Which wolf would make a better stud?

Hey Wolvden! Just wanted some opinions on which wolf to make my future stud.

Option 1: G1 Fox (shown below is more or less what he'd look like after customization)

His stats are kinda lacking at <200 and he has only one special mark, but I'll probably end up RMAing him a bunch just for funsies and also be scouting the heck out of him.

Option 2: G2 Luna (shown below is her after customization)

Her base stats are better at 292, and she also has 3 special marks, will likely have violet eyes, and is younger. She's descended from Shobolilusa though 0;

If you pitch in with your Thoughts^tm, you'll be entitled to a refunded breeding from whichever wolf I end up choosing ^.^ just include it in the notes when you send your request

G1 fox IMO, definitely. There's plenty of G1 merle lunas/selenes out there and she doesn't have enough stats or anything to make her stand out from the crowd, and she's related to a T3 line already. On the other hand, there's far fewer G1 foxes out there, and it's much more expensive to make them, so even if his stats are lesser I think he'd be the better choice in the long term. :> (Also, that design you have planned is very pretty!) G1 T3 is always a good advertising point, too.

Completely agree with Unsknown on G1 Fox! I personally breed for natural looks and I would totally stud to him! He really stands out from a lot of other studs I've seen and I think he'd make beautiful pups.

I agree. Scouting can always fix up those stats. A G1 T3 is a better choice than a Special who's already related to a stud with so many puppies.

As a stud, the G1 fox would be the better moneymaker. As others have stated, it's a lot harder to get a G1 fox than a low-gen luna, so it's a lot more in demand.

If it were me, though, I'd make the luna my stud and just sell the fox for hot cash.

• Personal preference: I love the luna's design. In general I like the luna base way more than fox and would be way more stoked to get a luna pup than a fox pup from breeding in-pack. Even the special fails could get white merle which is basically my favorite marking.
  
• I don't think the luna's lineage is bad at all; she's G2 clean and her father isn't -that- big (500 pups is not a huge deal these days). The only possible issue is if you have a lot of other Shobo pups in your pack it would limit your breeding.
• 100 stats isn't a trivial amount. Obviously, whoever you pick, you'd train them up. But the fox will hit max level at around 700 stats, which is still really meh for a stud, while the luna will be around 800 which is more decent.

I tend to base my stud decisions on "What breeding do I personally want to do?" rather than the market, so I'm coming from that perspective.

Shobolilusa definitely isn't the worst ancestor you could have, that's for sure, and I don't think people avoid him. I mostly just wonder if there's better candidates that hit the same boxes she does, though. Like this pup on the TC is a G2 with 290 stats and black merle patches, but from a pairbond where the dad has 4 pups instead of being an active stud. :O
