Hello everyone! Thread one's owner is mostly inactive, and thread two's owner was banned.  Thanks to both OPs and everyone who submitted data, here's thread three! 

To enter your data, just share the two bases you bred, and the bases of their pups! I'm not collecting eye data, but someone else is here.

These stats should be current up to the week or so, and you can consult the  spreadsheet for more info.

Data Analysis:

Initial data analysis is based on Skudde's infographic and the estimates in the Grouse House Genetics Guide.  All data from Threads one and two has been entered.  [Stats will be updated every 100 pups or so.  Last updated 01/17/2020, 7:30pm central]

Current data count: 2403 pups!

  • If the different Tier I categories (Tier I Common and Tier I Breed Only) are treated as identical for inheritance purposes, the pup inherits the exact color rarity (Tier I Common, Tier I Breed Only, Tier II) from one of the parents 88.10% of the time, and a different rarity 11.90% of the time.
  • 89.06% of the time, the pup inherits the color type (monochrome, muted, warm, or cool) from one of the parents.  10.94% of the time, the pup inherits a color type different from either parent. 
  • 84.44% of the time, the pup inherits the color value (light, medium, dark) from one of the parents.  15.56% of the time, the pup inherits a color value different from either parent. 
  •  All of these are trending upwards as more data is collected; I'm hypothesizing that Tier and Color Type will be 90%/10% splits, but I'm less certain about Color Value.

The statistics for how each is inherited will be in the next few posts. 
(Sorry, we have too much data to list everything out.  If we can collect enough data for all combinations, that's going to be 118 x 118 combos, and I don't want to list out 13924 lines of combinations.)

Tumbleweed x Ebony = Liver, Honey, Willow

Caramel x Lilac = Marengo 

Nocturne x Dinar = Cocoa, Pewter, Jet, Chocolate
