What's your Breeding Male/Leader strategy?
Posted 2020-11-09 17:17:45
1. Are your BM and Leaders the same wolf or different wolves? 2. If they're different wolves, is your leader Male or Female? 3. If they're different wolves and your leader is Female, do you intend to breed her to your BM or to outside studs? Why or why not? 4. When the time comes to replace your BM and Leader, will you change any of the above? 5. How will you select your new BM and Leader? 6. Do you want them to be related or completely separate lineages to prevent inbreeding? 7. Are you trying to breed your own BM or Leader heirs, or buy them, or customize them? Can you explain why? |

1. Are your BM and Leaders the same wolf or different wolves? Different wolves at the moment. 2. If they're different wolves, is your leader Male or Female? My current leader is female. 3. If they're different wolves and your leader is Female, do you intend to breed her to your BM or to outside studs? Why or why not? Yep! I play for roleplaying purposes, and they're a mated pair. While I have my Breeding Male open for studs, canonically they only breed to one another. 4. When the time comes to replace your BM and Leader, will you change any of the above? Maybe a little. My next lead can be either gender, and if it's male, he'll be my Breeding Male. 5. How will you select your new BM and Leader? The Leader will be selected from the pups my current leader and her mate sire. It'll be one I like the looks of and is born after my leader is at least 4 in-game years old to give the new leader some time in the position. The Breeding Male will either be the leader or the closest I got to my goal wolf that I'm breeding towards with my non-canon wolves. Whichever one is male. The goal wolf will be the leader's mate, whether or not they are the Breeding Male. 6. Do you want them to be related or completely separate lineages to prevent inbreeding? They'll be unrelated, but as time goes on that might change. I won't be inbreeding within the pack, and once a wolf has become the leader's mate, I will stop breeding its relatives and replace them in the non-canon hunting team. But wolves outside my pack are outside my pack - I won't be paying attention to whether I've bred multiple wolves to the same stud or if outside studs are inbred. 7. Are you trying to breed your own BM or Leader heirs, or buy them, or customize them? Can you explain why? Breeding my own! That's what I find fun in this sort of game - I find it more fun to breed towards my own goals from scratch (or NBWs) than buy already-completed wolves from other players. |

1. Are your BM and Leaders the same wolf or different wolves? Mine are the same 2. If they're different wolves, is your leader Male or Female? They are same 3. If they're different wolves and your leader is Female, do you intend to breed her to your BM or to outside studs? Why or why not? BM and leader same so none 4. When the time comes to replace your BM and Leader, will you change any of the above? Yes, when mine dies I’m gonna start using only female wolves as leaders, I’ve been developing lore for my pack and i decided that they would have female leaders but that was after having my leader as a male 5. How will you select your new BM and Leader? I would probably trade for them both so there’s no chance of inbreeding 6. Do you want them to be related or completely separate lineages to prevent inbreeding? Separate 7. Are you trying to breed your own BM or Leader heirs, or buy them, or customize them? Can you explain why? I would buy them, after that they’d be heirs and breeded. I’d have one parent related to the leader and the other not related, either found while exploring or traded for. I hope this answers your questions! |

1. Are your BM and Leaders the same wolf or different wolves? Different! 2. If they're different wolves, is your leader Male or Female? My leader is female. 3. If they're different wolves and your leader is Female, do you intend to breed her to your BM or to outside studs? Why or why not? I intend to breed her and a few others in the pack to my breeding male. He is also open to public stud, but I'll be limiting how many pups he sires (he's a NBW selene with merle so I'd like a chance of the base passing on in my pack, but don't want a ton of pups for his character). In character, he's my leader's mate. But I may also breed her to an outside stud. Primarily though I'm looking for NBW lines with higher stats. 4. When the time comes to replace your BM and Leader, will you change any of the above? I'm still mulling all this over and I have a while yet before I have to decide. 5. How will you select your new BM and Leader? This is actually why I don't have an answer to four lol. I'm debating my next lead either being an off spring of my BM/Lead orrr using a NBW for my next lead, and instead my BM/Lead offspring being a BM orrrr just a good stat scout or hunter. I need to figure out more lore things first to see how I want the mantle to pass. 6. Do you want them to be related or completely separate lineages to prevent inbreeding? I won't be inbreeding and at least for now I plan on keeping my lineages short. Obviously this will grow the longer I play and the more generations I'm in, but I'm mainly to breed only after level 15 (or if they can't make that, after age 5-6). 7. Are you trying to breed your own BM or Leader heirs, or buy them, or customize them? Can you explain why? If they're going to be bred, I'm hoping to breed them. If NBW/chased...then I'm not adverse to picking them up in trading center because I never get lucky on my own LOL And I'm totally open to customizing them/adding markings and such, I'll spoil the heck out of whoever I choose because they'll be prominent lore figures for my pack. |
