp womp

Venus slowly nodded and got up "Being a canine I guess is different, we cat's could just hunt rat's or mice if we needed food." she replied. "What do you mean by kicked out tho?" she asked in a meow "You seem too friendly to be a stray like me... Why would anyone kick you out?" She asked again "You seem to be a good dog for a house, maybe even one with kids!" she replied again, rubbing against Spark's legs "Maybe a guard dog.." she replied in a lower tone
