Gender: Male Mate: N/A open Pup/Adolescent/Adult/Elder: Young Adult (1 yr) Appearance:  Former Pack & Former Pack Role: The Oasis Stalkers (Pupsitter) Personality: A shy and sweet male but tends to be a push over. He tends to be a bit anxious and extremely protective of his pup companions after a mishap in his former pack. During a time of drought and starvation, he fled the pack with the only two surviving pups to try to find a safer place for them. He fears that the former pack may hunt him for this "pup-napping." Other: Nikko is willing to fill any position that he can in order to be the most useful he can be. However, he is not a particularly skilled hunter, not being very strong. Nikko is traveling with two young twin pups, Kenya and Tenya, both female. Tenya excells at hunting, being able to catch mice at a very young age. A prodigy. Kenya, however, is much more mellow and less physically capible. Truly opposites.

I have added Arrluk above ^ )) It was late fall in the forest, and the crescent moon rose early in the evening. The woods are quiets night falls. Arrluk had his senses listening for any familiar sounds of his pack, but couldn't pick up anything from them. A human campfire had gotten out of control, and that was the last time he had seen any of them. The fire burned quickly through the fallen leaves of their territory. At one point Arrluk had met up with one of his trusted scouts, but the two had diverged again to cover more ground. They had thought they recognized the trees they met at. It was the last thing the former Alpha had recognized. At one point, days ago, he came to the edge of the destruction and made the decision to keep going. His pack was smart. He knew there would be survivors, and the survivors would know to let the forest heal before prey would be plentiful again. They would travel farther to feed themselves. Arrluk didn't know where he was, but he had faith in them, and in himself. He carried on. —— Unknown to him, he did not carry on alone. The wind carried his scent far behind him, where Sorrel could easily recognize that she was near another of her kind. He smelled of fire. It scared her. Sometimes in the distance she could see him, and would hide when the large Fire Wolf would lift his snout to the air and sniff deeply. He must have been lost too. Still, she crept back. He was much bigger than her. Though she was an experienced hunter for the Creek Pack, she would keep her skills to stalking. There would be no meeting until she thought she was safe. |

------- Nikko and the Twins ---------- The cool autumn breeze gently jostled the diminutive, scrawny male's golden fur causing him to tremble subtly. He was very vigilant as he walked, though his eyes looked unmistakably drained; he was exhausted. But, he couldn't stop until he knew he and the pups he was protecting were in a safe place for the night. He had grown used to the soft sound of puppy paws, clumsily clambering after him and the familiar grip on little maws on his scruffy tail; it was his way of knowing that the twins were just behind him. An exhale escaped him as he parted his maws, though it was cut short when he no longer felt the pup behind him gripping his tail. His ears perked and he turned to look over his shoulder. Tenya, the rowdier of the twins, had let go of his tail and plopped into a defeated, slumped sitting position. "My paws hurt," She groaned in a whiny voice, squeezing her eyes shut. Kenya, the more mellow twin, mumbled softly, "Im hungry..." Nikko's brow furrowed in concern as he stopped and turned around. He tried to calm the pups, cooing, "I know, I know, but I want to make sure you two have a place to sleep tonight, we're almost there, I promise." He didn't want to say that he had no idea if they would even find a place to sleep. He gave a weak smile, touching his nose to Tenya's forehead, "We'll stop and rest your paws for a bit, I dont mind carrying you if i have to." Tenya's little tail wagged, "Okay!" Seeing their skinny, weak forms from a lack of proper food clawed at his stomach. He felt guilty that he wasn't able to hunt and properly feed the two. Even so, he had to try. He lifted his muzzle, taking in the scent of the area, and focusing for prey. His eyes shot open when he could smell stranger wolves in the distance. "You two, stay low and quiet, okay? Don't want to scare away the prey." He spoke in a hushed tone, winking at them and scooting them closer to him. He didn't want to worry them, especially since the strangers' scents weren't familiar. But he couldn't risk them making too much noise and alerting a stranger wolf. While it most likely wouldn't be dangerous, some wolves wouldn't pass up an easy meal of two pups and a weakling like him. |

—— Sorrel sat on a hill, still a bit behind the fire wolf, yawning. She figured she'd find something small herself soon. The wind was still in her favor and if the larger wolf left anything behind, that would make life easier for her. She could even hunt while he slept, he didn't seem aware of her at all…. Her head snapped to a different angle in front of her. More wolves. The smell was distinctly not from the Creek Pack or similar in any way to the fire wolf. Sorrel couldn't see anyone. Even if someone had just come through here, they were here not very long ago. She shortened the distance between her, the fire wolf, and the new smell. Her pace was curious, but wary. She stopped just far enough away so that she had time to escape the fire wolf if he suddenly turned around and gave chase. There had been a little more noise in the forest down here, she thought. Maybe there was more prey too? She stilled her body, and waited to see if anything revealed its location. |

 XilenaXilena stared from under her bush a cold hand gripping her heart as it'd done for the last 5 moons. She gave a mournful howl before getting up and dragging herself into the open field , she turned towards the forest hoping to find some easy prey , if not for herself for the rains of her family growing within her. She stopped in her tracks , wolves. 'Maybe they have food? Shut it Xilena , they'll turn you away if not kill you. Your on their territory!' She silenced the voice in her head and kept walking forward now making as much noise as possible to let herself be known. She started making her way up the hill towards where Sorrel (@heeho) was her tail down and making herself look as submissive as possible. "Hi umm , I - I - I need help..." She said in a near whisper. Before turning her head away in shame , this taking a bite out of her pride like all wolves who had to grovel for help but she was desperate enough fo that now. She sat down looking around as she did so not wanting to cut herself of anywhere and have a clear space to run in necessary |

----- Nikko and the Twins ------- He stayed alert for a few fleeting seconds, his ears swiveling, taking in the surrounding sounds. The stranger smelled of smoke and ash; fire. Not a particularly welcoming scent to his sensitive nostrils. He didn't focus on the smell for long when he heard the not-so distance scurrying of a critter in the underbrush. Not large enough to feed him, but perfect for the twins. "Okay, you two know the drill, shadow me quietly, ten paw-steps behind," He spoke in a hushed voice and the twins nodded. By now, the two pups had been on the road long enough to understand how to stay quiet in a hunt. With that, Nikko dropped to a crouching position and slowly crept in the direction of the small prey. He was surprised it hadn't caught their scent and ran off. He lunged forward at the brush, missing a bite by mere centimeters as a sizable hare bolted from its cover. Nikko gave chase, the pups following in a trot behind him. The small wolf launched himself forward and bit down on the hare, successfully killing it, but not before it let out an ear piercing shriek, no doubt scaring off any other prey in the area; he only hope that it didn't attract trouble. He turned around, his fur dusty and a bit messy to see two happy pups who had just managed to catch up to him. "That was amazing Nikko! You've gotten super duper good at catchin' rabbits," Tenya chirped happily, playfully bowing and wagging her tail. Kenya, who also had a wagging tail, chimed in, "Look how big it is!" Nikko smiled and sat down the rabbit carcass in front of the two hungry puppies and panted a bit. "Eat up kids, you've earned it for being the best hunting party i could ask for." Nikko lost focus on the scents around him in his time of pride, not even noticing that he'd managed to run further toward the stranger wolf who smelt of flame and ash. |
