BLOODLINES AND BREEDING

We are keeping track of the best-stat breeders for specific hunting roles. In this post you will find links to role-specific studs with basic information about their bloodlines and features. We are also tracking G1 and low-gen hunters currently in training that are reported to us.

If you are training a low-gen or NBW hunter, please let us know, and we will include them in the appropriate lists.

BEST STUDS

(ranked by their total role-specific stats in relation to each other at the time of recording)

STALKER STUDS

🔥Toddy ☄️ - LV20 / 974: 291/288; TOTAL STALKER STATS 579. BASE: FOX. AGE: 5Y11.5M
Bloodline: Spitfire, Faelor; G1 'Auggy'
Pros: Great stalker stats, t3 base, affordable price. Ancestry is short and easy to parse.
Cons: Faelor heritage is a big problem for many of our top stalkers, given Faelor's popularity as one of the first fox studs, as well as a stud with good stalker stats.

Antioch - LV20, 1180: 261/305; TOTAL STALKER STATS 566. BASE: FOX. AGE: 3Y5M.
Bloodline: G1 'Beauregarde', G1 'Lilka'
Pros: Very high overall stats, good stalker stats, and t3 base. Gen2, which is of extreme interest; in addition, very young - this wolf has a lot of time to grow in stats.
Cons: Antioch is a lead wolf, and accordingly, any stat gain done will not be focused in the stalker stats. Somewhat on the pricier side. Antioch is on the leaderboards and will continue to rise, meaning he will be a big name in the stat breeding meta in time. Your stalkers will probably be more breedable in the long term if a different G2 sires them.

Pandercetes - LV19, 914: 267/293; TOTAL STALKER STATS 560. BASE: MELCHIOR. AGE: 4Y4.5M.
Bloodline: G1 ' Eada Megenred', G1 'Lichen'
Pros: Very affordable Gen2 stalker stud with plenty of lifespan left to grow in. Has a levelup left, which will likely add a good 15-30st to the stalker total.
Cons: Honestly? None. If you're breeding for tier 3 wolves he won't help you, but this is a gen2 stud with growing left to do and barely any pups bred. An excellent choice for anyone. Probably my top choice for my stalker's next litter out of the current options.

Cobra - LV20, 969: 264/261; TOTAL STALKER STATS 525. BASE: FOX. AGE: 5Y4M.
Bloodline: G1 'Norther', G1 'Thames'
Pros: Affordable Gen2 fox stud, still with some stat gain time left in his lifespan.
Cons: Unfortunately, he's well-known as a G2 fox stud so has a large pup count; his offspring are probably going to be everywhere in our next stalker generations. Your stalkers will probably be more breedable in the long term if a different G2 sires them.

✱ The Red Sea - LV17, 844: 271/252; TOTAL STALKER STATS. BASE: SELENE. AGE: 3Y0.5M.
Bloodline: G2 'Lapping Mist', G1 'Hatchling Hawk'
Pros: G3 Selene, the only special base on this list so far. Red Sea is astonishingly young to be in the top 3, with three level-ups left, so I expect this stud to grow a great deal over their lifespan. At the time of this listing there are no pups bred, so I assume they have only recently been put for stud. Definitely one to keep an eye on!
Cons: The price is really quite high for being the fifth best stalker stud, but there aren't any other specials on this list, so. G3 isn't quite as prestigious as G2, but with none of the names being big ones, it's no functional difference.

G1 HUNTERS

This section is specifically for members' or non-members' wolves who are volunteered for the new blood breeding program. i.e. please tell us if you're training a G1 wolf who you'd be willing to loan to another user for pair-bonding, breeding, then bond-breaking and return. This would only occur towards the end of their breeding lifespan when their stats are highest.

reserve post 3 - data about XP gain, breeding pass rates for stats, and the stat ceiling

🌿ɛlɛutheriahaswon🌿

DATA WISHLIST: looking for data on stalker stat floors by biome! When you're training a stalker, please note down their wisdom and smarts at the time of discovering a new trail size, along with the biome they were in!

reserve post -math around hunting, XP by biome and trail size, stat floors, etc

(hey Ele where do you think this should go?)

STALKER SWAP TRAINING, pioneered by Spontaneite!

Requirements:

-Lv20 Stalker capable of finding large trails in high-end biome
-Lv20 or 19 rest of hunting party capable of taking prey in high-end biome
-A complete set of hunter trainees, who are shit

Procedure:

- Slap the lv20 stalker into the trainee party. Slap the trainee stalker into the lv20 party.

- Larger trails give more exp than smaller trails, even when unsuccessful. Successful hunts give more exp than unsuccessful of the same type.

- Lv20 stalker will find large and medium trails for the trainee hunters. The trainee hunters will catch pretty much none of it, because they are shit, but they will get big exp anyway - much bigger exp than they'd have got from a trainee stalker, because the trails are large.

