Have Keyboard, Will Write | Seeking Literate/Semi-Lit | Interest Check
Posted 2020-10-02 09:02:33 (edited)

Greetings,

My name is Artex, and I’ve been roleplaying for about fourteen years. The past few years haven’t flourished as much in the way of creative writing, due to school, but as of May I can officially say that I’ve graduated with my BA in English. Now that I have more time, it would be the greatest pleasure to rediscover what truly opened my eyes to the world of writing and development — roleplaying.

I am seeking individuals who prefer to write literate or semi-literate, with human or humanoid inclination. I may be able to be swayed to check out an animal plot, though.

I consider myself a bit crotchety when it comes to format and rules... the “old dog” set in their way, of sorts. Nicely separated paragraphs, possibly bolded dialogue, capitalization where capitalization is needed, etc.

The genres that I tend to gravitate toward are as follows: Human, Humanoid, Fantasy/High-Fantasy, Historical-Fiction, Science-Fiction, veins of Romance, Contemporary/Present-Day, Disaster/Adventure, Dystopian, Supernatural (such as vampires), etc

Fandoms — I’m not as keen about engaging in these, unless there is a good plot to really drive it, and we create our own characters. That being said, I’ve had experience with the following: J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe, Star Trek, Harry Potter, LOST, the Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, the Maze Runner, True Blood, the Vampire Chronicles, Twilight, classic fairytales, and Warrior cats.

I’m willing to create the roleplays if there is enough interest to get a couple of people together. Forum-based is my preferred medium, but we can discuss options. Or, let this post serve as my bold interest in your own literate/semi-literate stories.

Pressure-free atmosphere is a must. I’m more comfortable with 18+ as someone who is now 25-years-old. We all have various commitments and jobs, so I certainly understand when replies are delayed. My time zone is EST — I’m typically more available in the evenings, but also do expect responses during the day when time permits.

I look forward to meeting you all! If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, introductions, please feel welcome to post here or send a private message.

Let’s explore worlds!

Artex

Hello Artex,

id be interested in a literate role play as well and am open to most anything. I do work and take classes, but I manage to make them for posting. I’m 23 and open to all sorts of plot lines. I do prefer more of a fantasy based scenario, as I’m big into dungeons and dragons. I prefer to work in the forums or in a shared google document.

When I’m done with work I can message you some of my ideas.

It's nice to meet you, Ruyne! That all sounds very good to me, and I'd like to hear some ideas. Perhaps we can find one and build off of it and create something exciting. I don't have experience on a Google document, so I'd probably prefer doing it here, but we can discuss what might be better for the specific roleplay.

Hi SweetMagnolia! Supernatural is one of my favorite. I will message you a bit later when I’m on lunch or after work. I’ve spoken with two others who might be interested and I’ll be reaching back out to them today (the last two days have been quite exhausting for me, I apologize), so perhaps we will have a lovely little group soon.

Hey there Artex!

I turn 18 this month, if you are okay with that, I completely understand if not though! I am extremely busy on weekends most times, but more open during the week. I love supernatural-themed roleplays! I've been writing for 6 years now,(Yes, I was 11 on Animal Jam roleplaying XD) and I would consider myself in between semi-lit and lit, as I do prefer writing 3+ paragraphs, but usually don't write more than 5.   Either way, I'd be glad to RP with you!

Hi Xena!

I certainly relate to having started roleplaying at 11-years-old! Quite the adventure to grow up while learning how to write this way. I'd adore a supernatural-themed plot, and have a few ideas floating around in my head. Just waiting on a pause in how oddly busy I've been for the last couple of weeks. I'll reach out soon, or perhaps post here, and leave some ideas.

Hello Artex!

I go by West or Friday on most forums and write semi-lit to literate pieces regularly. I turn 22 in February.

I prefer canid- or supernatural- based roleplays, specifically those geared towards werewolves or shapeshifters, but I will write for just about any storyline and characters, including but not limited to felines, canines, humans, and a multitude of fantasy creatures. I currently have a human-apocalyptic roleplay (based on the I Am Legend movie) that is in the process of opening on Discord if you're open to roleplaying there. It will be a small-group of realistic, literate writers. I have an application/Sign-Ups thread here on Wolvden and one on Lioden, but so far it is myself and two others. If you're not interested in that, no biggie, I figured I'd throw it out there.

I'm always looking for storylines to explore and create a character for, though, so if you have any current cravings to write, I'd be happy to discuss ideas and come up with something we can both enjoy!

Thanks for your time!

Hello Artex!

I've been rping for several years too and have found I have good interest in fantasy and supernatural plots! I haven't found any time to be on any other rps other than the two I'm on, but one sounds up your alley!

I'm on a new site called Maturing Company, which features your character possibly being supernatural (you can hide it), and living in Norway in a city of magic! Thanks to the hidden qualities of characters, it has an element of mystery alongside fantasy, sci-fi (to an extent), and supernatural!

Just wanted to give a possible site! Rp

Hi West!

Any vein of supernatural and fantasy always catches my attention. I’ve never roleplayed on Discord, but I’m not opposed to it! I will go find your post in a moment and look it over. Apocalyptic is another absolute favorite of mine to explore. There are so many layers to it, and it’s quite an adventure. I have seen I Am Legend before, but it’s been several years, so I’ll try to refresh my memory on it to gain a better grasp.

Hello Drakka!

Thank you for the link! I will certainly go peruse the thread! Supernatural is always such a treat to unwrap. And Norway? Quite a gorgeous place, with such a rich history of traditions and lore. Scandinavian countries are of great interest to me, and I’d love to be able to put to use some of the nature and supernatural qualities of bits of stories I’ve encountered.

@everyone + DMs I’ve yet to reply to: I’m settling into a new job, but will try tonight to get through all of my messages. There are some absolutely beautiful plots I’ve been sent, full of detail and promise, and I want to give a reply that matches that effort when I’m not on my phone at work. Thank you, all. Your patience is noticed and appreciated.

I think one of the first I will begin separately might be a survival or vampire plot. And in addition, talk more about the specific ones you all have sent and see if we can get them in motion!
