Nikolai | Alpha | Male | Location: Camp
Mentions: Pearla, Natalia, Open.

Nikolai's ears flicked forward as he was addressed. He cut his eyes downwards towards the familiar voice, only to be greeted by the pack's Eta. 'Herb collecting? This early in the morning?' He glanced away for a moment, silence filling the air as he pondered. It was important that the pack was kept healthy, but they would surely be growing antsy from hunger soon enough. Perhaps if he gathered enough lambdas they could find their breakfast along the way. They could kill two birds with one stone, per say. "I'll see to it that you have an escort." He finally replied, pulling his paws underneath him and slowly rising to his feet.

He shook his coat, still damp from the dew, and slid down from his perch. Landing on the cool ground with a thud, he stretched his limbs and glanced about the clearing for potential guards. "You there," He called out to a figure wandering through camp. "Natalia." He finally called out, slowly lumbering towards the subordinate. He grew closer to her, lifting his head to peer at her with a stern gaze. "Help gather the other lambdas, we're in need of a hunting patrol and... protection for our Eta." He ordered, glancing back at Pearla over his shoulder.

Natalia | F | 3.2 years | Lambda | Camp

Mentions: Nikolai, Pearla, Mika, Chai, open to Lambda

The pale coated wolf had just paused in the center of camp, front paw poised closer to her chest, when the deep rumble of the Alpha's tone cut through her short-lived anxiety. Head turning and body following, her ears swiveled as she faced him, her eyes wide and bright in the early morning light. Her muzzle dipped slightly in a small nod at his words, her gaze drifting behind the silver and white toned wolf towards the darker, more medicinally experienced wolf. "Yes sir. I'll do that," she spoke quietly, but her tone was firm, as if she knew the task she'd been given was an important one. With the way he spoke, she was certain the hunting segment of their exploration today would be the more necessary at present. Their numbers were hungry - and they had to keep as healthy as possible in the face of the current dangers.

With a quick turn, tail swishing against her flanks, her eyes raked camp. Seeing two other Lambdas, two of which she was certain she'd learned the names of, she approached in time to hear the tail-end of Mika's offer. Her ears perked, head lifting. Though her duty was different at present, she couldn't help the instinctual anxiety to hear that their were pups afoot and possibly in trouble. Staying silent for a moment, she glanced between the two, though her eyes drifted from them and towards the edges of camp.

"Our Alpha would like us to organize a hunting patrol - that same group will protect Pearla while we are out. I'll gather the others that are willing, if either of you would like to assist. Perhaps we should find the pups quickly, before we leave, yes?" She offered a brief, gentle smile. She'd gather the others and keep an eye out for the pups. And if they weren't found by the time the hunting party was gathered, she'd help the others look. But two adults wolves should very well be able to find and manage two pups, the pale wolf thought to herself. "If you are not back at camp by the time we're gathered, I will send them ahead a short ways and come find you." Perhaps she wasn't the best at making plans. Hence the need for her to speak aloud her decisions to the Lambdas before her - but she was decent at following through on her words. With a quick nod to the both of them, she turned tail again and made her way towards the den entrances. Though she hated to wake any slumbering wolves, duty did call. With a low chuff, she woofed into the den, "Any Lambda wishing to come on a hunting patrol and assist our Eta today should be at the clearing in two shakes of a rabbit's tail. And that's more an ask of our Alpha than from myself."

Rowan / M / 1y 6m / Lambda / Just outside camp / Mentions: Codex, Fern, open

Rowan had grown increasingly restless over the past several weeks. He found himself routinely waking well before the sun, but this new routine had come to suit him. He relished the quiet morning hours, with only the chirping birds and his own footprints through the dew-soaked grass for company. As long as he could keep his mind from drifting to heavier topics, these patrols were peaceful. On this particular morning, Rowan found himself reflecting on a striking red cardinal he'd seen foraging for seeds. In so many ways, these familiar woods were not so different from how they'd been before the -- A piercing yowl tore through the trees as if to accentuate the young wolf's thoughts. Right. I ought to be getting back to camp anyway.

Rowan's pace quickened, motivated both by the threat of the primal cats and the promise of a fresh meal back at camp. Sights set on his home, Rowan didn't notice the pups charging towards him until he'd nearly tripped over the first. After recovering his balance, Rowan flashed a friendly smile. He didn't know much about raising pups, but he doubted they were supposed to be outside of camp alone. "Whoa there, little ones! Where are you off to in such a hurry?" Rowan flicked an ear nervously backward, but the cats had fallen silent once more. Still, the threat was never completely gone. The young wolf's patrol wouldn't be done until he'd successfully herded these pups back to camp. His breakfast could wait.

