Any worldbuilders?

Any worldbuilders?

Helllooo! I'm gonna keep this pretty short and sweet- but despite being an early access player I haven't really got to know anyone in WD's community so- Are there any worldbuilders here on WD?

I've been worldbuilding for fun in my spare time for around 8 years now and just started working on a new world earlier this year! And I'd love to meet some other people who have a similar interest and also like to make worlds-

Feel free to answer these questions! :0
Is your world based around humanoid or feral [animal] characters?
Is it realistic or fantasy?
How long have you been working on it?
How many characters do you have in it [if any!]
What's your favourite part about world-building?
Are you working on more than one world?
Do/does your world[s] have a name[s]?

I'm just super curious to see if there are others around! And I love love love hearing about everyone else's worlds!
Please, tell me anything about them!

Here are my answers to the questions if you're curious, feel free to ask me anything else if you want!

Is your world based around humanoid or feral [animal] characters?
Both of my worlds are human-focused, with World1 moreso than Cyanthane, my second world. Cyanthane is kinda 50/50 as everyone within that world is born with an animal companion known as a familial.

Is it realistic or fantasy?
Both worlds use fantasy elements! World1 delves into the world of angels, demons, werefolk, kin, celestials and so many others! It's very similar to Earth, but is set quite far into the future, so it's like a mix of Sci-Fi and fantasy!

As for Cyanthane, it's also fantasy but doesn't have any elements such as the afterlife, angels, demons, etc etc. So it's more realistic but has some other fantasy/power systems.

How long have you been working on it?
I have been working on World1 with a friend of mine since 2013, which means it's 8 years old this year! As for Cyanthane, it's barely three months old! Though I marked the official start date as June the 8th, which makes it under a month old!

How many characters do you have in it [if any!]
The official count for World1 as of today is at 104 active characters! It's uh,, a lot to manage, and I can't say I love them all equally.

As for Cyanthane, it's at a more reasonable number of 8 characters, only 4 of which are properly developed. ;;

What's your favourite part about world-building?
Honestly- I'm not sure I can pick. Probably working out strange systems like demon genetics or linking characters to one another! I love working out where characters may fit in to a wider world!

Are you working on more than one world?
I mean- I think it's pretty obvious that I'm working on two. I also casually work on a couple of others with a few friends, I love love love cross-world links.

As for what they're called! My first world is lazily named World1, as I couldn't work out what to call it. The second one went under the working name Vers2, but as of right now I'm only working on one planet so it's under the name Cyanthane, which is the name of the planet!

I never really thought of myself as a worldbuilder, but I guess that's what I am. I build worlds for light scifi novels that I write from time to time.

Is your world based around humanoid or feral [animal] characters?

Both! My favorite world, which I've been actively developing for over a decade, includes both human and animal characters.

Is it realistic or fantasy?

My worlds are always realistic. Everything is based on science, even if I don't explain it fully.

How long have you been working on it?

I've been actively developing my favorite world since 2008, but the concept has been in my head since I was a child. I'm 40 years old now.

How many characters do you have in it [if any!]

Dozens of characters live in my favorite world. I don't always make notes about them, so sometimes I'll forget someone and replace them with a new character.

What's your favorite part about world-building?

I guess my favorite part would be imagining the daily lives of the characters. Where do they live? What do they eat? Where do they shop? What are their jobs? Where do they go to school? What bands/music do they like? What books do they read?

Are you working on more than one world?

Sort of, yes. While most of my creative energy is spent on my favorite world, I'm also kind of thinking about the sequel to one of my novels that is in a different world.

Do/does your world[s] have a name[s]?

Not exactly. My favorite world is a version of Earth, so I never bothered to give it its own name. The other world is completely different, but I didn't give that one a name either. I gave the countries in it names, but not the world as a whole.

I'm A Little Bit Of A Worldbuilder (I Guess), But A World I'm Working On Is Called 'The Infinite-World' And It's Where Species, Places, And Things The All Over Galaxy Have Gone Missing. With Those Species Ending Up In The Infinite-World. The Infinite-World Is A Place Somewhere In Another Dimension Where Super Duper Intelligent Aliens Have Created It For Entertainment And Would Keep Adding On To This World Filled With Different Biomes And Animals From Other Planets. Its Impossible To Say How Big It Is, But It Does Seem Like It Goes On Forever. Then These Aliens Would Treat This Like A Game Where They Would Let Intelligent Species, Similar To Humans, Choose A Person To Get Kidnapped Into The Infinite-World Forever. For Free It Seems Like. The Only Way People Would Know About This Game Would Be By Word Though.

That's The Simple Explanation Of It. I Have Created A Bit Of Characters In This World, Each Of Them Intertwining In the Same Story In A Way. A List Of Them: Is A Small Family That Lives In The Infinite-World, A Human Robot Partner Duo That Work In A Branch Of Government That Tries To Uncover Where All The Missing People Are Going, And A Pair That Travels The World Of The Infinite-World To Maybe Uncover Its Secrets? I Haven't Gone That Far Yet. :/

I Don't Know How Good Of An Idea It Is Though, But I'm Proud Of It.
