In Remembrance

Wolves who have departed our earthly home to join their packmates in the celestial plane.

Pack Leaders

Yarrow
An aloof, odd wolf who saw truly. Wolves started to gather around them, forming The Bracken. Although brusque and at times brutally honest, Yarrow had much love for their packmates and was fiercely loyal. Over time, wolves became familiar with her stoic and hard-to-read face, taking comfort in the solace of her heart. Her most beloved companion was known as Foxtail. They spent many years raising pups together and watching their pack grow.

Foxtail
Yarrow's loving wife, eventual successor, and complete foil to Yarrow's stark being. Foxtail had warmth and kindness in abundance. She had a natural love for the world and its living things. She made the world seem special, even in its everyday details. Yarrow affectionately called her the Good Morning, because she would be the first one to wake, bringing everyone food and greetings for the new day.

Urbani
She arrived in the dead of night. After Yarrow's passing, Foxtail spent fewer days in the warmth of the sun and more time watching in the wake of night, guarding over her remaining pack members. Huge losses to the pack had more than halved its members.
Yet, the closeness of the surviving few held tight, like an unrelenting bite. This will to live is what impressed Foxtail when the heavily pregnant trespasser was brought before her. Huge lacerations scored her neck; her breathing was painful and ragged. Though the wolf lay weak, her violet eyes burned fiercely. She would survive.
Foxtail and her pack members accepted Urbani, nursing her health despite their own sorry state. Their sacrifice allowed Urbani to heal. She gave birth to her first litter of strong, healthy pups. They quickly overshadowed other wolves, even from a young age. With Urbani restored, the prowess of her family became an enormous boon to The Bracken. Before, they had struggled to feed their small numbers, but with abundant food and powerful warriors, their pack began regrowing.

That's why when Urbani killed Foxtail, no wolf was able to oppose her.
