This morning, I gave away my 100% prof Herbalist despite quite liking her, just because I wanted to make space for other wolves. I have older wolves (5-6 years) who aren't particularly beautiful, but their stats are so damn high I don't want to take the hit on my hunting. How often do you chase wolves that you originally wanted to keep? |

My rules go like this: * Working wolves (hunters, scouts and herbalist. All of my working wolves are males): start to search for a substitute when they reach 6yo and absolutley decide on the successor at 6yo 6m. This way I have plenty of time to raise them, train them and let them gain a bit of role proficiency until it's time for them to be fully active. I have a "training team" for hunters, where the young ones can get exp and proficiency. * Females (pupsitters and scouts/mentors): start to search for a substitute when they reach 6yo 6m and decide on a successor at 7yo. *Special lore wolves: find a substitute only after they die. By doing this, I'm able to always have more or less the same amount of wolves (a number I can feed/play without struggles). It took a while, but now I'm at a point where I almost always have one of the wolves reaching the end of their life, so I can go looking for pretty pups or keep one I bred at least once a week. And if I find a pups I want or a pretty chased NBW beforetime, I either write them down early as substitute for the next aging wolf or use one of my "spare" slots of extra members (and remember not to find a substitute for these extra members). Of course this means that I don't go browsing the trading center everyday and I stay away from the Enclave until I know I need a new wolf. Or I would just keep getting every pretty pup I see XD |
