Do not steal any of these writings!

This means no putting them on your den page without permission or without credit. It means editing the stories and saying it's mine. That means saying I gave you permission to put them on your den without me actually giving you permission.

Cat Writing Ex.

By Waffles (#14042)

Meows pounced on a string, purring and batting it up with her paws. She tumbled around, letting out small meows of delight as she batted at the string of thread. The kitten's ears pricked as she heard a slight noise. The door was creaking open, and the familiar noise of her human talking came into the house. Meows jumped up, and dashed over to the door, purring and weaving around her human's legs, the thread of string completely forgotten. Her human reached down and picked up Meows, smiling and rubbing behind the kitten's ears. Meows purred louder, rubbing her head against her human's cheek. Another smell hit her nose and an unfamiliar noise reached her ears. She jerked her head up, her little tail lashing. A male human had stepped into the room, looking highly suspicious to Meows. She watched as the human shifted something in his hands and slipped it into his pocket. Meows hissed, seeing a glimpse of the thing. It was a little slip of green paper, one of the papers humans cherished. Meows had never understood why, but she knew that they were important to humans. Meows felt her fur bristle, and she hissed louder. That wasn't the male humans green paper! It was Meows's human's paper! He'd stolen it! Meows swatted at him with her claws, yowling, trying to get her human to know he'd stolen her green paper. Meows's human gasped and put Meows down, making disappointing scolding noises, the same ones she made when Meows had clawed up the curtains. Meows stared desperately at the human. Why wasn't she understanding? The male human was a thief! Meows's human turned to the thief, and said something to him as if she was apologizing. Meows meowed in protest, but her human ignored her. Her human walked past Meows, leading the thief into the kitchen where her human made the weird tasting food. Meows tired once again to alert her human, but she, once again, ignored Meows. Meows stared at her human and the man as they talked, and Meows knew one thing:

The human was bad, and Meows would be useless to protect her human.

Human Writing Ex.

Sally sat at the table, sighing. She stared down at her homework. The numbers on the pages seemed to jumble up into confusing equations she thought she would never understand. She picked up her pencil and started to work, only to get frustrated and throw her pencil across the room. Her puppy, Mango, dashed after the pencil, grabbing it and rolling around with it, starting to chew on the wood. Sally's other, older dog, Maggie, pressed herself against Sally comfortingly, as if she was saying it was going to be alright and she would solve the math problems.

Sally knew she wouldn't. Her school was awful, and they barely taught her anything. But it was the only school close enough to her. Instead of doing her homework, she went outside and played with Mango.

The next day, Sally peeked her head into the school building, anxious about the whole homework situation. What would she say to her teacher? That she'd given up? That would get her suspended. Her mother would be so angry! Sally sat down in her seat, fidgeting, as her teacher called on ever student to come up and show their homework. Finally, after what seemed all too long and all too short at the same time, the moment Sally was dreading came. Her teacher, Mr. Sour, turned to her and said, "Sally? Yes, Sally, come up and show your homework." Sally froze. Should she refuse? No, she couldn't...maybe she could say she forgot? Any excuse she would ever come up with in her whole life wouldn't stop herself from getting punished. She'd always need to turn in her homework, even if she missed five days of school, or even ten! Then she'd have more pieces of homework to do. She stood up, about to get in trouble, when suddenly the fire alarms blasted. Everyone jumped, and ran out of class, not in a straight and obedient line, but in a panicked jumble of students. Mr. Sour's shouts were drowned out by the screams of students, and the roar of an actual fire. Sally dashed down the stairs, running towards the doors. Just as she ran out of the school building, the doors of the school collapsed in, trapping kids inside. Sally gasped, horrified, then she saw the kids running through another different door, and she relaxed. After a lot of waiting and fear, cars started pulling up and getting kids. Sally saw her mother and she ran over to her. "Mom!" She cried, getting into the car. "Do you know who started the fire?"

"Yeah, a teacher dropped a match on a piece of paper when he was leaving the classroom, the teachers said." Her mom replied. "I think this time is long overdue, but: we're moving now!"

