Lets Talk About Stats!

Lets Talk About Stats!
Posted 2020-11-26 03:53:01

Hello, so I know quite a few people enjoy breeding for stats, and since I havent been able to find a family for it, I wanted to open a discussion up for people to share their strategies or brag about their new statty pups.  Just to kinda get a bit of a community going!  Maybe eventually we could start a family if one doesn't crop up on its own, but in the mean time let's open the conversation!

Note- you dont have to actively have high stats to talk, even if you're just interested or trying to get there and want to know more or feel more involved in the stat community feel free to post here!

So to break the ice feel free to introduce yourself!  Answer or dont answer as many as you feel like :)

Who are you?

What's your goal or focus in breeding stats?

What statty wolf are you particularly proud of right now?

Do you have a tip or question for other stat breeders?

Ill go first!

Who are you? My name is SyntheticHumor, you can call me Syn!

What's your goal or focus in breeding stats? I'm more of a casual stat breeder, mostly focusing on breeding from scouts rather than making a monster stud, but maybe eventually!

What statty wolf are you particularly proud of right now? Im in love with my future Scout Nimbus, although shes only starting at 414, I cant wait to start training her!

Do you have a tip or question for other breeders? You can find out how many stats your wolf will have after leveling to 20 by adding 418 to its starting stats!  Of course wolves will also gain extra stats through doing activities some times, so this is essentially the minimum possible stats.

Who are you?

Xeli, and you can refer to me as such. ❤

What's your goal or focus in breeding stats?

Clean breeding lines of high stats that aren't limited to the leaderboards! ( Also going to try to produce pretty stat babies. )

What statty wolf are you particularly proud of right now?

Currently: my stud, Vaatu. My very first stat puppy purchase. But I absolutely cannot wait to produce my first litter of high stats!

Do you have a tip or question for other stat breeders?

No current tips or questions, but I'll come up with some, I'm sure.

Who are you?
I'm Ishira :D Ish/Ishi is also fine!

What's your goal or focus in breeding stats?
I look to breed for not only stats but also looks, creating powerful, designer wolves that are affordable, so more people can enjoy them!

What statty wolf are you particularly proud of right now?
Right now I'm proud of my heir Atlas! Starting at 415, he has potential to reach the leaderboards by 20. I am also excited for my girl Equinox, who just grew up and will begin her scout training today. <3

Do you have a tip or question for other stat breeders?
Stats appear to be calculated, in general, as mother + father divided by 4. There may be a guide or spreadsheet in the forums for this, I've never read one, I'm just speculating from experience lol. Using that math you can get a ballpark for a litter's stats, assuming I'm correct.

Edit: Also @Syn where did you get your avatar, I need something by that artist *-*

@Xeli-

Damn I've been looking through the TC, and I didnt realize just how much of an effect Chime had on the lineage!  I thought Micheal Scott was going to be the major difficulty with finding girls to breed your boy too, but Chime really has her paws all over the high stat market!  You have yoyr work cut out for you with this!  Maybe watching for Emporers pups would be your best bet, since he doesnt have either in his lineage.

@Ishi-

Atlas is delightful!  I hope to see him make it up there :)

As for the calculation- is that the same equation used for lioden?  I forget what it was back there because it's been a while, but it might have been something like that, and it would make sense if it was.

My icon was by Hlaorith #5313!  Lovely artist.

@Syn: No worries on that. I've already got a group of females outside of the main leads locked down. I may let Vaatu be an open breeder, for the money. XD But my females, going to be extremely selective for their pups. I will probably outsource most of their breedings to gen1 males that aren't on the leaderboard.

@Syn
Thank you! <3 He is my pride and joy, if you can't tell by all his decked out decor lol.

I havn't played lioden since beta so I honestly have nooo idea ;_; But it does make sense, so I'm running with it for now. xD I may see if theres any guides written on stat breeding, just no spreadsheets, my eyes cant handle so much information. x_x

Also thank you! I will have to bug them if their comms are open. :'D

@Ishi: I have a friend who has been building a spreadsheet, and from what we can tell so far, the stats of the parents are added together and the pups fall in a 30-50% range of the total number. But the higher the stats, the lower the percentage. I'm trying to get them into this thread to explain. Buuuuut. It's 3:30am my time, so idk if they're even awake. XD

@Xeli

Oooh thats exciting! Also yeah I was sort of noticing that two really high stat wolves bred together make.. underwhelmingly statted babies? Not low by any means, but not what you would expect. So having the lower percentage would make sense! I look forward to seeing what they're making, if they join us :o

@Ishi: yeah. They accurately determined my last two litters within just a few stat points, and my sister's last litter. So I'm pretty sure we're on the right track. XD The spread isn't massive yet, so there's lots more research to be done. But it seems to be accurate enough.

@Xeli

Well I am happy to help contribute! I have wolves from 200-400 in stats, so I can give a pretty wide range of data. I can even breed to certain studs if it helps fill in gaps :3