- Trainee stalker will find absolutely shite trails, because they are crap, but because they're supported by Lv20 hunting party, pretty much all of the hunts will be successful, getting better exp than if they were hunting with other shit hunters.

- Lv20 hunters will still get their daily random stat gains as normal, and will continue to grow while training up the next lot. As they are lv20, it doesn't matter that they're getting less exp than they would with their best companions.

- literally the only downside of this is that you'll have a lot of small prey for a while, and due to synergy hits the mentor stalker's trailfinding will be a bit less good till it goes up again. It also means you need to deplete 2 hunting parties daily or you won't get optimum gains, which might be a bit much for people who aren't glued to wolvden.

BIOME SPECIFIC HUNTING EXP

nb: max hunter proficiency assumed. therefore may never gather data for very low level hunter exp.

Data for levels lower than 20 are extrapolated based on relative exp gain data; i.e. the ranges for lv20 exp gain are multiplied by the average percentage of a lv20's exp that the specific level gains from the hunt. E.g. if Lv18 on average earns 80% as much exp from a hunt as a Lv20, the Lv20 exp range for a biome's hunt will be multiplied by 0.8 to arrive at the predicted exp range for that level. The data on relative level ranges will be provided elsewhere.

Data Gathering Plans:
- Try to get an estimation of how much proficiency affects EXP gain by assigning a high level scout as a hunter and calculating their relative exp gain for every proficiency increase
- Finish calculating the relative level EXP data

also gonna keep the interest list here for now:

OPTIONAL FORMAT FOR MEMBER POSTS

If you like, you can make a MEMBER POST, containing useful information about your breeding hunters and your own hunting plans and progress. This is not obligatory! If you make a member post, we will link it to your member name in the list so it's easily accessible. Making a member post allows us to keep better track of the breeding pool.

The most useful information will be pointed out in the comments in the example format below.

[[comments in double square brackets]]

USERNAME (PACK NAME)

Updated: (date)

Personal Priorities: [[One or two of your main priorities as a WD user! i.e. hunter training and breeding, t3 breeding. Not terribly important.]]
-
-

Current Hunting Status: [[Your current plans and status on the hunting progress, e.g. your primary biome, the largest prey you can catch in the hardest biome, if you have any hunter-related plans going on. Good to know, but not terribly important.]]
-
-

Hunter Breeding: [[What, if anything, you are doing / plan to do to further the cause of Hunting in general. I.e. breeding your best hunters, training lowgen or no-big-name hunters. This information is important to us. We especially want to know if you have good breeding wolves that are low gen with no big names, particularly G1s.]]

Active Hunting Parties: [[How many hunting parties you use at least 5 hunts for daily. Not terribly important.]]

HUNTERS

[[ Here you can report your best or most breeding-valuable hunters! We encourage you to put your top two or three hunters of every role, plus any lowgen/no-big/name hunters you have.

Example formats for showing wolves are below. We do not need all of this information, feel free not to give it. If you want to provide anything, the most important things are: a link to the wolf, their breeding role (M/F), their role specific stats (e.g. smart/wisdom for stalkers), and their bloodline (e.g. Faelor, Sunfall).]]

Stalkers:

[EXAMPLE:

Akava: Lv20 F || 1041st: 301/308 || 5y11.5m (1 litter remaining)
Bloodline: Faelor
Status: in Stalker Swap training with trainee hunting party; building stats for final litter

+1 stalker too old to breed]]

Chasers:

[[EXAMPLE:

Lauya: Lv20 F || 1056st: 322/303 || 5y10m (two litters remaining)
Bloodline: Jay 💎/Oleander🔮, Kubo💮
Status: being awesome, building up stat gains for the final litters

+several other non-career chasers who may be rotated out]]

Finishers:

[[EXAMPLE:

Imaivana: Lv20 F || 1134st: 428 || 5y6.5m (2 litters remaining)
Bloodline: Sunfall (Michael Skarn/Scott, Shadow, etc)
Status: leaderboard wolf, gaining stats for final litters]]

SPONTANEITE (THE EXIOPTERA PACK)

Updated 30 04 2021

Personal Priorities:
- breeding and training high stat hunters with the aim of eventually hunting large trails in glacier or rainforest.
- breeding t3s with decent stats and okayish lineages

Current Hunting Status:
- Main biome is Taiga, where my primary team can hunt large prey consistently at around 42% success rate in summer and fall
- Conducting 'Stalker Swap Training' to train up
- Will be moving to Tundra sometime this spring to assess stalker stat floors, and hunting exp for lv20 wolves
-  Nearing final litters for current best hunters, thinking about succession

Hunter Breeding: breeding prime hunters for high tier pups for sale or subsidy. No current prime breeders without big names. Plans to incorporate G1 wolves into hunting parties for training fresh blood breeders.
