Looking For: 1x1 RP Partner, Semi-Lit to Lit
Posted 2021-05-13 10:55:07

Howdy, howdy! Best to preface this by saying I have never made any sort of "looking for" post before, so if I misstep or say something wrong, that's my bad. I've never actually done anything relating to roleplay forums (unless you count Scratch.mit.edu) and I've really only had two main roleplay partners in my life, though I've done a couple small ones with my friends here and there. So, seeing as how Wolvden seems to have a somewhat active roleplay community, I figured it was time to put myself out there and make one of these posts!

Warning aside, I'll be jumping right in now.

Hi, I'm Mac, I'm -18 (I don't give out my exact age, if that makes you uncomfortable that's understandable!), They/She and interested in looking for a semi-lit to lit roleplay partner. Fine with adults, so long as you keep in mind I am young and most likely won't be at your skill level. I don't want to make my expectations too high, as I struggle with my own "inspiration" and can struggle with long replies, though if need be I can comfortably get around 4+ paragraphs, so long as I'm given time. I've never used the Wolvden PM system save for one time (When my friend gifted me a bunch of starting supplies) so I'd probably need a bit of guidance. I do have a discord, if you'd prefer that. Sometimes, I do lose interest in roleplays, but I'll try my best to tell you if that's happening. Fair warning, I suffer from pretty bad anxiety when talking to people, so sometimes I might take a few days to reply just to keep myself from getting psyched out.

While romance is not necessary for me, I am interested in it. However, if you do wish to do romance, my one condition is that I do FxF romance. I myself am a lesbian, I am not interested in men, and I cannot truly do a romance like that (A note: I am fine with nonbinary characters and a romance in that way, I just do not have any interest in a romance with a male character. If you really want, I could play a male and make it work that way, but other than that... F/F please).

If romance is not your style, that's understandable! In that case, I don't care about character gender whatsoever, go absolutely wild! I prefer playing women/female aligned characters, so that's something I'll do most of the time, if not always. If you're interested despite all that garble, I'll be putting some potential plots down below! Thank you for checking it out, and apologies if I've come across as off-putting due to the way I type. This will most likely be updated as I come up with more plot ideas.

Western (Magical)

In a lawless land where outlaws and bandits run wild with bounty hunters trying desperately to corral them, one may find that there are only a few ways to survive: Either you get lucky, or you get your hands dirty. However, there are some folks who took matters into their own hands, hunting through the world in order to find another ticket, another way out. Before the world had grown rough, a "fountain" of power had been uncovered, one which grants whoever obtains it strange powers. Some of these powers allow controlling of elements, while others can alter the very being of the user. Upon hearing of this Magic, the race was on between the law and the underworld, with people racing to get their hands on this power before it either ran out, or got in the hands of their rivals. In the end, the rush died away and left only a couple hundred people with powers of any substance, though it altered the population in unforgettable ways. Some people found metals always sticking to their skin, others found jumping to be far easier, and life was forever changed. Now, as the world enters a new era, one of development fueled by the magic discovered, many people wonder: what comes next?

Your character could be just about anything, from a wealthy socialite who is a direct descendant from a bloodline who had been touched by magic first, to a bandit trying to survive in a world that they're a bit too mundane for. My character, an up and coming crime boss named Eileen Sweeny, has been trying to subtly shift the way the world is moving, though her efforts are often in vain. Perhaps she takes note of your characters skill with magic (something she lacks, though she'll never admit so) or perhaps your character has been working under her for quite some time. Up to you!

Modern Fantasy

Picture this: Trains zipping down the country side, buses and cars fighting for lanes, people on bikes rushing down the streets of the downtown in an effort to be faster than the other. You step inside a coffee shop, one you had been going to for years, so much so that the man serving you is able to welcome you with a toothy grin and recite your order perfectly. He passes the drink to you as you sit down at a table, tuning into the current news. The weather will likely be getting hotter, your favorite sports team won the championship, and downtown a monster rages in the distance in an effort to kill everyone and destroy everything. You sip your coffee with a tired sigh, watching the orc who made your coffee disappear to go take his break. Just a normal day.

In this setting, magic and fantasy staples are found everywhere, and even the most mundane person can have a knack for studying magic. You can be just about anything, from a being descended from a celestial heaven to a high elf who just wants to quit their job and move away. Whatever you can think of is open! My character, a being best described a Changeling (think 5e DND when I say that) is better known by her human identity, Lorianne Ward. She's a small bookshop owner, who in her spare time, dons a new identity in an attempt to stop the monsters that have been wreaking havoc on the city, and figure out just what is causing them. Perhaps Lorainne saves your character during an attack, or your character frequents her bookstore.

While I do have several more ideas, those would be actual settings that I would have to explain quite a lot of lore of. I am a dungeon master for a couple DND 5e games, as well as a player in several others and a player in other TTRPG systems. As such, this is going to be an effort for me to step outside of my comfort zone of "roll the dice for your success." Of course, if you like that randomness, I can throw together a quick stat system and make a discord server, though that'd be best if we worked it out in DMs. Listed below are other things I'd be interested in:

  • Bloodborne Inspired Roleplay (though I HIGHLY doubt this one will get anything to be fair but if you mention this I'll cry tears of joy please indulge my stupid interest)
  • Darkest Dungeon (AGAIN I don't think anybody would be into this but oh my if you say this you'll be my favorite person ever)
  • Monster Hunter (specifically World, that's what I have the most knowledge on)
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender (preferably ocs, preferably set in Korra's era)
  • Apocalyptic setting (Think Fallout)
  • Sci-fi Future (though you'd probably be guiding me through that, I've only dabbled in Sci-Fi)
  • Shifter Based (Werewolves, that sorta stuff)

If any of that interests you, please send me a PM! And if you have any ideas yourself, please tell me! Definitely want to get more into the roleplay scene, which is why I'm putting myself out there and making a post in here. If anything needs to be clarified, don't be afraid to tell me! And if something does get your interest but you have specific ideas/things you wish to work out, tell me. For any of the ones with canon characters listed (MHW, DD, BB) tell me if you'd like to play any preferred character. I do have pairings for those that I like, but other than that...

For actual content in the roleplay, this is what I tend to prefer, be it characters or content, though of course I'm open for most anything:

  • Hurt/Comfort (No angst for no reason, please, just because I can't really do "Sad for the sake of Sad")
  • Fluff (If you just want shenanigans between characters, I am totally down for that!)
  • Romance (Yeah...)
  • Plot-based (If we decide to do a story, that'll make me go Feral in a Good Way

As one final note, if things start getting a bit silly (I.e: One sentence replies because characters are bantering) that's really fine! You don't need pages long replies for me! Of course, when the time for substance comes, I want my partner to return the effort, but if it's just a silly little scene where characters are goofing off, don't feel pressured to write some masterpiece. This is all for fun, after all! Thanks again for you time and reading, I hope this was done right, and please PM me if you're interested! Have a good day! (accidentally made the post way too long, whoops!)
