Moonwing says "You can usually find them in small cracks or on branches. Cobwebs are made by spiders."  She looked at him after she had got some cobwebs and walked up to him. She put her paw out and said "These are cobwebs they can be used to stop the injury from bleeding more but also can be used as a way to keep ointments on when you have to do other thing." Moonwing  sat down when she raised her paw so the she could keep her balance.

Swirlstripe nodded briefly when Moonwing told him where he could find some cobwebs. He'd always thought that those silky webs could be found in holes or little caves, but he never spoke these words out loud.
"I already knew that they could be used to stop a bleeding injury.", he meowed somewhat proudly, whilst looking curiously at the fine webs Moonwing was showing her. "I saw some warriors' wounds bandaged with them, when I was still alive. So I know that these are kinda precious to medicine cats as they have to use them quite often...", the StarClan warrior went on and then bowed down to sniff at those cobwebs.
"Such a shame I cannot help you collect one. I bet I would be the best cobweb collector in whole RiverClan.", Swirlstripe purred and then went on "I'd get them stuck on my pelt to carry more of them."
Swirlstripe still purred as he imagines his fur full of sticky cobwebs, but after a few moments he was quite serious again.
"What's the next herb on your list you are looking for? That bark you mentioned earlier?", he asked her as he was somewhat excited to learn more from Moonwing.

Moonwing looked at him and then rembered that they can be found in other places. Moonwing said "Sorry I forgot about this you can also find Cobwebs in caves or dens basically anywhere a spider love or has lived."  Moonwing heard his last question and said "Well the bark your talking about is Alder Bark which grow on Alder trees by rivers, lakes and ponds." Moonwing headed down to the river near them and spotted an Alder tree. Moonwing stopped in front of it and waited for Swirlstripe.

Whilst listening to all of Moonwing's words and explanations, Swirlstripe felt like an apprentice again. Nothing bad as he'd loved being an apprentice and his mentor Lichendapple always told him the best stories and knew so many different fighting tricks. Swirlstripe had really enjoyed training with him as well as learning from him. As much as he enjoyed learning new things from Moonwing right now.
"I see. So, if I want to collect some cobwebs I have to think like I spider then. Because then I can find their favorite places and can gather as much cobwebs as I like.", Swirlstripe purred, whilst his whiskers twitched happily.
That little walk and the talk with Moonwing was so much fun! She would be an amazing mentor for her apprentice, whenever she would take one.
"Alder Bark.", he meowed to himself, flicking his ears. "Yeah, you said that, but I already forgot about it. Bet I would be a worse medicine cat with my poor mind.", the StarClan warrior purred and eagerly followed Moonwing over to a tree.
From her description it should be an alder tree, but if the tom was honest with himself it looked like any other tree to him. So he was glad that he wasn't a medicine cat as he probably would collect some useless bark, because all kind of trees looked the same to him.
"Well, I guess you'll have to use your claws to scratch some of the bark of the trunk to take home...am I right?", for a moment Swirlstripe looked deeply into Moonwing's blue eyes, before it wandered back to the bark of the Alder tree.

Moonwing said "Yes I do but I need to be careful as to not take it as small pieces" she unshelted her claws and slowly craved some bark out of the tree. She the unwrapped the leaf and put the bark into the leaf. She wrapped it back up and turned to face Swirlstripe. She said " I'm gonna need to take this back to camp and then come back out here. " She the turned back to the direction of camp. She stopped waiting for Swirlstripe.

Curiously Swirlstripe eyed up Moonwing when she used her claws to gather some alder bark. For a moment he had to think of his first lessons as an apprentice when Lichendapple had taken him out to collect some moss for the elders' nests. Collecting moss was indeed similar to gather bark from tree trunks as he had also needed to use his claws and to be careful to not tear the moss appart.
"Gathering this alder bark reminds me of my days as apprentice when I had to collect moss for the elders. At first I totally shred it, but with time I learned controlling my claws to gather perfect clumps of cozy nest material.", he told her, unsure if she wanted to know this or not. "I bet you have to collect moss daily or at least every few days. You can also use it to try to stop stronger bleedings, can't you?", Swirlstripe went on, watching Moonwing wrap the collected bark into the large leaf she had brought along.
He was totally impressed by her skillful paws as he probably would have been too clumsy to wrap up some herbs or even bark into a leaf. He was better at fishing and swimming.
Maybe I could show Moonwing how to fish? I dunno, if her mentor taught her that as a medicine cat won't need to hunt for themselves... the StarClan warrior thought until Moonwing's voice brought him back to reality again.
"Shame I cannot help you carry some bark or other herbs. Then you wouldn't need to have come back here, after bringing these back to the camp and your den.", he somewhat apologized to her and added in his thoughts I am not useful in this world anymore... when he followed the pretty medicine cat back to camp.

Moonwing reached camp and saw everyone milling about. She continued through camp and into her den. When she was finally in her den, she started to operate out the herbs by a pool of water in the sunlight. Moonwing then grabbed the wrap and headed back out of camp. Once they where out of ear shot, she said "Sorry about that I just don't want anyone thinking something is wrong."
Moonwing stopped at a nearby stream. She sat the wrap down. Her stomach growled out of nowhere and she was flustered after it had. Moonwing couldn't look at Swirlstripe for the life of her. She said "Umm I think I should look for some food..."

Swirlstripe stayed silent whilst he followed Moonwing back into RiverClan's camp. As they went through the camp entrance he slowed down and then stopped in the middle of the clearing, even if Moonwing went right back into her den. The moment he was alone the StarClan warrior looked around, watching his clan live their daily life and wishing that he still could be a part of it.
I died way too young and early. Because I was reckless...and such a big fishbrain...! he thought whilst watching two sunbathing elders and a few playing kits.
He could still be part of their daily routine, but he wasn't. Even if he was here, no other cat seemed to notice or to be able to see him. Not even his own father. Only Moonwing was able to see him and probably only because she was the Clan's medicine cat. And for once the StarClan warrior felt somewhat sad. His clan would have forgotten him soon enough as he was no legendary warrior or a wise and strong leader cats would tell stories about. He was just a cat that died too young and who now felt kind of lonely.
A black flash of fur brought him back to reality again as he realized that Moonwing was on the move and leaving camp once more. So Swirlstripe once again followed her in silence and out of the camp.
"No worries. I understand.", he only replied when Moonwing decided to speak to him again.
The StarClan warrior seemed quite silent for a moment, but then his ears twitched quite amused, when he heard Moonwing's belly rumble.
"You could probably try catching some fish from this stream!", Swirlstripe suggested and stretched his head forwards to watch the water until he saw some silver silhouettes of fish swimming by. "You do know how to fish, don't you?", he then asked and looked back at her.