> Luca | Female | 2 years, 8 months | Lambda | Location: camp <

>> Mentions [Direct]: Natalia, open Mentions [Indirect]: open <<

Luca peered over her tail at the disturbance of her nap. She lightly rested her yellow eyes on her fellow Lamda as she struggled to stand on her paws. She shook her pelt at the sound of her packmate, Natalia. She quietly stalked out into the morning sun and kept her head down. Even while looking at the ground, she could see the beauty that overcame their camp, but that beauty was ruined by the shrieking cry of the primal cats. The sun glistened harshly against the river and blinded Luca. She averted her eyes and turned to the rest of the Lambda, but wouldn't look any in the eyes. Luca's ears flicked nervously and her tail thumped softly against the ground as she sat. She looked at Natalia's feet.

"How can I be useful today?", Luca said shortly, cutting off her question abruptly and talking so quietly and fast that one would need to strain to hear her words.

Luca supposed talking quietly was better than talking when she lost her temper. That was never a good time. Once her temper was lost, she lashed out and tended to thrash her head and would talk in harsh, barked tones that never pleased anyone. Her paws shuffled very slightly, barely noticeable to a wolf that passes. She squished the dew-kissed grounding underneath her, which she instantly regretted as an odd wet, mushy feeling covered her pads. She panted slightly, beginning to feel the intense heat of the early morning sun.

Mika | M | Lambda | Camp | Mentions Directly: Chai, Natalia | Mention’s Indirectly; Pearla, Rowan.

Mika’s tail flicked as he awaited the mother’s response, that was until his ears instinctively swiveled at the sound of another wolf approaching. He straightened his posture and looked over to who ever it may have been. He smiled gently at the fellow Lambda and before she began talking he gave her a short nod. “Good morning Natalia,” he spoke. He knew she was a lambda like him and that she was an equal but in his mind everyone deserved to be shown respect. Everyone within the pack that was anyway. He held the drive of a mother with strong maternal instincts when it came to his fellow pack mates. As much as some wolves disliked it he couldn’t help it.

The male listened to Natalia’s order given by the alpha. He perked up a bit, large head lifting with eyes holding excitement. They seemed so bright in the morning dew but felt even brighter. Hunting. A favourite part to pack life. A chance to show off and get the pack fed at the same time. Also another possible training experience for Rowan. Tracking was essential in hunting and not to toot his own horn but Mika knew that was where his skills mostly hung. Through those quick thought’s, Mika was quick to avert his attention back to Natalia and Chai. He glanced back at their Eta and gave another nod. He didn’t feel it was important to gather herbs right now, especially with the cats making themselves heard and the pack hungry but he would never dare undermine or disrespect the alpha. He would knaw his own tail off first if he had to.

Mika nodded to Natalia, agreeing with her plan. The pups needed to be brought back fast and then the hunt can begin. They needed to grow in numbers and pups were vital to that. Losing them would be devastating. Once Natalia had padded off, Mika looked at Chai once more. “Chai. I don’t mind what you do but if you want you can help gather the patrol with Natalia, I shall go look for your pups,” He spoke gently but didn’t give any leverage for her to object. He turned on his paws and with his tail laid straight he brought his nose to the ground and began taking in the different scents.

It had become apparent to him that Rowan had definitely gotten up early and as much as he knew the male could take care of himself, he still felt protective over him. He had ever since he found him under a log. He made it his duty to watch over him and can’t get himself out of that rut. As he tried to pick up a scent he could distinctively catch out Rowan’s. His body jerked a little as he was about to take off to follow it when he remembered it was pups he was looking for and not him. Mika sighed and his ears pinned back before seeing two sets of very small paw prints heading away from camp. “Pups,” he mumbled jokingly before following them.

Chai || F || Lambda || Location:Camp || Mention's Directly: Mika, Natalia || Mention's Indirectly: Codex, Fern

At last the reddish-brown mother wolf was snapped out of her worrisome state-of-mind by a pack-mate she knew as Mika. The young mother wolf had run into him quite a few times, often noticing how he was good with the pups. "That's a good thing....I need all the help I can get....and once I see Codex again he's staying in the camp for a moon.' the thought echoing into her mind as she turned towards the larger male wolf. "Thank you Mika.... I do need help with the pups it's Codex who I swear gets bolder every day." the worry cracking through her soft voice as she blinked her hazel-green eyes as the scanned around the camp once more. "I would like to find them considering the loud cat we heard this morning." tensing up at the thought of something happening to her precious pups, as she was then snapped out of that by a reassuring lick to the head by Mika. Chai letting out a half whine as she looked to another fellow pack mate coming up to her. Listening to Natalia's offer and then swiveling her ears to focus onto Mika once more. "I'll go with Mika and see if I can find them....but please if you can ask any other's to help. I would be very appreciative." nodding her head once as she turned to follow after Mika who had already. begin to sniff around. Chai, picking up into a short trot as she followed after the larger male. Stopping where Mika had stopped as she scanned her eyes down to see the little set of paw prints leading out of camp. Lowering her muzzle to the ground to briefly inhale the mixtures as the scent of Codex and Fern wafted into her nose. "Thank you for coming with. me to search for the pups Mika....I swear Codex is more like Kaine every day.... that pup is going to make all my fur turn grey and fall out." a half joke aloud to help ease her mind as she followed behind her pack mate hoping her pups wern't causing too much chaos this morning.

