Cattails!!! I really like Cattails, it's just a shame there's not a whole lot to do, at least compared to Stardew Valley as so many people try to compare it to.

Oh dear, I have way too many favourites... Maybe I'll try narrow the list down to five!

  1. Minecraft (can't believe i've been playing this one for so many years)
  2. Moshi Monsters (all of them... for nostalgic reasons)
  3. Stardew Valley
  4. Pokemon: Black / White (love these games. beautiful, moving story)
  5. Genshin Impact (currently one of my favs, but may change when the hype dies down)

I also didn't mind Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but they're not quite good enough to make top 5, haha.

  • Tropico 4
  • Terraria
  • Slime Rancher
  • The Sims 4 (I haven't played any other Sims games besides 4)
  • Night in the Woods
  • Ultimate Chicken Horse
  • Okami (this game gets me emotional everytime I think about it)
  • Ocarina of Time
  • Minecraft
  • Stardew Valley
  • Dragon Age: Origins
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf
  • Metal Slug (LOVE THIS FRANCHISE)
  • Portal 2
  • Don't Starve
  • Gris
  • Kingdom Hearts 2
  • Donkey Kong Country 2
  • Crash Bandicoot franchise
  • Super Mario World
  • Kid Icarus Uprising (aka the best thing Sakurai ever made that my thumbs have PTSD about it)

Honorable mentions:

  • Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver (I've fallen out of love for the Pokémon franchise ever since Sun & Moon, but I'll defend Gen 4 and Gen 5 with every fiber of my body!)
  • Sim City 2000 (for nostalgia reasons)
  • Lisa: The Painful (I don't have the guts to play it, but I have veeeeery strong feelings about this masterpiece of a game)
  • Ace Attorney
  • Super Bomberman (It was my go to game to play with my dad when I was a child, so I have lots of love for the bomberman games, mainly the SNES ones)
  • League of Legends (I have a love-hate relationship with League)
  • Faith 1 and 2 (these games are scarier than any other horror game that I know, and they have atari graphics, it's amazing)
  • Final Fantasy 12 (again, nostalgia reasons)
  • Disney's Goof Troop for the SNES (my dad loved to play this game with me, it was tons of fun)

  • red dead redemption 2 (i also adore the first game, it's one of my childhood favorites)
  • bloodborne
  • journey

these three are sort of the pinnacle of my love for video games, with red dead redemption 2 being an experience that literally changed me. it brought me up and broke me down and... it's just something i'll never forget. i could go on and on about that game. when i finished my first playthrough arthur didn't even feel like a video game character, he was a real person that i knew. i also love charles smith, lenny, hosea, and some of the other gang members. everyone in that game is so real. i'm on my second playthrough of this game currently. as for the first game, i remember playing it all the time and watching my father play it. i probably played the first one 2-3 times over throughout my childhood.

bloodborne is a game i've spent hundreds of hours in, i've experienced the bloodborne story so much it's kind of burned into my mind. i received the platinum for bloodborne sometime earlier this year, and the first time i played and beat the main game (not hunter's nightmare) i remember crying. idk why i did, but the soundtrack just made the moment so intense and heavy that i just... cried. bloodborne really is the top tier of eldritch victorian horror games, there's nothing like it. the soundtrack gives me chills, the boss fights are spectacular, and the story is so amazingly mysterious you always go back for more and more. my favorite fights from that game have to be gascoigne and ludwig. just... *chef's kiss*

journey... i remember playing it so so so many times. the soundtrack, like bloodborne's, really emphasizes everything that game has to offer and just... man. i always cry at the end, when you scale the mountain with your companion, and the score really kicks in and just flows through you in this incredibly surreal moment as you fly through the air. the anonymity granted to you in the game also makes the multiplayer aspect of it so fresh and different. it's one of thatgamecompany's best experiences.

this post is really long so here are some honorable mentions (these games are really really amazing, i just don't want to make my post longer than it already is):

  • dark souls 3
  • monster hunter world: iceborne
  • alice: madness returns

  • Mass Effect (RPG? Aliens? Good soundtrack? Romances? Crying hysterically in my preteens cause of Shakarian? Sign me up!)
  • Dragon Age (Same as above pretty much with the added pretense of me enjoying high fantasy as a genre)
  • Pokemon (My childhood, apart of me forever w/ my cubone tattoo)
  • Okami (The game that got me into games, there is so much I can say about this masterpiece so I'll just leave it to: Blockhead Grande w/ hand tremors is awful but everything else is 10/10)
  • Zoo Tycoon 2 (Absolutely gutted I can't play this atm on any of my devices, I absolutely love park builders and IMO Zoo Tycoon was the best of them)
  • Viva Pinata (Same as above, honestly this game was criminally underrated back in the day)
  • Fallout (New Vegas especially for me)
  • God of War (Honestly love the character development and bonding between Atreus and Kratos. I think it helped me gain a new perspective on parenting as well since there were definitely times I wanted to scold Atreus haha)
  • The Witcher (3 mainly, but a bit of 2 for the supporting characters whom I adore. I'm a Trophy Hunter on Playstation and this is one of three games, the others being God of War and Dragon Age: Inquisition, that didn't feel like a chore in some places just because I was that passionate about the game)
