Introduction & Information
Pack Origin
The pack was originally founded by a wolf that went by Captain Redbeard. A lone wolf, he struggled to find a place to settle. Until he hit the jackpot when he saw the Old Saltwater, a shipwreck found washed ashore. It was the perfect place: the golden sand was soft underfoot, the shining sun warmed his fur, the lapping waves settled a wave of calm that overtook him. While exploring, he found traces of old pirates, humans. What was left in the wreck helped Captain Redbeard make his pack. He adopted the views of a pirate, and he created his pack, Seascape Valley, in that image. As wolves continued to join, the pack eventually evolved into a wild and reckless (in a good way) pack, filled with the most unpredictable wolves of the seven seas. Neighboring packs were wary of the strange wolves, the ones who worshipped the lonely blue ocean. And so, Seascape, the pack of pirates, blossomed into a full fledged sea-loving pack.

Temperament
The wolves of Seascape Valley are generally unpredictable, rough, wild, and sometimes inappropriate. They are heavy drinkers (they make their own alcohol with fermented fruits) and are especially crazy when with other pirates. The pirates enjoy having celebrations, looting, valuable items, the water, and the warm sun. While most of the pirates in Seascape are fun-loving ruffians, a few pirates have been known to be especially cruel. The pirates call this wolf the "Scourge of the Seven Seas". Careful if trying to observe the pack; they have been known to take prisoners. They don't take threats well, and love a good fight, so be prepared if stepping foot into their territory. Neighboring packs also have to watch out, as the pirates are capable of storming a pack and taking what they please.

Pack Rules and Punishments
The pirates, however wild they may be, still have rules. If broken, the wolves are subject to punishment.

- No lying to the pack. Lying to your packmates is dishonorable and shows disloyalty.
- No stealing from the pack. Stealing from your own pack is treason. It too shows disloyalty.
- The blood of the pack should not be spilled by other packmates. If you must fight, do not draw blood.
- Refrain from traveling alone. If you wish to explore, let the pack know. It is better to stay in groups, as the pack is stronger together.
- Top 3 Ranks cannot be chosen based solely on them being a wolf's family. They must prove themselves worthy of the role.
- Finder's keepers. If you are the wolf that finds a valuable piece of treasure, it is yours to keep. Exceptions to this rule may apply.
- Killing a packmate is forbidden and warrants one of the highest punishments.

Punishments are handed out by the Top 3 Ranks. Depending on which rule was broken, the punishment should match the severity equally. The punishments below aren't ordered in any way.

- Cleaning the Old Saltwater.
- Servant duty.
- Exile.
- Public embarrassment.
-  Sent into an enemy pack.
- Lowered rank.
- Possession of property.

Allies
The pirates are yet to make any allies.

Pack HierarchyCaptain: Most important wolf of the pack. He or she leads the pirates. The Captain is usually very strong and possesses excellent battle and ship sailing skills. The Captain can definitely hold down their liquor!

First Mate: The First Mate is the Captain's second in command. They are hand-picked by the Captain, and are set to become the next leader of the pack.

Quartermaster: The Quartermaster is technically the third in command. They must be good at navigating and ship control. If something happens to the First Mate, the Quartermaster will be promoted.

Doctor: The Doctor is a very important role. They are tasked with healing the pack and preventing the spread of illnesses (the Doctor may keep any pack member quarantined in the sick bay).

Striking Pirates: The Striking Pirates (usually shortened to the Strikers) of the ship are the hunters and fighters of the pack. Striker groups must be very tight-knit to maximize prey intake.

Navigators: Navigators scout out new areas for the pack. They must be fast and agile, as well as have a lot of stamina. They are the wolves that help seek out new hunting areas. They are also well-versed in ship navigation tasks.

Sitters: Sitters watch the puppies of the pack. We can't have the lads and lassies getting lost, or even worse: walking the plank!

Lookouts: The lookouts warn the pack of dangers. They will often head out with striking groups, or even the navigators, so that they may quickly and effectively assess the danger.

Lads and Lassies (pups/puppies): The young wolves of the pack.

Climbing Ranks
It is possible for pirates to climb up the pack ranks, although this can only be achieved before a certain age. Once a wolf turns one year old (when he/she becomes an adult), their rank is almost completely unchangeable (there have been instances where a wolf was rewarded with a higher rank).

To explain this, one must know that the parents of a wolf determine the rank of the pups. For example, if the Quartermaster and  Navigator breed, their pups will likely be a Navigator when they grow up. The Quartermaster rank is a Top 3, meaning it is a hard rank to acquire. The Navigator rank is a rather common rank. However, because the mother/father of the hypothetical pup is a Quartermaster, their chance of becoming the Quartermaster in the future may raise a little. This is because the Quartermaster has the ability to recommend a wolf for his/her position. Now, it is against the pack law to nominate/recommend a wolf based solely on their family, so the pup must prove themselves before they are ever considered for the role.

