Help me decide on a new base

For this dude here, he's going to be my new stud whenever he's old enough to do so:

He was originally honeydew and I pretty much immediately changed him to pale (cool light). BUT his base doesn't show through the markings and I don't think I want to breed cool light and end up with a full glaucous litter since it's a rather disliked base. My question is, what should I change him to? I'd go for monochrome dark onyx but it's also... so dull, hmm.

Any help?

I think he'd do well with a monochrome tier II! Siqoq, chert, pewter, those would all be nice!
