a poll on custom decors

a poll on custom decors
Posted 2021-02-20 19:50:25

since im actually hoping to make most of my income off of custom decors, i thought i'd do a small poll on them

you can answer in the comments! id really appreciate feedback.

1. if an artist offered SC only options, would that appeal to you? (instead of paying gc along with SC, the artist calculates how much 5 gc would be in SC and offers to send the decor for you for the price of the 5gc to sc+typical sc)

2. what do you look for in custom decor? crowns? body decor? animals?

3. do you regularly buy custom decors?

4. for those who sell custom decors; what decors sold best for you? where did you find you got the most attention ad-wise?

1. I personally would never have enough sc handy to go for that option but variety is the spice of life and I’m sure someone would find it useful.Β

2. I want decor that fits seamlessly with the style and shading of Wolvden. Personally I want decor that is natural or crafted out of natural materials. I also have quite the interest in companion animals.

3.I did briefly when it was first implemented. I attempted to dress up my herbalist and the design looked terrible once everything was put together. I tried to buy another piece to tie it all together and that just made it worse. I’m going to wait for some way to preview custom decor designs on our wolves before purchasing more. I’d speculate custom decor will be a better revenue generator when people can be sure of their financial decisions before making them.

4. N/a

Good luck with your future sales! I look forward to seeing your art in the custom decor shop.Β

1. Yes! The additional GC price is a big reason why I haven't got any custom decors yet, even though there are a few that I would strongly consider buying

2. The quality of art and how well it blends in with Wolvden style, Subtle things which don't cover up too much of the wolf design, and things that match my personal lore and "pack theme" - I'm mostly interested in natural things like weather, or scars, or just small accessories that I could tie into my wolf's backstory like chains for my "escaped wolfdog" or some kind of halo affect for my future immortal wolf

3. No, I haven't bought anything yet, I just like browsing to make plans for what I would theoretically buy eventually if I had extra GC

1A: I prefer to pay in GC; it's what I always have on-hand.

2. what do you look for in custom decor? crowns? body decor? animals?

2A. Natural-themed body decor(what would the wolf find to adorn itself with in the wild? bones, feathers, antlers, furs, etc). Hybrid-body add-ons like horns, wings, tail options, etc. Ambient Decor like lighting effects, backgrounds, foliage; I like anything that sets the 'mood' of the wolf and their personality. Scars, tattoo or rank/hunter's markings, or old injuries also draw me in, because they play to the lore of the wolf.

3. do you regularly buy custom decors?

3A. Yes.

4. for those who sell custom decors; what decors sold best for you? where did you find you got the most attention ad-wise?

4A. N/A, I am only a buyer, not a maker.

  • It would have to depend on what the current GC to SC conversion rate was, which might be frustrating for both buyer/seller as it's always changing!

2. what do you look for in custom decor? crowns? body decor? animals?

  • I'm currently all over the place as to the decor I'm buying lol. I mostly just look for something that matches the style of wolvden art and that is more neutral/naturally colored. If I were to have to pick a catagory I'm most interested in it would be body decor!

3. do you regularly buy custom decors?

  • Yes. I have purchased at least 5 items and I always check to see if anything new has been added.

4. for those who sell custom decors; what decors sold best for you? where did you find you got the most attention ad-wise?

  • N/A

1. I find gc most convenient. If the prices were equivalent, I'd pretty much always go for gc.

2. Let's see:
- Animal companions are my favorite kind of decor.
- I like decor that serves as a small accent but doesn't dominate/cover up the wolf. So for example, I'd be interested in amulets or crowns, but not a big cloak.
- I tend not to like anything obviously man-made (e.g., military harnesses, chains, collars, goggles). (Exception: Weapons. Wolves with weapons are just cool)
- It makes me happy that joke decors exist (e.g., the Women Want Me, Fish Fear Me hat); I like seeing them on other people's wolves; but I probably wouldn't buy them myself because they don't really go with the lore/tone of my pack.

3. Semi-regularly. I've bought 7 things and have a list of others that I might want.

1. As long as GC is easier to come by than SC, probably not.

2. For most wolves, natural items as body decor (like flowers) or accessories crafted from natural materials (like flower crowns). Also anything that sets the scene (lighting, plants or animals, weather) or enhances the overall impression of the wolf (scars, expressions).

3. Semi-regularlyβ€” I'm on a break from it right now, but have a list of decors I will buy when I can. (Including a couple of yours, actually! Sprigs of lavender & autumn's blessing.)

4. n/a
