The Iberian Pack Project

Please don't post here (if you are interested pm me)

Description

This project aims to organize my lore and the in-pack lineages, as well as find other people that might situate their packs in the Iberian peninsule. As I am just deciding on a plan, this generation is a bit chaotic and therefore mostly exempt from the limitations I set for myself (just thinking about the mess gives me a headache). This project will start once I retire my current queen, so it'll be a while before that, another reason to do this, before I forget. This are not hard rules, because I keep forgetting them.

Objectives

Limit my pack to 15 or less wolves, if there are more than that chase or sell.

Have high statted wolves.

Aim for TII in at least the breeding male.

Keep track of lineages and lore.

Have a wolf that looks like this

Limitations

The Breeding male isn't part of lore, he's there to make money.

Limit the breeding to once a year (a wolfs year that is), sell or chase the pups unless necessary to replace someone who died. The only exception is for my project(s).

Only start breeding/searching for a heir once the wolf turns 5y 6m old. Or earlier if you want an specific look to the heir.

The heirs have to be related to their predecessors except breeding male.

No inbreeding.

The pack will be limited to: 1/2 hunting party (1 Main and 1 reserve), 2 scouts, 1 herbalist and 1/2 sitters.

Lore

Pack theme

G1:

Atropa was thrown out of her pack due to a misunderstanding, so she set out to make her home on a beech forest in the north of the Iberian Peninsule. The twisting trunks of the trees and the nearby stream made for a safe and cozy place to set up.

While exploring her newfound home he met Zephyrantes, a lone wolf in search of a pack. They had two pups and invited 6 other wolves to help with hunting and taking care of the pups, but the pack didn't stop growing then. About two months later while Atropa was exploring she licked something she shouldn't have (a frog) and started feeling ill, luckily an older wolf was just passing by who had some experience making cures and with the help of the bear Herbert they cured her. After that she joined the pack as the resident herbalist.

A year went by and while the winter was slightly hard due to the increased difficulty in hunting, they all made it pass it, including the two pups who were now adults and could start assisting in pack duties, in their case hunting. That Spring Atropa brought a strange wolf into the pack, his name was Carthamus and stole the heart of the ladies of the pack, including her daughter, something she wasn't happy about in the beginning, but then accepted it once she saw he was dedicated to helping the pack with scouting; hell, even some wolves from other packs came with requests.

The pack saw some new wolves joining: one was brought in to inherit the herbalist post, since Althaea's only daughter took to hunting and the other who saddly was separated from her mother at a young age and then had to change pack for lack of space, was brought in to form a full hunting party. And some offspring leaving, but they were still very close to one another, there were little to no scuffles between packmates and everyone contributed to the group.

The old herbalist, Althaea finally passed away and her daughter whom had been working as a stalker took over her. The hunting party now with only two wolves disbanded, the older one seeing as he was reaching retiring age decided to leave the pack and wander the wilds, while the younger one is searching for a new pack in need of an experienced chaser.

Atropa had an early pregnancy in the summer, the pups were hardy and survived the birth. In the following months, as the pups started opening their eyes, one of the them stood out amongst the rest, her eyes were so light they almost looked white. She ended up being chosen to inherit the leadership, while the rest of the litter abandoned the pack once they could take care for themselves.

The next three years saw a period of tranquillity, new wolves joined and replaced those who died, until one day when Atropa and her mate Zephyrantes were making the rounds in their new territory and were attacked by a snake, Zephyrantes didn't make it but Atropa did, though she ended up severly poisoned. Actaea tried her best to cure her, but she could only prolong her life for a few months more, in that time she prepared her heir, Calendula, for taking over the leadership of the pack.

G2:

The new territory was a beautiful place to live. The calm stream near the den dispersed fog almost every day, making it look mystical, when it rolled over the leaf covered ground, the natural sounds of the forest seemed to mute as if paying respects to something very old and powerful. During those times the pack members felt as if they were being watched while they went about doing their jobs, nobody knew the reason until one late night when Calendula was doing her nightly leisure stroll around the territory.

Calendula had stopped by the riverbank to drink some water when, while she was lifting her head she caught something reflected on the water, a dark wolf shape with white eyes that seemed to stare through her soul, but that couldn't be because she didn't hear or smell anyone coming. At that thought she quickly turned to her right, and sure enough there was a wolf there, but there's something weird about it, they were kind of hard to perceive as if they blended seamlessly into the fog and the night.

Having sensed Calendula's alarm, the strange wolf changed his posture to something more friendly and said, in a voice that seemed to come from inside her, "Do not worry, I mean you or your pack no harm. In fact I'm this territory's protector, as long as I'm here no evil outside of nature shall befall you."

After that the wolf seemed to blend into the night and disappear, since then the pack has referred to this strange Entity as Centinela and they tend to pay respects by leaving fresh kills in the banks of the river where Calendula first saw him, the offerings seem to be gone by the next day, but since that first sighting none have seen the elusive wolf, though sometimes the pack members swear they have seen a wolf shaped shadow moving around on foggy days.

G3:

After her mother died of old age Cordia took over, while at first she seemed like a good leader, soon things started to feel sligthly wrong, food seemed scarcer and pups dissappeared overnight, when asked to investigate, she told the rest of the pack they were taken to other packs, but the expression on her face told them otherwise.

When the wisp started showing and wolves started dissapearing it gave Cordia an alibi for why most pups in the pack were missing a day or two after they were born, only the strongest survived this culling. But the pack weren't happy just letting the pups get taken by the lights and pressured Cordia to investigate, that's how she got involved with the other pack that was investigating this fenomenon, even though she didn't want to help.

After that whole mess was temporarily resolved things calmed down, the pup dissappearances lowered and the wolves in the pack stopped hearing voices. They wondered why their constant helpful shadow seemed to have banished without a trace, why he hadn't kept them safe from the strange lights. What they didn't know is that he saw what the leader was doing and was so disgusted he avandoned them to their fate. Now the pack lives in uncertainty and fear of their pack leader, but none dare oppose her.

At the end of her reign the arrogance of Cordia left another problem for her packmates, she didn't have a heir, believing herself immortal she didn't want a child to take over for her so one of the scouts took the matter in her own paws and brought in a young wolf to train as a replacement, the surety of her reign made her arrogant however and she tends to come across as selfish to others, but her respect for Casiopea curves her more self serving tendencies, hopefully, think the other wolves, that will still be true when she takes over. She's being kept away from the main zone of the pack so as not to alert Cordia.

I'm getting overwhelmed because I don't know what direction I want my pack to take so I'm going to write possible plans for the future and replacements for roles:

PLAN:

Try to have all packmates be at least TII with 300+ stats, train wolfs as scouts or hunters before making them pupsitters so they don't end up behind everyone else in stats.

A unlikely goal is getting a cojoined or polycephaly  male pup with white-black heterocromia, but I'll make do with normal twins, though it'd be more expensive to immortalize. As a reference to Inun and Xero.

Got the fox base recipe, and managed to craft it! It took 7 months, but it's done.

Next project is getting a dust eyed lead, bonus points if she's a wulfenite. Already have a g2 male with dust eyes that I can give a moonlight or fox base to that I could breed to a g2 wulfenite, also this morning I got a Realgar NBW that I can breed to a storm eyed fox stud.

ROLE REPLACEMENTS:

Herbalist = Kalmia

Stalker = Cedar

Chaser 1 = Heath

Chaser 2 = Achillea

Chaser 3 = Thistle

Finisher = Scabiosa

Mentor/Trainer = Quick Claw
