Kallista: The War Between The Wolves

Backstory

In the vast and beautiful country of Kallista, four wolf packs reside, ruling over the huge territory. From the powerful Starspirits to the hot-tempered Emberlights, the wolves have truly evolved into great beings.

But soon, a famine arrives, spreading death and sorrow across the land. Wolves and creatures alike starve, waiting for the end.

But when the famine ends and feasting returns...who will be in charge? Will the remaining wolves of the packs be able to find peace? Or will they go to war?

The Packs

Starspirit: The wolves of Starspirit are known to be smart, crafty and powerful, their abilities and control over magic endless.

Riversong: The wolves of Riversong are known to be kind, gentle and playful, with much control over water, marine animals and weather.

Meadowswift: The wolves of Meadowswift are known to be quiet, soft and sweet. They have control over all things nature.

Emberlight: The wolves of Emberlight are known to be cruel, snarky and sly. Their powers consist of physical strength and growth.

Once more people join, I'll add my first post. I'll also add my character sheet in the joining thread.

RULES:

1. No godmodding/powerplaying

2. No heavy swearing

3. No detailed mating/breeding

4. Keep sexual content to minimum

5. Ask before killing

6. No “miss” “dodge”

7. Be kind and patient

8. Write at least a few sentences

At this moment it is May, the month animals should be frolicking in the grassy fields, the month food and water should be plentiful. Instead, the fields and forests are quiet, empty of creatures. The riverbeds are dry, no water to fill them up.

Evening Star - Forest - Hunting

Evening Star trotted through the woods, feeling the wind ruffling her silvery-white fur. She scanned the trees, searching for any kind of prey.

It had been a few months since the famine hit; it was pure luck that she and her mate, Wind Spirit, had managed to survive the hard weeks. Half of her pack had died of starvation. The remaining fragments of it were hungry.

She crouched down, seeing movement in the undergrowth. A small mischief of mice were scurrying out of their burrows, squeaking softly. She tensed, then leapt, managing to pounce on two small mice, the rest scrambling for shelter. She glanced at the burrows, the smell of mice reeking from the holes. She turned away, the two mice hanging from her jaws. She’d come back later. A good hunting site.

          Shadow-  forest - exploring

Shadow walked through the dying plants. she hoped this drought wouldn't last much longer, not wanting the plants to die out completely. as she walked, she listened to the nature.

(Okay, saw it. Would you mind just using the post format I wrote in the Joining Thread? That way I don't get mixed up.)

After one last glance around the burrows, she turned away, lightly trotting back to her pack's camp. The forest was silent, not uncommon since the famine and droughts began. The grass and trees were a sickly yellow, not a good sign. Evening Star trotted a little faster. This was a sight she didn't want to see. The earth itself was dying.

      Shadow - forest - exploring

Shadow stops, looking around. it's been quiet for a long time. she wonders if any wolves with water abilities could rehydrate the earth, and wonders why no one has tried it yet.

Evening Star - Forest - Hunting/Trailing Shadow

The sun had reached its highest point in the sky as she neared the border of Starspirit, her pack. Then she paused. An odd, unknown scent was in the air. She scented the air. It was a lone wolf, nearing the camp. Evening Star's ruff bristled as she buried the mice in the hard, dry ground and sped towards the scent, trailing it.