Of course, higher ranks, such as the Doctor rank, can only be taken by the Doctor's apprentice. This is UNLESS a pup passes the Swashbuckler's  Feats. These are hard, and can be dangerous if a wolf doesn't know what they are doing. But many wolves want a higher rank for the notoriety and rewards. If a wolf passes the Feats, they climb to a rank of their choosing (the Top 3 are off the table).

Swashbuckler's Feats
Looting
The wolf must complete one of the following to pass this feat:
- Steal an egg from a harpy eagle. Do so without breaking or damaging the egg in any way. Once you get back to the pack with the egg, the feat is completed.
- Go to a nearby pack and steal something of value. Try not to alert any wolves, although the feat will still be passed regardless. Once you get back to the pack with the item, the feat is completed.

Battle
The wolf must complete one of the following to pass this feat:
- Battle against another wolf (outside of the pack). If you come back to the pack as the victor, the feat is completed. A Lookout may be sent with you to confirm the winner and loser.
- Battle against a member of the pack. If you are the victor, the feat is completed. The opposing wolf is chosen by the Captain.

Infiltration
The wolf must complete the following to pass this feat:
- Lie your way into an enemy pack. Once you have infiltrated the pack, send for other pirates to raid and loot the pack. If successful, the feat is completed.

Drinking
The wolf must complete the following to pass this feat:
- Drink, drink, drink! Drink as much as you can. If you don't pass out once you're done, the feat is completed.

Challenge Feat
If the feat of your choice is accepted and you pass, you have officially completed the Swashbuckler's Feats!
- Create your own Feat to complete. If it is considered too easy, it will be rejected and you will be required to try something else. If your feat was accepted by the Captain, and you successfully complete it, you may change your rank.

The Old Saltwater
The Old Saltwater is a shipwreck found on the territory of the Seascape pirates. This wreck is a big part of the pirate's lives, and is used for many different things. The pirates enjoy sleeping on the ship, and higher rank wolves are permitted to kick out others if they wish (although this is rare and usually only happens if the wolves had a spat). No one knows how the ship ended up where it is, but the pirates aren't particularly interested in finding out.

The Deck
The deck of the ship is used for parties and celebrations. The pirates make their own fermented drinks and always make a ruckus when they're tipsy. A plank that extends into the sea is often used as a threat ("Walk the plank!"), although it hasn't been used yet. The deck is also used for the training of the young pups.

The Cabins
The cabins are the sleeping areas of the wolves. Each was previously decked out , however they now remain bare, save for carved out shelves and a bed. A few wolves can cram themselves into the cabins and sleep comfortably.

The Mess
Was originally where the people aboard the Old Saltwater would eat. Now that the pirates have claimed the wrecked ship, the mess was transformed into a meeting area where the Captain and others can speak in private.

The Navigation Room
The Nav room is used by the navigators (and occasionally the lookouts) to plan scouting missions.

The Sick Bay
The sick bay is used by the doctor to treat injured or sick wolves. It's always fully stocked by the doctor, and kept ready for use at all times.

The wreck, while damp, isn't fully "wrecked". The smell isn't all too bad (compared to other shipwrecks at least), and any critters that attempt to make it their home are promptly chased out or killed by the pirates. The entire crew disappeared from the wreck, surprising even the wolves. The pirate's first treasure came from the golden chest in the captain's chambers. When finally opened, gold coins, jewelry, and other valuables spilled out into the paws of the pirates. It jumpstarted their want for more.HTML by Lila #225. Do not remove credit

Traditions
Top 3 Rank Celebration
A celebration that occurs when a wolf is made into one of the Top 3 (Captain, First Mate, Quartermaster)! A night filled with drinking, partying, and excitement.

First Swim
A puppy's first time in the water. Older wolves surround and encourage the pup to jump in, and make sure that they don't accidentally drown themselves. The first swim is an "acceptance" tradition.

Swashbuckler's Feats
The Feats are five challenges that need to be completed if a wolf wishes to raise their ranking in the pack.

Places in Seascape

The Old Saltwater

(washed up shipwreck)

The Old Saltwater is where the pirates like to sleep. The higher ranking wolves will often kick out the others if they want the ship to themselves. The reason for the wreck is still a mystery, but the pirates aren’t in any hurry to find out what happened.

The Deck

The deck of the shop is used for parties and celebrations. The pirates make their own fermented drinks and always make a ruckus when they’re tipsy. A plank that extends into the sea is often used a threat (“Walk the plank!”), although it hasn’t been used yet. The deck is also used for the training of young pups.

The Cabins

The cabins are the sleeping areas of the wolves. Each was previously decked out, however they now remain bare, save for carved out shelves and a bed. A few wolves can cram themselves into the cabins, and they sleep comfortably enough.

The Mess

Was originally where the people aboard the Old Saltwater would eat. Now that the pirates have claimed the wrecked ship, the mess was transformed into meeting area, where the captain and others can speak privately.

The Navigation Room

The nav room is used by the navigators to plan scouting missions and such.