"Really? Yes!" Sally gasped. She wouldn't have to do any more homework!

Writing Ex. 2 (Warrior cats)

Fernpaw carried her catch into camp. She'd passed her assessment! She skipped around beside her brother, Whitepaw. He'd passed, too. Whitepaw purred at Fernpaw. "We're going to be the best warriors ever!" He announced.

"Yeah," Fernpaw agreed. "What do you wanna do first when we become warriors?"

"I want to go on a patrol," he meowed. "But I want to go with you."

"Yeah, I do too." She purred loudly. Whitepaw was the best!

"I bet you'll be a better warrior than me. You're so good at everything!" Whitepaw purred.

"No, you're definitely going to be better." Fernpaw meowed. "You might even be a leader!"

"Then I'll make you my deputy," Whitepaw purred.

Fernpaw smiled. "You're going to be a great leader!"

Flamestar's meow called from the Brightledge. "It's our ceremony!" Fernpaw gasped.

Whitepaw's eyes shone excitedly. "I can't wait!"

"You won't have to. Let's go!" Fernpaw dashed In front of the Brightledge, Whitepaw behind her.

After their ceremony, Fernpaw and Whitepaw, who were now Ferntail and Whitesun, settled down for their vigil. They sat beside each other. Whitesun smiled. "I can't wait to do warrior duties tomorrow. It's always been my dream, to become the best warrior ever."

Ferntail purred. "You're great already."

Whitesun smiled bigger. "I'm so excited to be a warrior with you."

They sat beside each other until dawn rose. Suddenly, a scent touched Ferntail's nose. Her eyes widened. "Rouges!" She yowled. At that moment, rogues burst through the entrance of camp. Warriors jumped out of the warriors' den. Yowls broke out as the battle began. Ferntail battled with a brown rouge. She dodged his blow and slashed at his muzzle. He leaped on top of her, pinning her down. She kicked out her legs, forcing him off, and leaped on top of him, clawing at his sides. Snow started to fall, and soon there was a blizzard. But the rogues kept fighting.

After a while of battling, the rogues fled. The snow has eased, and now there was just a blanket of it laid on the ground. Ferntail looked for Whitesun. He would obviously be excited about his first battle as a warrior. She grew worried as she couldn't find or see him. Suddenly, she saw a pool of red staining the white snowy ground. She bolted over to it, seeing her brother's camouflaged white pelt. It was covered in blood. "Whitesun! Whitesun!" She gasped. Her brother lifted his head.

"Ferntail.." his words were weak. "All I ever wanted to be was a great warrior..."

Ferntail stared at him. "You are a great warrior. And you're going to be a great warrior! You're not dying, Whitesun. No.."

Whitesun glanced up at Ferntail, deep sadness and regret in his pained eyes. "I'm sorry, Ferntail. I promised I would be a warrior with you...I was so excited..." his words came out as short gasps of pain. "I've failed you...I've failed myself.."

"No! No!" Ferntail wailed. "You're going to be a warrior with me! You were so excited! So happy! We were going to patrol together today! Remember?" She sobbed.

Whitesun stared at Ferntail. "I c-can't...be a good warrior..." he rasped. "B-but...you....can....."

Ferntail shoved her face into Whitesun's fur, tears streaming down her face. Whitesun had always shown the most interest in wanting to be the best warrior. He'd always talked about leading the Clan to greatness, and being the best warrior there ever was. Now rogues had taken away her brother's chance to feel the life of a warrior. To feel what he'd always wanted to feel.

"Whitesun.." she stared at her brother, tears in her eyes, as she watched his chest heave with one last painful shuddering breath as he suddenly went still.

Her brother was dead.

Writing Ex. 3 (Small story)

Waffles (#14042)

Sunlight poured into a small cave, warming a pup's back. Cozy and at peace, the pup wiggled closer to his mother's belly, squealing. The wolf pup's siblings were curled around him, crawling on top of him and knocking him around. He sneezed, shoving one of his siblings off of him, and letting the sunlight pour across his back. He started to dream, warm and cozy and happy.