Codex | M | Phi | Location: Just outside of camp| Mentions: Fern, Rowan

The black and white pup had finally made it outside the camp and into the forest with his littermate. "Let's go find a cat to fight....I bet I can fight one and send them all running like the scared kitties they are." laughing aloud at his own bold statement as he half rolled his yellow eyes at Fern's concern. "You know if Dad was alive he would send all the cat's running to where they came from!" the adrenaline already coursing through the young pups body as the end of his tail shook in an excitement to see one of the large cats up close and not from tales his mother spoke about. "C'mon let's play some tag!" offering up the fun game to help ease Fern's mind about being away from camp. Codex, gently tapping her shoulder with his paw before pivoting around to run on the crunchy leaves in a hurry. The young pup picking up with speed as he closed his yellow eyes to take in the many noises around him. All of a sudden his whole body ran into a larger object that sent him to halt. Codex, opening his bright yellow eyes to look up at a fellow pack mate named Rowan, or at least that's what he thought others called him. Shaking out his dark black pelt and his head for a moment from the impact of colliding into him. "S-Sorry Rowan...... I didn't mean to run into you." Apologizing quickly with his ears pinning flat against his head for a moment before pricking up again. "Today is adventure day and I wanna go explore outside of camp like the big wolves do!" the excitement bubbling off as he reared up onto his hind paws and stabilized his front one's on Rowan's shoulder. "I wanna be like all the adults and explore outside of camp." Codex nodding his head once as he flattened his ears at Fern's question towards Rowan. The young pup lowering his paws down and sitting off to the side with a sigh.

Fern | F | Phi | Location: Just outside of camp | Mentions: Codex, Rowan

Fern followed after her brother through the forest, even trotting at times to catch up with him. "Codex...I-Wait for me!" the fear of being alone in the forest without an adult or her brother down right scared her. "I'm coming Codex!" calling out as her little paws crunched against the ground to follow her brother. Finally catching up to him as she half whined out loud "Codex.....I-I don't like being away from Mommy.....can we go back? Please?" half begging with another whine before, Codex mentioned of playing tag before going further into the woods to gather their mother's favorite food. "I-I gu-..." being cut off as her brother poked her in the shoulder to start the game of tag. Shaking her head with a giggle as she chased after him, an almost catching him before slamming to a halt at the sight of another wolf in front of them. Smelling once the familiar scent of home before, realizing it was someone in her pack. Who it was, she didn't know quite yet, leaving Codex to do the talking. Her ears swiveling as she focused onto the wolf her brother said was Rowan. "Hi Rowan.....I-I don't wanna explore anymore.....can you take us back to see mommy?" whining out her answer as she got closer to now the only safe place she could think of being under Rowan's stomach. The young pup nuzzling up to Rowan with another low whine emitting from deep within. "I wanna go back home." nodding once as she peeked out to look up at him with her hazel eyes.

Rowan / M / 1y 6m / Lambda / Just outside camp / Mentions: Codex, Fern, open

Rowan's gaze darted from the pair of pups back towards camp. It seems that they'd come out here unaccompanied. With any luck, he'd have them home again before anyone even noticed they were gone. Codex was cowering slightly in apology for the collision, and Rowan hurried to reassure him. "That's alright, Codex. No harm done." He had hardly the time to get a few words in before Codex launched into his explanation for leaving camp. The pup was bold and adventurous, that was for sure. And poor little Fern seemed just as scared to be outside of camp on her own as her brother was excited. Ordering the two of them to return to camp wouldn't work. He risked Codex rebelling and running even farther from camp... No, he'd have to turn this into a game if he wanted to keep Codex entertained while helping Fern to feel safe.

Rowan backed up slightly so he could sit, allowing Fern to remain nestled between his front legs. Attempting to adopt his alpha's authoritative tone, Rowan laid out the plan. "Codex, I have a very important mission for you. Young Fern requires an escort back to camp. I'll need a brave and strong and fast wolf to help me protect her. Can I count on you?" Rowan stood once more, giving Fern a gentle nudge with his nose to encourage her to do the same. He only hoped they wouldn't actually need to protect Fern from anything dangerous on their way home... Chai had already lost so much, and he couldn't let the young mother lose her pups too.

OOC - Sorry for the delay, folks! Seems like we've all been busy. Aaand of course as I was proofreading, accidentally went back a page and lost the whole post. Woo. Second time's the charm, I hope
