All Hail King Elu | Generation 01
The Beginnings | What happened on 25/09/2020
The first wolf to join Hairouna was Sakari. Sakari was an average wolf, and Elu was grateful for her company. He gave her the rank of Queen, more out of obligation than any lingering affection. Yet the two would produce a litter of 2. Neither pups really stood up to Elu's standards. Not only did he want to produce a strong brood, but he also wanted them to be pleasing on the eyes. Regardless, Sakari grew very angry at the fact that he so eagerly tossed her kin aside, souring the relationship between the two of them. But the pair would not be alone for much longer. Kele would soon join them, a lone male Elu met while exploring. Kele had grown up in the mountainsides his whole life, and he had a burning passion to explore the wider world. So he was designated as a scout and sent to be Elu's eyes and ears. Kele would swiftly discover the grasslands and the Forests, greatly pleasing his liege. The last wolf that would join them that day would be Adriel. A rather hot-headed lad, but it was clear that he had a knack for hunting, and quickly took over Sakari's former role, as she had become a pup-sitter to raise her pups (regardless of the fact they wouldn't be staying). Adriel had to take the tough role of being the sole hunter for a day, as Elu looked to expand his pack.
A New Dawn | What happened on 26/09/2020
A new day and a new dawn. The 26th saw the joining of Nayati, who would become Hairouna's second hunter. Mainly chosen due to his personality, rather than his skills (or maybe lack of them). This day would also mark the arrival of Halona. Now Halona, Halona was a pretty thing, and it would be no lie to say she made Elu's heart flutter a little. However, her haughty disposition conflicted greatly with his charismatic nature and so the two could never quite see eye to eye. Elu did notice however she would often linger at the scent of foreign males, hinting that maybe she would do best in creating a litter that was not related to him.
One More Guy | 27/09/2020
Another day, another wolf. Today marked the joining of Misu into the pack, taking up the role of hunter. The first hunting group was now almost done, with a special cave set aside just for the hunters to hone in their craft. The Bombshell | 29/09/2020
The 29th brought a lot of surprises, good and bad to Hairouna. Firstly Elu got sick, with Diarrhea, the first sickness in Hairouna history, and also the only wolf to go down with it. This greatly scarred the pack. They had no one to heal them, or even learn how to do it if anything went wrong. Hence Elu was sent out once again to find a compatible wolf. He first stumbled upon Winona, and while she really wouldn't work as a healer, she fit right into the hunters, rounding off their first hunting group to completion. But he kept searching, up and down for any wolf who could take the role, before stumbling upon. Nina, and it was practically love at first sight. The two instantly connected, and even though she wasn't the best herbalist, there was just something about her that Elu could not refuse. Sakari however was not pleased with Elu's new infatuation, starting a silent disagreement between the two females. Life | 30/09/2020\
It didn't take long for Elu and Nina to produce pups, and on the 30th of September new life was brought into Hairouna. To pretty much everyone's surprise and delight Seattle was born. A pup with a rare colouring (Sky base), and his father's icy eyes. His brother, Dakota also proved to be a handsome young lad, but Chase was well, less than pleasant on the eyes. He managed to get an awful combination of his mother and father, and everyone knew he wasn't going to be staying. Elu was so pleased with this birth that he marked Seattle as his heir apparent. Needless to say, Nina was overjoyed. Sakari on the other hand was downright pissed. She was his second in command and her firstborns weren't being allowed to stay? Disgruntled she kept her mouth shut but knew she would get her revenge in her own time. This day also brought along the welcoming of Matias. The bossy young man would be the permanent pup sitter for the pack, as Sakari tended to change roles depending on what was needed.
New Kin, New Friends | 21/10/2020
After weeks of continuing regular pack life, from hunting foraging, and of course getting sick and wounded, the 21st of October brought a bountiful of change to Hairouna. In an act of revenge and defiance Sakari, who should have, and would have been mating with Elu for life, snuck away at the very end of her heat cycle, determined to have pups that he would deem as suitable. This lead to her stumbling across Hozan. Hozan was apart of The Grave Diggers pack, and Sakari quickly bred with him in order to produce pups. Elu was furious. While there was (and still is) no love between the two, it infuriated him that she would dare to go out of her way to do this. They were supposed to be the leading pair, but Sakari's actions burned, at least in his eyes, any lingering relationship there could be. Elu was ignorant of his own hypocrisy, but in a moment of anger demoted Sakari as his queen, enacting Nina to the role instead. Sakari, for a lack of better words, could not give a shit, instead, striving to make sure that at least one of her kin would be able to survive in the pack. She knew she had the advantage over Nina of being much younger, and hence able to produce a lot more pups, and have the chance of their genes remaining in the pack. On the 21st 3 pups were born. While they were not given names a Liver, Sepia, and Caramel pup were born. While it was decided that the caramel pup would go, the Liver one was pretty enough in Elu's eyes to stay, and the Sepia, well he would see if he could trade the pup for resources. This greatly pleased Sakari, and now no longer bounded by the role of Queen, she felt in the future she could do the exact same thing all over again. The influx of males however had Elu worried. He knew that one day he would step down from the role of breeding male and let a newcomer take over, however, there was now way too many males, and while there were ways to change genders, he also knew he needed some new blood into his pack. This is why he took Abey into the fold. She was young, pretty, and he was sure she would be a suitable female to breed new life into the pack. In the beginning, it was a bit risky to see if she would survive. So the first few nights they watched in anticipation to see if she would make it to adolescence, and when she did a grand party was held to celebrate.
Two Can Play That Game | 25/10/2020
Still fuming from what he considered to be Sakari's betrayal, Elu set out to have another batch of pups with Nina. Nina was not too keen about having more puppies so soon but decided to play a role in Elu's ego game. On the 25th, Nina gave birth to five puppies, the biggest amount ever born in Hairouna to that date. Nina delivery also had another special add on to it, it was the first time that female pups had been born into the pack. On such a monumental occasion a party was held to celebrate their birth. Both females, a Maltese, and an Obsidian were graced with the opportunity to stay in the pack, while for the males they would see if they could be sold, and if not sold, then chased.
The Big Update | 15/01/2021
A lot has happened since the last major update to the pack standings. Winnoa gave birth to 5 pups, with only 1 being retained, as Rey became a permanent member of the back. Matias, the Minister of Educate said goodbye to the living realm, and so did Nina. Elu was distraught at the news of his wife's passing, and a fortnight of mourning commenced. During this mourning period, all of the members of the pack fasted, much to Sakari's disappointment, as she was happy the former Queen had kicked the bucket. To Sakari's disappointment, however, the now-vacant spot of Queen was not granted to her, but instead was given to Elu's daughter and heir, Seattle, as she gained the role of Acting Queen. Seattle had also had one child of her own, Sunset. A rather daft thing, but lovely all the less. With the relaxation of breeding protocol, Vincent and Abey had a littler together, signaling the changing of laws, and loosening of the authority of the aristocracy. Sakari would also have another litter, and her first female pup to survive the cutthroat nature of the pack, as London aged from a young pup to a full-grown wolf. ... to be continued. woHTML by Lila #225. |
