CAFF & JAY [RP]

Moe glared at Deluca but smoothed his fur after he gave them their options. Work? His whiskers twitched, him and Rook glancing at each other. The rat didn't really care either way, he'd manage.

"Sure..." Rook breathed a sigh of relief. His ears relaxing as he shifted to face Feara once the doberman had left. He sure was intimidating. Though, a lot of dogs were nowadays, and for a reason. Luckily the husky seemed friendlier. "Sorry again... We didn't mean to bother..." he sighed. "But we would like to stay. If it's actually fine, of course."

Uninterested and growing hungry, Moe leaped down to the floor. His ears rotating as he sniffed the air. There must be something edible nearby, even an insect would do. He doubted the dogs would care, it's not like they'd eat something like that.

Feara released a breath that she didn't realize she was holding while Deluca was in her presence. She blinked a couple times and looked to Rook and offered an apologetic smile to the lad.

"No, no need to apologize. I was supposed to be on watch last night but we haven't seen anything living around here in a while, so," Feara shrugged and rolled her eyes, mostly at herself. She gave another sigh and returned her attention to the male. "That'll be just fine, it'll be nice to have someone friendly and fun to talk to for once." Feara laughed under her breath. She got distracted by the movement of the rat jumping off of Rook and her tail resumed it's subtle wagging. "Cool friend you got there," she commented with a smirk.

Rook gave Feara a nod, seeing other living beings was pretty uncommon, and in his experience they often didn't want anything to do with others. Or perhaps they just wanted nothing to do with him and Moe, they weren't the most reliable looking duo after all. "Thanks. We appreciate it." A small smile formed on his lips.

He turned his gaze to the rat. "Ah, yeah. His name is Moe. We figured it could be beneficial to group up." Rook's tail started wagging lightly. "I'm Rook, by the way."

Moe gave a quick glance at the two dogs before scuttling to the prison yard in hopes of finding those tasty little buggers.

Her smirk rolled into a wide, genuine smile towards the boy. "Feara," she beamed as she introduced herself, though Rook probably had already gotten her name by Deluca giving her demands by name. Oh well. She watched Moe scurry off from the corner of her eye.

"Well, I have to go into town and get us something to eat, and by us I mean Deluca," her smile fell and the latter part of her statement was muttered under her breath. She turned to begin her departure, but paused, "wanna come?"

Rook gave Feara a nod as she introduced herself.

As she spoke about going into town, he was starting to fear he'd be left alone there. He wasn't too keen on stumbling into the dobe by himself, just yet at least. "Yeah, I can come." He perked up some more, taking a couple light steps after the husky. "Deluca is that doberman, right? Have you guys been here for long? We didn't really catch your scents in the wing we were in."

She jogged along and looked over at Rook as he followed along with her, heading towards the gate of the prison then north to the city.

"Oh, oh, yes, Deluca is the doberman. We've been here for a week, maybe, but we've only been hanging around the West wing, none of the other ones." She bobbed her head in a nod, she inhaled, "we should probably scout out the other wings just in case." She then exhaled, a little stressed and concerned now.

"Yeah... it probably wouldn't hurt," Rook hummed in agreement. "We already did East with Moe so it's halfway done."

He kept a brisk pace. His ears swiveling to pick up any off sounding noise, but their surroundings were awfully quiet. It was almost intimidating. He was used to the streets buzzing with life, people, cars, dogs, birds... Now they had all just disappeared. The mutt sighed through his nose, shaking the thought from his mind. There were more important things to worry about, like food. They probably should've taken Moe with them. He had been quite helpful when it came to finding something to eat. He could get into most buildings with no problem, and scout them out for food before any real time and effort was wasted.

She nodded again. She had peace that having more dogs -- er.. animals? -- in her and Deluca's little band would be beneficial! They'd get more done and the prison would be more secure. Feara chewed the inside of her cheek. Too bad Deluca was a bit of a pain in the neck when it came to accepting help from others. Hmph.

When they arrived she too breathed a sigh. She hadn't gotten used to the bustling city being turned into a ghost town overnight it seemed. Feara began towards a convenient store that she'd looted the day before. Maybe there was something else she could snag? Oh-- Feara looked over her shoulder, forgetting she had a partner this time.

"I've been doing this on my own for a while, even before I met Deluca," she admitted, "how do you and Moe scavenge?" She then asked, stopping her advancements only to turn and look at Rook.

Rook followed a few steps from Feara, stopping when she turned to look at him.

"Ah... well, we just go building by building. If the place is locked up, Moe can get in through the pipes or vents most of the time. He'd see if there's anything good inside and then we'd figure out a way for me to get in.... or if there's no way, Moe would grab whatever he could drag," he explained. "Being a rodent is pretty useful these days, I guess." Rook let out a small laugh. He certainly couldn't have imagined any pros to being a rat compared to being a dog, prior to now.
