Custom Wolves - Worth it at this point?

Custom Wolves - Worth it at this point?
Posted 2020-09-26 02:44:15 (edited)

edit: I ended up spending most of my GC on breeding stuff instead, and when I end up buying GC again I think I'll spend it on making my leader/stud prettier! Thanks for your opinions though :D

Not talking about your leader or companion; I mean, wolves you pay 20+ GC to get. Do those of you who have done it feel it was a worthwhile investment? Do any of you think if you have the GC, you should just give your lead more markings instead? Or is it more worthwhile to customize a NBW with good stats?

I'm asking because I have 28 GC, and I'd really like to put a wolf I intend to keep on my hunting team. My two NBWs are... fine, but I really don't think I'll be holding onto them long term. I want my pack to be really fun to look at, and the wolves that will stay until death will be lore-important as well! Obviously most everyone on the TC only has NBW to offer, so... should I make one myself? Or customize a wolf I already have? Or just wait until puppies start growing up and get a permie I like from that?

All opinions welcome!

I honestly don't think so... then again, everything seems overpriced at the moment, honestly.

I would wait for more markings, especially RMA exclusives (not sure if there are any atm, according to item tooltip). The ones you get through customize are Tier 2 at best and I think it is better to hold on to your currency now.

This is your call, of course! :)

i suppose that depends on what you're wanting out of it! if you just want a pretty wolf you can put into your hunting party, i see nothing wrong with spending some GC to make it happen :> with that being said you might want to take your time deciding what wolf you'll make, since you said you likely won't be keeping them long-term!

BUT if you want more efficiency hunting-wise, you might want to look for a wolf with high stats for the desired role and just customize that already existing one!

there's no wrong way to play, not now and not ever, so if you just feel like doing something even if others don't find it worth it... still, go for it!

wolvden.com

This is my dream lead, however half his markings and his base are unavailable as customs.

I'm holding on till they get released, hopefully...

I did the random shuffle and yeah if I had it to do again I would not. My base is Pale but I got so many yellow, red, and cream markings you can't even tell what base it is -or at least it's not the color I was after. Edit - Ended up paying to remove those markings that didn't match so paid more than if I had just customized.

Customizing might have been the better way to go.

I have bought several base changers though and would definitely recommend that. If you are wanting to try for a specific base that is breed only it's nice to get a few of your wolves having a base that could actually have them.

Probably not worth it. I spent a lot to customize my guy, but I am happy with his looks- even if he has markings that most aren’t interested in. The economy is super weird rn

Yeah I noticed it was kind of weird. I ended up customizing my lead because I wanted him to be special, but I mostly just beefed up the look he already had.
