Posted 2022-03-06 10:24:57 #686303 I recently got a bunch of great stud candidates, and I'm trying to decide between them. Would appreciate input/thoughts! If you were looking for a stud, who would you pick? (1) Rakugaki, G3 airglow stalker (2) Demo, G2 selene merle (3) Realgar, G3 realgar finisher Rakugaki \| G3 airglow \| 544 starting stats, excellent stalker build Pros: - Great hunting stats! - Not related to big stalker names (The Red Sea, Riglin/Pots, or Abel/Shadow-Bel). Cons: - It'll be several years before his stats are top-of-the-line for serious stat breeding. I already used my airglow base on him, so he's likely going to be stud at least a while. Planned design: Demo \| G2 selene, double merle, bb het \| 569 starting stats, mild stalker lean Pros: - He's got merle and het eyes! Out of my three candidates, his pups would be the cutest. Cons: - He's the son of DreamWalker, and his stats are low by DreamWalker standards. He'll be competing with a lot of his better-statted half-brothers. - His stalker stats are not good enough for me to put him on a hunting team, so he'll never get a genuinely good stalking build. I would just quick-scout him to level 20 and have him be a pretty breeder. He's not selene yet, but he will be if he becomes a stud. Still kicking around design ideas, but here's one possibility: New Realgar Puppy \| G3 realgar \| 596 starting stats, moderate finisher lean Pros: - I've never had a T3 stud before! - Realgar is a dream base of mine and I'm super hyped that I bred one. - It's so hard to find 1000+ stat T3 studs. I can be the change I want to see in this world, maybe? Cons: - My finisher spots are booked solid for years. I would stud to either 1 or 3 for different reasons.
1 -Because I am concentrating on stalkers right now, and he has different lineage than most of mine. If he got up high in wisdom and smarts around the same time as one of mine I'd definitely use him (I usually only breed mine at level 20 and for last 2 heats so timing might not work out). And he's really pretty too so added bonus.
2. The Realgar is gorgeous. If you got his strength stats up I'd definitely use him. Or if he was concentrated in chaser stats -he has some high agility too. I have a half sibling to him :)

I like the second one especially your design, but as you said there are higher stat Dreamwalker pups out there - I have a couple myself. No merle though so he does have that. And I'd probably breed some of my Opals to him if he was Selene -he is really pretty too.

I'm not much help am I? LOL

Glad to hear your thoughts anyway! I'll probably focus on the stalker, but I like all three enough that I might rotate them in for a while.
