Build-A-Pack Interactive

Build-A-Pack Interactive
Posted 2021-10-09 19:15:50 (edited)
Welcome to my interactive! It is typically 1v1 between the narrator and a participant, though at times your paths may collide with others!

Notice (PLEASE READ):
This forum game is meant to emulate pack  life, and the wolves you earn will be made with the generator. I stake no claim to the designs of the wolves, or any art, and I am not claiming that the wolves will be added to your actual wolvden pack or affect your actual wolvden gameplay. It's simply something I'm doing for fun since I get bored sometimes!
Also, nothing in this thread should cost SC or GC!

General Information
In this interactive you're a lone wolf who's secured roughly 25 square miles of heavily marked territory. Your goal is to expand your pack and continue your lineage, and battle enemies and starvation- which is quite a bit easier with others.
This interactive has semi-realistic mechanics based upon the facts of real wolves. Your wolves will grow hungry, sustain injuries, form friendships and rivalries with other pack-mates, pair-bond, and even challenge you! Have fun, and remember if your pack ends badly you can always restart <3
Go to the Signing Up Spoiler and follow the directions to become a participant!

Finding New Members
You want to grow your pack, but you're the only one in it? Well then, you should definitely get a hold on some new members! Besides breeding, you can aquire new wolves through different encounters. Wolves an be found when you wander around in Explore, through a rivalry clash when attempting hunting, when battling a npc pack/other participants pack, or as a daily random encounter! Please note that having an abundance of food or territory can slightly boost your chances of new members!
New members can have a variety of personalities, stats and appearances. A more rare encounter you can achieve only when exploring is to find multiple wolves at once- most likely a group of young chased males looking for their own pack- and youĺl be given a chance to coax them into your pack, but they may simply fight you!

Interacting! - Explore, Hunt, Battle, or Random!
You'll need to post interaction forms to progress your pack. The different categories are Random Encounters, Hunting, Battling, and Exploring. See below for interaction descriptions and go down to the Forms spoiler to fill in a form to post!
Random Encounters can be requested (one at a time) with no cooldown, and are generated for every participant once a day regardless. These encounters can prompt you to an exploration, battle or hunt, or could simply be a small description of what your packmates are doing.
Hunting patrols are made up of 3-5 adult wolves primarily (though it can be a solo/duo hunt, and up to 2 adolescents may join to observe). Smaller hunts of 1-3 wolves will earn small-medium prey if successful, while hunts of 4-5 wolves has a chance at large prey. Wolves on hunts can earn small injuries from defensive prey or rival wolves intercepting the hunt.
Battling occurs sometimes during hunting, explore or random encounters, but it can also be requested to earn more territory or try to coax more wolves to join, along with other possible rewards. Fighting an npc pack can grant you rewards directly from the pack, while winning again another participant's pack will get you rewards from other factors. For example "Participant 1's hunting party was coaxing a curious loner into their pack, but Participant 2's patrol intercepted them! After a brutal scuffle, Participant 1's hunting party retreated, and the loner joined you, impressed with your strength!¨. Participants can (but not always will) interact like this if both request a battle, or if one (or both) is doing another encounter and I deide you two collide :D
Finally, exploring. Exploring is done solo by your alpha, and a variety of other encounters can occur. New wolves are most commonly found during this encounter, as well as chances to expand your territory (peacefully or with battle!), though a variety of randomness can occur, and there is no guaranteed benefit. Users have a 45 minute cooldown after I reply to your explore request to post another one!

Breeding
Another way to gather new members is by breeding your wolves!
Males have no breeding cooldown, while females have a 5 day cooldown after birth to be bred again. Litters consist of 1-4 pups, with 1 and 4 being the rarest.
The alpha male is considered the breeding male of the pack, though they don't have to be. If the alpha is a female and has no mate, the next highly ranked male will be the breeding male (aka the male you choose). Breeding males can have pups with packmates and other pack's wolves, though non-breeding males can pair-bond to mate with one wolf, typically for life. Pair-bonded males cannot become breeding males, and pair-bonded females cannot breed to any other males. If a pair bond is broken for any reason, both of the wolves will become extremely sad and likely refuse to pair-bond again.
Breedings are typically random, but there are items in the shop to alter them!

Ranks:
Here's another great thing- you can choose and edit your own pack ranks!
Below are some basic ones, but you may add, rename, edit or remove any for your specific pack at your own discretion!

Alpha, Beta, Delta, Lead Hunter, Lead Guard, Hunter, Guard, All-Around, Scout, Lead Healer/Herbalist, Healer/Herbalist,  Den-Mother, (Rank-Insert) In Training, Pups, Pupsitter/Omega.

Personalities and Stats
Each wolf will be assigned a specific, one word personality. Like wolvden, the can be categorized into Aggressive, Friendly, Romantic and Stoic. However the words themselves can be unique, but must follow the category they're set in. For example, a stoic wolf can be ¨Tolerant¨, and a romantic wolf ¨Chivalrous¨, but a friendly wolf cannot be ¨Malicious¨.

Statistics, rated from 1 to 20, only really matter for interactions such as hunting or battling. The wolves you have will add together their relevant stats and ¨battle¨ the other, and whoever's relevant stats are higher gets a boost in chances of succeeding but its still rng based. For example, 3 wolves were hunting a tom turkey. The wolves collectively had a speed of 9 and reflex of 14, while the turkey had a speed of 11 and reflex of 5. The boosts would be even, as both are stronger in one stat, but the hunters are chosen by the rng and kill the turkey.

Items and Crafting
Below are items to give you a little boost! They can be earned as rewards or crafted.

Shaman's Items
Watch your herbalist don their most extravagant herbs and cloak and bless your pups with these items, granting them stat boosts or other unusual traits.
Cheetah's Foot - With this lucky charm, your pups will certainly have a little spring in their step!
Lion's Mane Tuft - Lions are powerful and majestic creatures, and this one's spirit will grant your pups strength!
Rat Spine- Did you know rats can collapse their skeletons at will? Maybe with this, your pups will have the same reflexes- but no bone collapsing, hopefully!
Bat's Ear- Bats wander the night, using their screech and hearing to get around. This bat's ear will grant your pups the same careful intuition.
Honey and Salt Salve - This strange salve has been known to make all the pups in a litter one intended gender!
Hyena's Pelt - This item results in the pups favoring their father's genetics a bit more- don't ask me why, I dunno!
Sheep's Wool - The same effect as the Hyena's pelt, but toward the mother. Shamans are strange.

Other:
String of Prime Cuts  - An offering of the very best of your hunters'efforts, likely to coax a hungry loner to approach you!
Totem of Good Health- This rare item blesses the dam with four healthy pups!
Hourglass of Liquid Time - This also rare item can raise a litter of pups to adulthood instantly, or skip a dam's gestation/cooldown!

Crafting is not yet set up, check again later!
