Ooh, a book club! Hello everyone!

I read a lot of fantasy aimed at kids because Teen fiction has failed me. Currently, I’ve been reading Diana Wynne-Jone’s Dalemark Quartet. I absolutely love her work! I started with the Howl trilogy and just kept going, read whatever I could get my hands on. All her stuff is good and very British. Ii like her take on magic.

F.C Yee’s Kyoshi books are very good too GTG!

The series that made me enjoy reading is Animorphs, a long series of short books.  Don't let the covers decieve you, this isn't dorky little kids stuff.  A group of young teens end up drug into a secret war between two alien races.  Earth has been being invaded for a while now, and until the good aliens arrive, these kids must keep the bad ones in check.  But in Animorphs, the aliens could be anyone, and when you can't trust your own family, friends, teachers, things become a whole lot harder

Genre Tags: Sci-Fi, Drama, Some Humor, Slight Romance, War

Warnings: Violence, Gore, Mild Language, Torture (physical, mental, emotional), Deaths, Major Character Deaths, Dark Themes, Disturbing Descriptions, Trauma, Probably More

There's Deltora Quest, another series of shorter books set in a fantasy world that's already been taken over by the main antagonist.   Full of mind games, puzzles and plot twists that have trained me to the point that I'm rarely surprised by any plot twists anymore...plus really detailed cover art and an anime based on it

Genra Tags: Fantasy, Adventure, Some Comedy, Some Romance,

Warnings: Violence, Death, Monsters, Magic, There's Like one Witch but She's Evil if Witches Bother You, Disturbing Moments Maybe?

A very entertaining series, Wings of Fire is for dragon lovers.  It takes place in a world ruled by dragons, where a war between the dragon tribes has been going on for years.  A group of young dragons was said to be born that would put an end to it....but they decided to do things their way instead. (In my opinion, the first arc is the best, followed by Legends of Darkstalker and then arc 2)

Genra Tags: Fantasy, Adventure, Humor, Romance (some), DRAGONS

Warnings: Violence, Magic, LGBTQ relationships hinted in arc 2 and included in arc 3 if you aren't comfortable with that, Slight Gore?

The Three Doors is in the same universe as Deltora Quest, but can be read as  a standalone trilogy.   In a kingdom surrounded by a protective wall, the monsters they're trying to keep out are somehow breaking through.   Volunteers are sent beyond the wall to find the monsters den and destroy it, but none come back, and no one is really sure what lies beyond the wall...

Genra Tags: Fantasy, Adventure,

Warnings: Violence, Monsters, I Honestly Haven't Read This In A While So Let's Say if You're Okay With Deltora Quest This Should Be Fine Too

Ella Enchanted is a more fun retelling of Cinderella, but with some serious twists, namely, Ella is cursed.  Any order or request givin to her, she must carry out.  When the curse starts putting her in some dangerous situations, she heads off to find her fairy godmother, and demand she take back the obedience 'gift'

Genra Tags: Fantasy, Adventure, Romance, Humor

Warnings: Uhhh Magic?  Some Combat?

Oh, I LOVED Animorphs as a kid! I got our school librarian to order almost the whole series for me, one book at a time.

Hi, everyone!

I'm currently reading Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. Ninth House is an urban fantasy New Adult (NA) book set on the campus of Yale University. I'd recommend the book to anyone with an interest in dark academia and murder mysteries. I'm not done yet, but it's a pretty easy read.

Re: NaNoWriMo, I'm not participating this year. I'm too busy and stressed.
